MOA Rifles BadRock North Fork Turn-Key Package

Oregon-based custom rifle builder, MOA Rifles, known for producing high-quality bolt actions using premium components, has just released their BadRock North Fork package, aimed at providing a turn-key hunting solution for the discerning shooter looking for the best “bang for their buck.” The build on the BadRock North Fork reads more like a wishlist. Let’s take a closer look.

Action & Barrel

Out of the gate, MOA Rifles has put to work a Defiance machined action made from pre-hardened aircraft-certified 416 stainless steel and recognized by many as a “Gold Standard” for precision builds. The bolt, guaranteed to proper headspace, is made of pre-hardened aircraft-certified 4340 chrome moly with recessed bolt lugs and utilizes a mini-16 extractor and plunger ejector. It is available for left and right-handed shooters in medium and long-action configurations.

At the heart of the BadRock North Fork is a Benchmark stainless steel #4 straight-fluted barrel, reducing weight and dissipating heat while providing rigid consistency and accuracy downrange. For medium-action applications, the rifle is chambered in 6.5PRC at 22” with a 1:8 twist, while the long-action is chambered in 7mm PRC at 24” with a 1:8 twist or 300PRC at 24” with a 1:9 twist. Additional chamberings are available by request. The barrel is threaded 5/8x24 and crowned with a side port 3-chamber muzzle brake.

Controls

The premium philosophy behind the MOA Rifles BadRock North Fork continues, placing it into the shooter’s hands via the well-known McMillan Carbon Fiber Game Warden 2.0. This modern ambidextrous stock features a negative sloping comb for use with large objective scopes, a vertical grip, finger stop, and integrated thumb shelves providing enhanced and repeatable ergonomics. Coupled with an industry-leading Trigger Tech trigger at the fingertip, the BadRock North Fork is well on its way to supplying all the tools necessary for the experienced shooter to achieve the control and precision required on their next hunt.

The Icing On Top

The BadRock North Fork is topped with a 6-24 x 50mm high-definition scope by renowned German-based optics manufacturer, Zeiss. Incorporating a 30mm main tube mounted in Hawkins scope rings, second focal plane reticle, and a large range of elevation and windage adjustment, the Zeiss V4 6-24 x 50mm boasts 90% light transmission to the eye, delivering top-notch resolution and low-light performance across the magnification range. ZEISS T* optics coating provides brilliant, high-contrast images, while the Ballistic Stop elevation turret ensures a positive and repeatable return to zero.

Packing it up

Weighing in at approximately 6.75 lbs bare and 8.25 lbs with the Zeiss optic, the MOA Rifles BadRock North Fork Package arrives already zeroed with a ballistic data card and custom yardage turret. It will come nestled away in a custom hard case including two boxes of Hornady factory ammunition. While the bare rifle is available for $3,995, the package price with everything mentioned here comes in at $6,495. Find out more at moarifles.com.

The advantage of an all in one solution, other than simplicity, is that if any one component dicks up they handle it all. It's not like if you pieced it out and any one problem is now your problem. I'm surprised 6.5 prc, the ammo, is nearly as affordable as 300 win. I might need to add another howa 1500 to the collection.
