For everybody who still loves to rock a 1911 as their daily carry piece, Galco is expanding your options yet again by offering their Halo Belt Holster which can accommodate your favorite weapon-mounted light (WML) as well.

The Galco Halo Belt Holster (SKU: HLO212RB) also fits the following guns: Kimber 5" 1911 with or without red dot and WML | Smith & Wesson SW1911 5" with or without red dot and WML.

Galco @ TFB:

Galco states on their website that this version of the Halo Belt Holster is compatible with only Kimber and Smith & Wesson 1911s, but as long as you have a traditional slide and frame dimensions, I would tend to believe that their holster would fit dozens of 1911 models on the market today. At the moment, you can get it in Right- or Left-Hand with a classic Black Leather aesthetic at an MSRP of $138.

  • Premium steerhide
  • Retention strap with reinforced thumb break
  • Fits pistols with popular attached weapon lights from Surefire and Streamlight
  • Neutral cant
  • Tunnel-style loops fits belts up to 1 3/4"

Galco - July 2024 - Take back the night with Galco’s Halo™! Designed to comfortably carry a pistol equipped with a weaponlight, the Halo remains compact enough for realistic concealment of a light-equipped pistol.

Most real-world use of pistols – whether by law enforcement officers or lawfully armed citizens – occurs in hours of low light. Plainclothes officers and civilians who prefer to equip their pistols with a weaponlight need a holster that is compact enough to conceal, yet fast and fumble-free to draw.

Enter the Halo. The Halo’s vertical orientation allows a smooth draw without cocking the wrist, while its thumb-break retention strap combines positive control of the pistol with a fast and efficient draw. Riding high and close to the body, the Halo also offers excellent concealment of the large pistols that are typically equipped with weaponlights.

I can respect a solid 1911 for home-defense as a nightstand type of gun, but how many people in the audience reading this are still toting one for everyday carry (EDC) with a weapon light?... As always, we love to hear from you, let us know your thoughts about Galco and their Halo Belt Holster in the Comments below! We always appreciate your feedback.

The 1911 is not a Boomer gun. Glock is the Boomer gun. Who do you think was making the decisions when Glock took over the LEA market in the 90s?

The people making decisions in the 90's are the off-springs of the 1911 .45 AARP users, trying to make a better product.

      1911 Stans on suicide watch!

My EDC is an alloy frame 5" 1911. No light but mines dead nuts reliable, I shoot it better then most pistols, slim, and its good looking so I get excited to put in on everyday. Definitely not an old dude either. Just enjoy the pattern.

What are you going to do when you dump all eight rounds of .45 AARP at the threat, land one, and have to reload?

I guess you could throw it at them and run as far as your blood pressure will take you.
