The U.K. might be considered the Old World by us Americans, but the U.K. Royal Marines are on the absolute cutting edge with their newest DMR. Specifically, the Royal Marines have adopted an LMT AR-10-type rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor with HUXWRX suppressors and the Leupold Mk5 HD – a wonderful combo.
The Royal Marines, along with the British Army’s Rangers, also recently selected the KAC KS-1 as the L403A1 Alternative Individual Weapon.

Georgia-based firearms manufacturer 21st Tec is proud to introduce their new rifle that combines the 7.62×29 cartridge with the DPMS/LR308 AR10 platform – the TEC47 rifle. The TEC47 uses some unique parts to allow the rifle to feed from common AK mags, and cycle reliably with the 7.62x39mm cartridge. These rifles are in current production and will be selling for a suggested MSRP of $1,399 beginning on September 29th of this year.

Accuracy X, Inc., a company known for handcrafted 1911s that typically cost more than most teenagers’ first and maybe even second cars has some new items coming to market. For those unaware, Accuracy X makes some incredibly high-end firearms. They started out with 1911s, then moved on to other firearms like Glocks and even bolt action rifles. Now they are making 2011 pistols as are many of the other custom 1911 manufacturers like Nighthawk Customs and Chambers Customs.

Love it or hate it, the GBRS Group HYDRA mount is an optics and LAM riser that certainly has had a polarizing effect on the Gun Community. UK-based Shield Sights have announced their expansion into a bigger manufacturing facility. The 26,000-square-foot factory will be refurbished over the next year and once they move in, they will be able to streamline production bringing manufacture, testing and shipping under one roof.

For the past few days, Heckler & Koch Germany has been teasing their new HK 421, a newly developed compact and lightweight machine gun. At DSEI 2023 in London (12-15 September 2023), an exhibition with over 2,800 defence and security suppliers, it was finally unveiled in various configurations.

Beretta have unveiled their new rifle, the New Assault Rifle Platform or NARP. Chambered in 5.56×45 NATO, the NARP program has developed an AR-pattern rifle that uses a short-stroke gas piston system and a rotating bolt locking system. According to EDR, NARP is the name of the development program rather than the rifle itself, with the weapon to be named at a later date.

These uppers are chambered in 5.56x45mm NATO and are available in three barrel length options – 16″, 13.7″ and 11.5″. Sadly, it seems that Windham Weaponry is closing its doors for good. They broke the news in a statement posted on their website on Monday, September 11, 2023. They will cease taking web orders on September 12th.

SIG Sauer has issued a safety bulletin regarding light-bearing holsters. Without naming any specific model of handgun, SIG is warning end users that holsters that accommodate weapon-mounted lights have larger openings and can cause unintentional discharges. This safety bulletin comes against a background of recurrent claims that the P320 fires without the trigger being pulled, including a recent video from a police station where a P320 fired while in a holster.
