Rosco Launches A New Limited Edition 11.5” 5.56 NATO Husky Barrel

Rosco Manufacturing is adding to its limited edition series of Husky heavy barrels for the AR-15 platform. The lineup previously included 10.3”, 12.5”, and 14.5” models, however, at the moment only the 14.5” and new 11.5” variants are in stock and available for purchase. Will there be more? You’ll have to ask Rosco, but “limited” could indicate a firm “you snooze, you lose” policy from the Rhode Island barrel manufacturer. Let’s take a closer look at the Limited 11.5” 5.56 NATO Husky Barrel.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #129: TFB's Minimalist 3 Gun Setup

Have you ever wondered what you’d do if you could only ever own three guns? Let’s suppose you’ve got an unlimited budget, but for some reason, you can only get 3 more guns and you’ll never be able to get new ones again - what would you pick in this scenario? While this is unlikely to ever happen in real life, this simple question often exposes what most of us find important in our daily lives when it comes to guns. For this first round of answers from our TFB writers, I’ve brought on Adam S and Paul B to give their own bids into this fun little discussion. Today I hope you’ll also join us in the discussion (before or after listening to the podcast!) to share with us your three guns and why you picked them! We’ll be revisiting this topic over the next couple of episodes and maybe even beyond that, we’d love for you to join the discussion with us as it adapts with new guests.

Benelli M4 Recoil No More: Austrian Gunsmith's Recoil-Reducing Stock

Sebastian Unger is a good friend of mine and one I’ve had the rare opportunity to meet in person to talk about some of his designs - most notably the OpenTop 11/22. Sebastian recently came to me with yet another project he’s recently started working on. In a move that would make even the most seasoned gunsmiths shake their heads in bewilderment, our favorite Austrian man, tired of receiving his shotgun's punishing recoil, has decided enough is enough. Rather than suffer one more bruised shoulder, Sebastian has taken matters into his own hands and engineered a recoil-reducing stock that promises to tame even the most brutal of slug loads. Because when life gives you recoil, you build a better stock right?

Alchemy Custom Weaponry Fat Man Double Stack .45 ACP 1911

Alchemy Custom Weaponry is a custom handgun maker that a few years ago was acquired by Cabot Guns. While both divisions focus on offering high-quality, very well-detailed firearms, ACW tends to be the more practically minded workshop, with models designed to show off in use, not in a case. The RestoMod product line definitely falls in this category, merging nostalgic style with modern features.

Alien: Romulus - The Pulse Rife is Back?

I can still remember the first time I watched the film Aliens growing up. For me, back then, this 1986 science fiction action flick was more than a movie, it was an event. The box office return certainly reflected the film's popularity with it bringing $291,694,608 (adjusted for inflation) on a modest budget of $40 million. Of course, there would be many more films that would come out in the franchise but none of them featured the most iconic gun from the second instalment, the M-41A Pulse rifle. With the newest installment of the Aliens franchise chest bursting onto screens this Friday, I thought this would be a good time to look at its take on the Pulse rifle.

New York Forced To Allow Non-Resident Carry After Supreme Court Ruling

Do you ever travel to New York City? Do you concealed carry? Concerned about your safety while visiting? Great, then keep reading! The right to keep and bear arms and the city of New York go together like toasters and bathtubs. Thankfully, the landmark Supreme Court decision in New York State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Bruen, delivered some much-needed relief to NYC residents as it struck down a law, dating back a century, which required New Yorkers to show “proper cause” in order to obtain a concealed carry permit and exercise their Constitutional right to defend themselves. It seems now the fallout from that decision could also open up a path for non-residents to apply for permits to carry in the state.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #128: Backpack Gun Talk with Kirk from Aero

Today we’ve brought back Kirk from Aero Precision to talk a bit about “backpack guns.” What that term means exactly is largely up to the user but we thought we’d try to tackle the discussion from a more modern perspective. What you bring into the field with you is often going to be dictated by what you’re out there for in the first place. My assumption growing up and from reading various survival novels and fiction was that the trusty 22LR was always going to be the gun for the job but today Kirk and I are going to tackle the subject from a more learned, and modern perspective. How does the 22LR backpack gun concept hold up today, and what are some reasons why you might still want to have one in your collection?

Russian BRT Dronoboy Anti-UAV Muzzle Attachment

FPV kamikaze drones have really changed the battlefield. They are small, fast, cheap and devastating against infantry and vehicles alike. The Russo-Ukrainian war is probably the conflict where these machines have been used most extensively and ever since the sides started deploying them, they have also been trying to come up with solutions for defense against FPV drones. Arguably the most effective, readily available and affordable counter-FPV tool at the moment is the good old scattergun. However, one major disadvantage of using shotguns is that you need to carry a separate shoulder-fired weapon. Attempts to make more compact and lightweight devices for anti-FPV warfare have resulted in the creation of things like the Ukrainian MSD-5 pepperbox or the 12 gauge barrel inserts for underbarrel grenade launchers. In this article, we’ll take a look at one of the latest anti-drone devices, a rifle attachment called Dronoboy developed by Russian company BRT (one of the leading suppressor manufacturers in Russia).
