Rosco Manufacturing 6mm ARC Purebred Barrels in 14.5”, 16”, and 20”

The Rhode Island manufacturer has evolved again, excited to announce its 6mm ARC Purebred Barrel Series in 14.5”, 16”, and 20”, respectively.

Let’s face it, once word gets out that an undisclosed Department of Defense Special Operations Unit acquires something new, you can bet the shooting community will take notice and begin adoption as well, 6mm ARC being no exception. Performance from the Hornady cartridge has been impressive thus far, with its polymer-tipped high ballistic coefficient projectiles achieving greater terminal characteristics at longer distances without the prohibitive weight of a large frame rifle and .308 ammunition. Yes, the 6mm ARC was designed to be fired primarily from the AR-15 platform with an enlarged bolt face.

In addition to terminal performance, the supersonic range of the 6mm ARC has been verified out to 1350 yards using a 108gr projectile and an 18” barrel. While velocities at that distance fall short of conditions necessary for bullet expansion, the cartridge increases lethality and combat effectiveness to a greater range than any other chambering on the AR-15 platform.

Constructions & Variations

Rosco Manufacturing is launching the 6mm ARC Purebred Series offering three initial variations, each with an SPR contour, enhancing the performance of cold bore shots while keeping weight balance in mind. Gas port sizes were determined according to popular precision loads considering suppressed and unsuppressed use in demanding environments. The 6mm ARC Purebred Series is manufactured and button-rifled in-house, using US-sourced steel.
