One of the most popular micro-compact pistols in the nation has just become a bit more accessible to even more Americans with the launch of the new CA Compliant SIG Sauer P365. The new California-compliant P365 obviously had to go through the rigorous maze that is the California Roster of Certified Handguns.  Aside from the live-fire testing procedures, the pistol also has to be capped at 10 rounds, and feature a loaded chamber indicator, and a magazine disconnect.

Today’s guest is one that followers of our YouTube channel should at least be familiar with – Munitionworks. Munitionworks is a boutique firearm producer specializing in “best bang for your buck” rifles featuring solid core components, and peripheral components you can swap out later on as your build progresses. Walther Arms have added another semi-auto pistol to their catalog of defensive products. It was just announced a few weeks ago that Federal Premium had debuted a new Copper Plated 1 Buck Home Defense/Field load of shotgun shells providing the dual purpose of being able to hunt game as well as defend. Now, Federal Premium is once again announced another selection with Power-Shok 1 Buck providing that same type of versatility.

Kel-Tec has a new Short-Barreled Rifle called the R50 Defender. It combines the P50 pistol and the R50 Rifle into one product. Kel-Tec calls it a “lightweight, compact and versatile rifle”, chambered in 5.7x28mm with a magazine capacity of 50 rounds.

SIG Sauer have announced that their ROMEO-M17 pistol red dot sight has been given a NATO Stock Number (NSN). NSN 1240-01-713-9795 was developed for the U.S. Army’s Modular Handgun System program, which adopted the SIG P320 as the M17. NATO Stock Numbers are 13-digit numbers that help standardize supply across the NATO alliance, they are assigned by the National Codification Bureau.

Faxon Firearms have announced the availability of their new bolt action product line called  FX7 which was first shown at SHOT 2023. The Faxon FX7 product family includes the FX7 Pershing bolt action rifle, barreled actions, receiver assemblies and pre-fit barrels. Brownells first introduced their BRN-180 line of AR-18/AR-180 pattern upper receiver assemblies at SHOT Show 2019. Back then, these uppers were available chambered in 5.56/223 only however later on the company added 7.62×39 and .300 Blackout versions. Well, Brownells keep expanding the chambering options for the BRN-180 family of uppers and have just added a version chambered in 350 Legend. Hornady’s 2023 releases continue with a new line of ammunition loaded with a new projectile. The new V-Match (no relation to the old school Bushmaster rifle) ammunition is match-grade but also optimized for varminting, thanks to the ELD-VT bullet. Let’s take a closer look. 

Introduced at SHOT Show 2023, the Stag Arms Pursuit bolt action rifle is now available. This is a Remington 700 footprint rifle that will be initially offered chambered in .308 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor  and 6.5 PRC. Pulsar have a long history with Thermal Imaging Binoculars, with models like the Accolade and the Merger – all reviewed by TFB of course. It’s now time for a more compact Merger, called the Merger LRF XQ35, which has a lot of features to become a perfect companion for hunters and rescue workers. The new, compact Merger uses a European-made thermal sensor, with 384×288 pixels @ 17 µm and a sensitivity of < 25 mK NETD. Apart from the thermal capability, there is also an integrated Laser Range Finder which is said to reach out to 1 kilometer.

German GunWorks is at it again! This time the project is a Heckler & Koch MR223A3C in Flecktarn Nacht. As many of you will know, Flecktarn (German pronunciation: [ˈflɛktaʁn]) is the official camouflage pattern of the “Bundeswehr” (German Army). Nacht means night in German, so we’re looking at a sort of MultiCam Black, but in a German interpretation. The MR223 A3C comes with an 11″ barrel length, and has undergone several hours of customization and the replacement parts list is extreme – passing beyond 6,500 €.

Once a niche cartridge only supported by one company, the 5.7×28 is becoming mainstream. Hornady is the latest contender to join the fray with two new ammunition choices. Let’s take a look at what they bring to the table. 

I absolutely love shooting competitions and the more I go to them the more I hear about other ones that I have to attend to cross off my bucket list. Today we get to learn about another action-style shooting competition that some old guests of the show have recently participated in – the 2023 Hesco Zombie Invitational. Hornady has a new .22-caliber Advanced Rifle Cartridge, the aptly-named 22 ARC. It joins the 6mm ARC in Hornady’s family of specialized cartridges for the AR platform. Right out of the gate, Hornady has three different factory loads available.

The new Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro OSP Threaded in a Desert FDE colorway has all the bells and whistles to trick it out to your liking and make it ready for your style of everyday carry.

Joining the ranks among a few other notable names within the bullpup shotgun scene is the new Escort BullTac pump-action bullpup shotgun. The new shotgun is capable of running up to 3″ shells, sports a standard length 18″ barrel, and an overall length of just 27.75 inches. Other features include a fixed cylinder choke, oxidation-resistant chrome-plated steel barrel, and a completely detachable carry handle.

Colorado-based Swampfox Optics have announced the Sentinel II Micro Dot Sight. Available in red or green illumination, the Sentinel II has 10 brightness levels, shake awake initiation and a 20mm lens with a 3 MOA dot. Swampfox says the slimline Sentinel II has a 50,000-hour battery life and a 7075-T6 aluminum body and reinforced hood. MSRP for the new red dot is $269 with Blackout Rear Sight Guide, and $299 with Tritium.

Occluded shooting is a method of target acquisition practiced mostly among sport shooters, but was developed much earlier for the same purpose – rapid target acquisition while maintaining target-focused rather than dot or sight-focused. A big problem that a lot of shooters, even seasoned ones have when switching from shooting irons to red dots is that it is all too easy to get sucked into the dot and become entirely focused on that rather than on your target. This is where occluded shooting comes in and why Strike Industries has bothered to give you an option rather than tape to slap onto your red dot to practice – the Strike Optic Cover for the Holosun 407/507 and Trijicon SRO.

Months ago I was able to check out the Haley Strategic and Safariland IncogX. The new holster meant for the Glock 19 pistol originally, was always meant to have more fits and today Safariland has announced that the IncogX can now host the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro. The P365 X-Macro was introduced about a year ago and is the highest capacity evolution of the P365 lineup of micro-compact 9mm pistols. The IncogX is an updated version of the previous iteration of the original Incog IWB holster, with the new holster featuring a new suede outer coating, and an adjustable wedge for improved concealment.
