In a massive deal Vista Outdoor, the parent company to over 40 well known brands, is to sell off its sporting products business in a $1.91 billion deal with Czechoslovak Group. Czechoslovak Group is a major Czech Republic-based holding company which already controls brands across the arms, aerospace and manufacturing industries – including Fiocchi, Tatra, and Atrak.

Two new ultralight models will be added to Weatherby’s catalog of magnum caliber hunting rifles. These new rifles will come loaded down with the latest components and craftsmanship from Weatherby, and come in at two different price ranges despite both being offered with Weatherby’s Sub-MOA guarantee. The new Mark V High Country and Vanguard Outfitter rifles offer modern hunters a few new options to choose from depending on their budget.

Just in time for the spooky season, Noveske Rifleworks has just announced the introduction of new “Nosferatu” Chainsaw matched receiver sets. This limited run of engraved and matched sets will be made available only through the Noveske website and will include not just the receiver set, but a WRMFZY Coffin ammunition bag as an added festive bonus. Noveske is also launching a brand new fixed carry handle rifle with the addition of the new 14.5″ Nightcap Gen 4 Rifle.

C&H Precision Weapons has a new line of modular ring mounts for attaching red dots to scope tubes. Rather than place the secondary optic on top of the scope ring, C&H placed it on a ring so it could be placed anywhere on the main tube. This also allows it to sit at any angle.

The National Association for Gun Rights won a major victory in their case defending forced reset triggers (FRTs). A district court in Texas just granted a preliminary injunction against the ATF that prevents them from treating FRTs as machine guns. However, this is not the end of the forced reset trigger fight.

In September, at the 2023 MSPO defense exhibition in Poland, FB Radom unveiled their newest pistol – the MPS. The MPS is a striker-fired, polymer-framed 9x19mm pistol. It has a removable fire control unit which can be removed from the weapon’s frame. This allows the user to select the frame that suits their requirements, the grip can also be adapted with three different sizes of grip panels. The pistol is double-action only and reportedly weighs 600g or 21oz unloaded.

France has donated several hundred FAMAS bullpup rifles to Suriname’s armed forces. Suriname borders French Guiana and has a military partnership with France. The press release from the French embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname’s capital, noted that 55 cubic meters of equipment ‘mostly FAMAS rifles and their ammunition’ had been delivered. Press reports note that this equates to around 300 rifles.

SIG Sauer are set to expand their ammunition manufacturing facilities in Jacksonville, Arkansas. Reports suggest that the New Hampshire-headquartered company plans to add over 600 jobs through an investment project that will see $150 million spent on the Jacksonville plant.

Back in the summer of 2020, Weatherby teamed up with the MeatEater outdoor media company and released a special edition Vanguard rifle. Well, the two companies continue their cooperation and Weatherby has announced another joint project, this time based on their newest Model 307 bolt action rifle. Back in January 2023, Russia’s Rosoboronexport announced that the first batch of India’s AK-203s had been completed. The rifles are being procured under India’s Make in India scheme with a joint venture, named Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited (IRRPL), which is a partnership between India’s Advanced Weapons & Equipment India Limited (AWEIL) and Munitions India Limited (MIL) and Rostec subsidiaries Kalashnikov and Rosoboronexport of Russia. This will see production of the rifles shift from Russia to India and Kalashnikov Concern have announced the shipment of machinery and tools to allow India to establish production in Korwa.

A new shotgun magazine extension may not sound like something newsworthy, however, Briley Manufacturing’s new HONEYCOMB extensions have a rather unusual design – they are skeletonized! Now, of course, dirt and debris will easily find their way into a magazine equipped with a skeletonized extension and cause malfunctions but I assume Briley HONEYCOMB extensions are made for competition shooting which is normally done in a more controlled environment compared to hunting or defensive and tactical use? I don’t know … sound off in the comments section.

Print Shoot Repeat primarily specializes in showcasing, testing, and developing open-source 3D-printed firearms that everyone and anyone with a 3D printer can benefit from. While DIY firearms available to anyone on the planet are his bread and butter, Print Shoot Repeat also dabbles in making fun firearms-focused music videos, as well as motorcycle content on his second channel Print Shit Repeat. Print Shoot Repeat is a man of many talents and I am honored to have been able to meet and shoot with him at this year’s Finnish Brutality match. The red dot market has been steadily seeing all of its major contributors add their own flavor of the enclosed red dot to the market. Riton Optics is no different and today they’ve finally announced their new 3 TACTIX EED (Enclosed Emitter Red Dot). This new addition comes in right around $300 in price and comes standard with a top-loading battery tray, 3 MOA dots, and a couple of adapter plates to fit different handgun optics-cut footprints.

Back in March, Lithuania announced that it had signed a contract with FN Herstal to procure an unspecified number of FN Minimi 7.62 MK 3s through a contract is worth $34 million Euros or $35 million. The first of Lithuania’s new FN Minimi 7.62s has arrived according to a recent update on the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense’s social media.

The Riflespeed Gas Control system is a quick and easy way to get your rifle up and running in a variety of situations when it just isn’t running right. The main advantage of the Riflespeed Gas Control system is that you can have a much longer handguard in a lot of cases since the system can be adjusted without tools, just using your hand. The Riflspeed system is being updated with a new Quick Lever Kit which allows the user to more easily adjust the gas controls, even if the handguard completely covers the controls.

The Slovak Republic has announced plans to procure 5,000 M4A1 carbines from the US. The $17 million procurement will be financed through Foreign Military Financing (FMF), which ‘enables eligible partner nations to purchase US defense articles, services, and training’ through either a US government loan or a grant. The Slovakian Ministry of Defense also shared the announcement in their social media, explaining the benefits of the M4A1. Announcements also noted the carbines would be procured from Colt.

CZ shooting team at the 2023 IPSC European Handgun Championship in Greece dominated many of the main divisions, winning a total of nine medals – six gold, two silver, and one bronze from the
individual competitions and with six European Champion titles and eight victories in worldwide rankings.

Gemtech have announced the addition of a 7.62mm suppressor to their Abyss range. The full auto-rated can is made from 17-4PH Stainless Steel and 6AL4V Titanium and weighs in at 16.3oz. The Abyss 7.62 is designed for calibers ranging from 5.7X28 to 300WM. It is available at $945.00 MSRP.

IWI have delivered the first batch of Negev NG7 machine guns to Estonia. The contract for the new 7.62x51mm Negev NG7s was signed in March 2023, the new guns will be issued to both the Estonian Defense Forces and the Estonian Defense League. The guns will replace the MG3s and KSP 58s (Swedish FN MAGs) which are currently in Estonian service.

Standard Manufacturing introduced the second generation of their DP-12 double-barrel pump-action bullpup shotgun. The differences between the DP-12 Gen II and the first-generation DP-12 shotguns are in the new contour of the barrels and the new patented polymer/aluminum frame. Girsan and EAA Corp continue to expand their High Power range with the new MCP35 PI LW. The pistols are available in two-tone tungsten or all-black finishes and with or without a frame rail. During the TriggrCon 2023, VKTR Industries, a gun company from House Springs, Missouri, released a new piston-operated AR15-pattern rifle called VK-1. This rifle was designed in collaboration with Paul Leitner-Wise, has eight patents protecting its different components’ designs and has received the TriggrCon 2023 Golden Triggr Award for Most Innovative Long Gun. Jard Inc. is known for making aftermarket triggers for 20 different rifle manufacturers plus AR, AK and FALs. Jard recently announced that their Browning X-Bolt adjustable trigger also includes a three-position safety with a bolt-lock feature. Jard claims that this is the lightest X-Bolt trigger on the market, has order options for 6 to 46-ounce trigger pull weights, and is a drop-in trigger without requiring gunsmithing.
