Hera Arms  Link System is a new line of muzzle devices that have an interesting two-part design that allows you to easily install or remove the muzzle devices using just an Allen key. Smith & Wesson Adds FDE Option To M&P 5.7 Series Pistols

At SHOT Show in January of this year, Smith & Wesson busted out their take on a 5.7x28mm pistol in the form of the M&P 5.7. The 5.7 series began much like the Ford Model T’s black color scheme, but Smith & Wesson has just announced they’re adding FDE (Flat Dark Earth) to the color options of the M&P 5.7 series of pistols. At present, the FDE M&P 5.7 will feature a two-tone scheme, with an FDE frame, while the slide retains a black finish. You can read S&W’s full press release below.

Strike Industries Releases NEW Stamped Dust Cover for AR-15

Firearms are not unique in their contentious relationship with dust and dirt. Any machine that gets foreign material in its operating system is bound to fail eventually. When it comes to your rifle, however, being on the wrong side of that relationship could lead to much more tragic results. Thankfully, we have a little help when running an AR-15. Dust covers are a small but important part, and now Strike Industries has given you a new, stronger option. If you prefer metal to polymer, take a look at the new Strike Industries Stamped Dust Cover.

THROOM TARGETS Ricochet-Free Silhouette KnockDown Series

While a negligent discharge is at the top of my list of things to avoid on the range, there are other dangers to consider while shooting. Traditional steel targets cause bullets to fragment on impact. Those tiny pieces typically fly into the ground around the target, but every now and then, one will fly back and hit me. Thankfully, I’m smart enough to wear eye protection, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get hurt. Throom Targets gives shooters the option to avoid this issue by creating targets that allow your bullets to pass through them. This is the silhouette version of knockdown targets.

Creedmoor Sports Releases Inverted Know Your Limits (KYL) Target

The sound of ringing steel is one of the most satisfying sounds I’ve ever heard. If you’re a fan of precision shooting, you know that the absence of that distant ring can be crushing, and can change the entire course of a match. The PRS stage that has perhaps crushed the most souls is KYL, or Know Your Limits. In the case of the new Inverted Know Your Limits (KYL) Target from Creedmoor Sports, silence is the preferred result. Pass your round through the targets without hitting the steel to taste victory!

Scan, Range, Engage! NEW Bushnell Bone Collector 1000 and 1800 LRF

Some shooters and hunters might not be aware, but Bushnell was the first company to ever invent a handheld, laser rangefinder (LRF) unit for the public. NASA and other industrious companies had invented them outright first, but Bushnell was able to take technology the size of an RV and put that in our hands. Now, 27 years later they are still cranking out LRF options for us with the newest being the Bone Collector 1000 and 1800.

Two Teens Smuggle AK-47s into Mexico by Taping them to Their Bodies

This past Monday, two Arizona teens were sentenced to federal prison for attempting to smuggle AK-47-style rifles into Mexico. While the drive and motivation displayed by these young, 19-year-old entrepreneurs – Manuel De Jesus Guzman of Rio Rico and Joshua Francisco Mendez of Tucson – is impressive, it’s the smuggling method that they employed that deserves attention. The teens were arrested in June 2022 after they tried to leave the United States through the pedestrian gate at the DeConcini Port of Entry in Nogales. Customs and Border Protection officers found four AK-47-style rifles taped to their bodies during a search at a secondary inspection.

Geissele Super Night Owl Suppressor – Double-Wall – 6.5mm

Reviving a six-year-old product announcement is not a normal occurrence in the firearms industry, but neither is a rifle/trigger/optic manufacturer releasing a silencer. The 2.25” diameter, 1.47-pound rifle suppressor is bored to 6.5mm, is user serviceable, and is priced at $2,400. If you are scratching your head and wondering if something is off, you aren’t alone. Absent mind-blowing noise reduction numbers, these stats are difficult to digest. We’ll pass on more information as soon as it becomes available.

The advances in technology for accessories mean nothing without a solid platform on which to mount them. While high-end thin handguards can be plenty strong, some people still prefer the tank-ish quad rails of old. As someone who just ditched mine earlier this year, I get it. TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #79: Training Trends with Mo from Raven Wing Limited

Getting solid firearms training has simultaneously become easier than ever but also more difficult than ever. While there are a ton of great training companies out there, for every good one there are probably half a dozen other ones peddling either unsafe or ineffectual training for their customers. Mo, Raven Wing Limited, and the network of trainers that they’ve managed to collaborate with are some of the best in the business and offer a wide variety of training ranging from fairly basic firearms manipulation skills to advanced pistol and carbine courses, as well as private consultations and even night vision courses. Based out of Los Angeles California, you’d think that Raven Wing would face a lot of competition but in fact, it is quite the opposite: Raven Wing often brings in other trainers and hosts them to bring both their customers more refined training from living legends like Scott Jedlinski from the Modern Samurai Project, Tim Herron Shooting, or JJ Racaza who you might remember being on TFBTV several times. Today I’ve brought on Mo to talk about some of the most pronounced training trends he’s noticed in the firearms world today and what times of guns, optics, and holsters people are using to train for competition and self-defense nearly a quarter of the way through the 21st century.
