Today SilencerCo has announced an immediate safety recall for OMEGA 300, OMEGA 36M, HYBRID 46, HYBRID 46M, and HARVESTER EVO purchased between June 1, 2023, through October 9, 2023, including ones sent to SilencerCo dealers. SilencerCo recently discovered a welding defect on these specific models of suppressors that could pose a threat to the user through catastrophic failure of the suppressor. SilencerCo has recommended that you immediately stop using your suppressor if it is indicated that it falls within the safety recall window, which you can check by entering your serial number on this page. Silencer manufacturer Griffin Armament is getting into the optics game. Their first two products are a 1-8x LPVO and an enclosed micro red dot.

The Danish National Police have selected the SIG Sauer P320 as the replacement for the HK USP Compact currently in service. The USP Compacts have been in service for 25 years, the new pistols will be procured through SIG Sauer’s Danish representatives CT Solutions. The model of P320 and the number of pistols to be procured has not been announced, however, the Danish National Police has over 11,000 officers. The Danish Army selected the SIG Sauer P320 X-Carry in 2018.

Enclosed emitter reflex sights are all the rage these days but few companies have put forward a green dot version meant for handguns, that is until now. The new Viridian OPMOD Omega Green Do t will come standard with several different mounts so you can use it either on a native ACRO footprint or adapt it for use on an RMR footprint using the included adapter plate. The Omega Green Dot is currently only being offered in a 5 MOA dot reticle version and has a stated maximum battery life of up to 50 thousand hours.

Munitionworks recently announced the release of the J.O.E. Carbine Mk2 rifle. The Mk2 series is intended to be a logical improvement over the previous offerings with new thermal fit uppers, better parts selection, and the same great affordable pricing paired with the quality control that Munitionworks offers. Today they’ve announced the introduction of the new DISSIDENT Mk2 rifle, which is a more premium option over the J.O.E. Carbine that features similar improvements made to the line based on customer feedback.

The Hungarian government and Beretta Holding have entered into an agreement to establish ammunition manufacturing in Hungary. The Hungarian armed forces are looking to locally produce both 7.62x51mm and 12.7mm (.50 BMG) ammunition for their armored vehicle fleet. The letter of intent will lead to the establishment of new production lines which will provide secure local production of widely used NATO machine gun ammunition.

Poland’s FB Radom have celebrated their 100,000 MSBS Grot coming off the production line. The Grot was developed in the mid-2000s and entered production in 2017, with it entering service with the Polish armed forces in 2018, first with the Polish Territorial Defence Forces. It has also been used in large numbers by the Ukrainian armed forces since 2022. The rifle has gone through a number of iterations since entering service with an A3/M3 model in the works and the 7.62x51mm designated marksman rifle, the Grot 762N, also preparing for large-scale production.

Modular Driven Technology is now shipping their Field Stock for Ruger American short action rifles. This stock is a drop-in replacement for the factory stock but with added features. Let’s take a look. 

SIG Sauer has two new models of rifle scopes intended for DMR use. The Tango-DMR series comes in at a price point below the Tango 6 line but above the Tango-MSR family. Let’s take a closer look at the features. 

Who doesn’t want one of those Barrett M107A1 in .50BMG? Now, that curb appeal is getting kicked up even higher with color options of Desert FDE (Flat Dark Earth), OD Green (Olive Drab Green), and Gray.

Red dots and reflex sights were initially intended to be used only on rifles and carbines. Fast forward to today and nearly everyone has adopted the red dot and pistol concept, or is at the very least, aware of it. However, the market for rifle-mounted reflex sights has received a bit more interest as of late and that’s why American Defense Manufacturing is excited to announce their new Vortex Defender-CCW Red Dot packages which will include your choice of a mount fit for whatever long gun or shotgun you want it on and at the height that is most optimal for your specific setup.

French arms manufacturer Verney-Carron, through its defense brand Lebel, has signed a framework contract with Ukrspecexport, a Ukrainian state-owned arms trading company, for a substantial number of small arms. The contract covers carbines, precision rifles and 40mm grenade launchers.

The “tacticalization” of lever-action rifles continues, with the new Marlin Dark Series hitting the market. The new Dark Series will have three rifles based on the three lever-actions sold under the Marlin name. At this point, the Model 1895 in .45-70 Government is the only example currently available, but Dark Series rifles based on the Model 1894 in .44 Magnum are coming, along with a model based on the Model 336 in .30-30.

Firearms like Caracal’s CAR816 A2, the CAR814 A2 Patrol and MOE rifles are soon to be found under KROLL International’s umbrella. Furthermore, you will also be able to find the Enhanced F 9mm pistol, the CMP9 9x19mm and the Lynx-DS pistols. Caracal’s new CSR sniper rifle is also included in the new strategic partnership signed between Caracal and KROLL International.

Partizan Solutions is expanding its line of micro red dot mounts for the Trijicon ACOG family. The newest models are compatible with LED ACOGs like the TA-02 and TA-110. Let’s take a closer look. 

Slow Mo Guys have been making some great firearm-related content with their high-speed cameras. Their latest video was inspired by an old video from 2009 of some really detailed footage of bullets smashing into steel filmed at 1 million frames per second. They try their hand at filming bullets vs steel and film it up to 800,000 frames per second.

Hornady’s new 2024 releases are not limited to cartridges, bullets, and ammunition. There are also new additions to the range of gun storage options. The Mobilis series of safes are modular and available in various sizes. Also new is a range of welded gun cabinets in varying sizes.

Our friends at Silencer Central sent over the details on H.R. 6352, the Tax Stamp Revenue Transfer for Wildlife and Recreation Act. This proposed bill would redirect National Firearms Act (NFA) making and transfer taxes from being deposited into the general treasury fund to wildlife conservation programs and NFA application processing enhancements. As the NFA tax collection stands, proceeds are not used for any specific purpose and are instead deposited into the treasury.

Compensated pistols and ported slides and barrels are becoming increasingly popular across the handgun market and for good reason – they work. The SIG Sauer P320-XTEN COMP is SIG’s offering to those who like to carry around the power of a 10mm semi-auto pistol, but want something more controllable. SIG claims that with the P320-XTEN COMP’s new bull barrel and ported slide, there is a 20% reduction in recoil making it easier to shoot with hot 10mm ammunition.
