This is not an April Fool’s Joke. About 3 weeks ago, Anderson Manufacturing launched a new custom shop with a whole line of custom-built Remington 700 rifles (and one Model Seven) that feature various stocks, bolts, barrels, and chamberings. The new custom shop at Anderson is supposed to have its own gunsmiths, and manufacturing cell that solely focuses on these new custom builds. Anderson is obviously intending to expand the custom shop offerings beyond the inaugural Remington Classics line, but for now, there are about two dozen different offerings in the shop.

The Glock 43X and 48 have been some of the most popular carry guns as of late, often considered some of the best options on the market among other carry pistols of the same class like the SIG P365, Springfield Hellcat, and the S&W Shield Plus. Pretty much all of these handguns, save for the latest iteration of the SIG P365, are nice and compact, and have a higher capacity than previous generations of carry pistols, but somewhat suffer in the recoil department simply because of the reduced weight. Compensators are one way to improve the recoil characteristics without really sacrificing much in the concealment department and that’s why Backup Tactical is proud to introduce their newest Perfect Fit PROComp, this time for the Glcok 43X and Glock 48.

Nightforce has added some new MRAD reticle options. The Mil-XT reticle is now offered for their 4-14×50 SHV F1 scope, and the Tremor 5 is available in two models. Let’s zoom in on these new reticles to see what they offer.

Zenith Firearms has been making roller-delayed blowback firearms for a number of years now after they separated from MKE. They just announced their latest roller-delayed blowback firearm. The ZF-56 is a firearm chambered in 5.56 and appears to be a hybrid of typical roller-delayed rifles like the HK93 and an AR-15.

Delta Optical officially launched the Stryker HD 1-10×28 on October 17th. This optic was announced earlier this year but is now available. Let’s check out the features it brings to the market.

This year I had the distinct pleasure of meeting the power couple that is Paige and Jaxon at Finnish Brutality 2023, who not only rocked the match with their shooting skills but also injected an infectious energy into their gear presentations and general attitudes during the match. Both Paige and Jaxon enthusiastically participated in the highly popular extra “LARP” category, allowing contestants to embody a variety of themed characters from history or fiction. This creative freedom resulted in some delightfully entertaining and amusing costumes from both of them. Notably, Jaxon, formerly in the Army and now formerly associated with Weapon Outfitters, has transitioned into managing a well-known gun range in Washington State but still keeps his passion for shooting and mil-spec equipment alive. On the other hand, Paige operates a highly successful online art business, seamlessly merging elements of popular culture with firearms in her artwork. While Paige may be most renowned for her more explicit creations, she also offers family-friendly items such as hats, shirts, prints, and stickers in her online store with less racy subjects. Shooting alongside Paige and Jaxon at Finnish Brutality 2023 was an absolute delight, and I am pumped to have them as our guests today on TFB’s Behind The Gun Podcast. High-definition thermal Imaging is here, in the shape of the Pulsar Thermion 2 LRF XL50 riflescope. Pulsar’s first HD thermal riflescope also includes a laser rangefinder, which can be connected to a ballistic calculator and deliver on-screen aiming.

Angstadt Arms makes AR-style firearms mostly focusing on pistol caliber carbines (PCC). Well, they just announced a new style of PCC lower that features a modular magwell. Angstadt Arms calls it the AXL-9 receiver.

If you are of the concealed carry crowd, you know how important it is to have a lot of options in the way of holsters. I, personally, only have 2 – 3 handguns in rotation for concealed carry (depending on the day’s tasks and my outfit) yet I probably have 30+ holsters. So, that is why it is always good news to hear manufacturers coming out with more and more fits for common, popular handguns. One of the newest offerings to hit the CCW market are additional fits for the Blackhawk Stache line of Inside-the-Waistband (IWB) holsters which can now accommodate the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro and SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro.

Now, you can get the  Galco Scout 3.0 Strongside/Crossdraw IWB holster for your SIG Sauer P365 whether it has a micro red dot mounted on top of it or not.

Japan has ordered more than 300 new Carl Gustaf recoilless rifles. This represents the latest in a series of procurements that will modernize Japan’s infantry weapons. Other recent procurements include the new Type 20 rifle and the HK SFP9.

New Colt Pythons are officially out in the wild as Colt has created 3 new offerings by adding in Hogue grips along with a bead blast stainless finish. The common barrel lengths of 3″, 4.25″, and 6″ are still available in these new Python offerings with a more comfortable choice of a rubber grip as opposed to their walnut grips.

The infamous Taurus Judge 45 LC/.410 Bore revolver has been getting a lot more interesting lately with the addition of the new long-barreled Home Defender model, and now the new optics-ready Judge TORO. The T.O.R.O (Taurus Optics Ready Option) lineup has been steadily growing to include more and more of both Taurus’ new firearms as well as their legacy firearms like the much talked about Judge revolver. Options will include stainless steel models, as well as magnum models capable of handling 3″ .410 shotshells.

There is a load of shotgun shells out there that can completely change the task that your shotgun is capable of handling. Duplex loads can often help bridge the gap between two different tasks or ranges. Remington’s new Nitro-Steel Duplex load is a new high-velocity shot shell loaded with two different sizes of shot. At the time of launch, there will be two available shot combinations, with two additional shot combinations coming at a later date.

Within the last couple of weeks, Weatherby released a number of new products including new versions of their bolt-action rifles such as the Model 370 MeatEater,  Mark V High Country and Vanguard Outfitter. The rifle we are taking a look at in this article, Weatherby Vanguard Talus, is the final launch in this series of new product announcements. This new Vanguard is similar to  Vanguard High Country but features an updated Cerekote hand-applied sponge paint and a spiral-fluted barrel.

HEVI-Shot Ammunition has announced that they have new offerings of their HEVI-Bismuth Upland game loads available for hunters this fall. Now, the same HEVI-Bismuth pellets that we have come to know – that are 22% more dense than steel – are available in even more offerings to bag grouse, pheasant, woodcock, and all types of upland birds this upcoming season.

Smith & Wesson already has a pistol caliber carbine (PCC) on the market in their FPC (Folding Pistol Carbine), but it lacked something… something that we as the gun community childishly ask for in everything: “Does it take Glock mags?!” Well, consider your prayer answered because the new Smith & Wesson Response 9mm Carbine takes Glock magazines as well as standard doublestack M&P mags.

On today’s episode of TFB’s Behind The Gun Podcast, we brought back our friend Print Shoot Repeat (PRS) to talk about his experiences at Finnish Brutality 2023. PSR wound up being my battle buddy for most of the Breacher events at the competition so I had an excellent chance to see what he was capable of both on the range and hard at work doing all of our various conscript tasks. Today PSR and I dive into both our experiences at Finnish Brutality 2023, our thoughts on Finland, Brutality, and the unique culture that we had the pleasure of experiencing during our time in the country.

Introduced in the late 90s, the Steyr Scout bolt action rifle was designed in collaboration with Colonel Jeff Cooper and arguably represents the best execution of Col Cooper’s scout rifle concept. A quarter a century later, this rifle is not only alive but is evolving as Steyr Arms have just released the Steyr Scout II. The new rifle retains all the scout rifle criteria specified by Col Cooper but has a couple of design changes, most notably a new aluminum chassis/receiver with an integrated bedding block, full-length top Picatinny rail and M-LOK slots.

Franklin Armory is now shipping their G-S173 Glock binary trigger and slide system. It converts a Gen 3 Glock 17 to fire on the pull and release of the trigger. Let’s take a closer look. 

SIG Sauer have released the bigger version of their CROSS rifle, the CROSS Magnum. Although the new rifle is currently available chambered in 300 Win Mag only, which is a standard/long action length cartridge, the CROSS Magnum actually has a magnum size action as according to SIG Sauer, the receiver length is capable of extending all the way up to 300 PRC, which is a magnum action length cartridge.
