Canik USA recently unveiled a new line within the METE series of pistols, the Canik METE Pro, which has a few additional features over the standard line. The new Canik METE Pro series will feature aggressive slide serrations, a fluted and threaded stainless steel barrel, a front night sight, and a 90-degree trigger profile. The SFx METE Pro is distinguishable by its longer slide and barrel, which measures 5.74 inches, while the SFT METE Pro has a slightly shorter slide with a 5-inch barrel, and both METE Pro’s slides have a noticeable, styled notch just aft of the muzzle. Springfield Armory has announced optics-cut replacement slides for the XD series of handguns. These optics-ready slides are drop-in replacements for current XD owners who want to add a red dot to their slide without obtaining an aftermarket milling job.

Kalashnikov USA has just announced and made available their new Kommander rifle, a sporterized version of their already popular KR-103 rifle. Evoking the formerly cheap and easy-to-find unconverted Saiga rifle, it’s obviously targeted at states like California where pistol grips and standard capacity magazines are a no-no.

Midwest Industries Inc. recently announced their three new parts for the Benelli M4 shotgun, also known as the M1014 as named for the United States Marines. The new products Midwest Industries dished out are an optic mount, specifically for an Aimpoint T and H series red dot sights, an enhanced charging handle, and an M-LOK handguard. OEM parts supplier Unbranded AR has released a new stripped lower receiver with throwback markings. Nothing ruins a good carry handle build like a rollmark with the wrong vibes, but this one will blend right in. 

It is time for another project from German GunWorks, the Zero Compromise Optics ZC527 Jaguar. The basis for this rifle is a Haenel RS9 long-range rifle in .338 Lapua Magnum. More or less everything was revised by the Swabian company, for instance, they replaced all the Allen screws with Torx. Furthermore, the rifle was disassembled and blasted to make a perfect surface for a new custom Cerakote finish. It’s important to take care of the layer thickness of the new coating so that tolerances can be kept.

Glock enthusiasts rejoice, there’s a new Field Toolkit for Glock pistols from Fit It Sticks around. Some of the specialized tools included are front sight tool, base plate removal tool and a channel liner tool. There are also a number of parts and bits which can come in handy for the overall cleaning and maintenance of the handgun. The MSRP is $184 and the kit comes in a soft zippered carrying case.

Indian Creek Design’s Sportsman’s Anti-Cant Shroud “SACS” is a machined aluminum bolt shroud for the Ruger American Rifle that also incorporates a bubble level that helps the shooter to keep the rifle level while shooting. Affixing bubble levels to rifles has been happening for some time in the precision rifle community, but Indian Creek Design has come up with their own solution to place the level directly behind the bore. This is done by replacing the plastic bolt shroud on the Ruger American Rifle, with their own aluminum shroud, placing the level in a way that lets the shooter keep a good cheek weld on the rifle to line up the shot, and see the level with the same eye. Fällkniven AB is a family-owned company from northern Sweden, located close to the arctic circle. The name means “folding knife” and the business was founded in 1984. In 1987 they started developing their own knives. Their G1 Garm Fighter knife was first released in 2001 and sold until the end of 2015. The company is now reintroducing this knife.

Primary Arms recently announced their new RS-10 Mini Reflex Sight, which is part of their ruggedized SLx optics lineup. The new SLx RS-10 miniature red dot has a 7075 aluminum housing with a 1x23mm reflex window that’s also night vision compatible. The SLx RS-10, Primary Arms’ first mini reflex sight has a reported battery life of 40,000 hours, no doubt assisted by the “autolive” function. JP Rifles introduced their ASF-20 Ambidextrous AR-15 Billet Lower Receiver in 2020, and it somehow slipped past the lidless eye of TFB. Ambidextrous, or ambi AR-15 lower receivers have been cropping up in recent years, which give shooters more flexibility in manipulating their rifle controls without having to shift the rifle to one side or another, or awkwardly reposition one’s hand regardless of which shoulder the rifle is up against. The primary benefits of ambi controls on an AR-15 would be for users that need to maneuver tight spaces, and thus change which shoulder they fire from, or to have a shared defensive rifle being used by left and right handed people. Thirty-one years after the creation of the Ultima Ratio, the first rifle of the brand, the French company PGM Precision reinvents and upgrades their classical sniper rifle. The rifle is intended for both operational and sporting shooters. Initially designed for French police snipers, the Ultima Ratio is a high-precision rifle capable of handling targets up to 1000 meters. The rifle was designed for .308 Winchester, but it’s now available in a long list of calibers like 6.5 Creedmoor, 6XC and .260 Rem.

The Texas-based  iRay USA has released a new thermal rifle scope line, called the InfiRay Outdoor BOLT-C Series. These new rifle scopes have a traditional look and use a standard 30mm ring mounting interface. The thermal sensor is a powerful 12 μm 640×512 Micro II where the results are displayed on a 2560×2560 Micro-OLED HD display. The Bolt-C Series rifle scopes use a shutterless calibration and will be offered in two versions, the TH50C with a 50mm objective lens and the TH35C which uses a 35mm objective lens.

The U.S. Army has awarded SIG Sauer a contract to manufacture .300 Norma Magnum and .338 Norma Magnum ammunition. The order is a follow-on purchase for the Advanced Sniper Rifle (ASR) program, and has a $157MM maximum value contract and includes 4.5MM rounds for the first delivery. Specifically, the U.S. Army ASR ammunition contract consists of two cartridges: the M1163, which is a .300NM, 215 grain round, and the M1162, an armor-piercing 338NM, 300 grain round.

The new version of the FN Five-seveN handgun is now called the FN Five-seveN MRD. Just a week after FN Herstal released their completely new FN HiPer Pistol in 9×19, it’s time for a new model from FN America, this time in 5.7x28mm NATO. The new MRD comes in black or flat dark earth (FDE) colors and it’s compatible with almost any mini red dot sight.

FN America have announced the introduction of a new addition to their FN 509 series of polymer-framed pistols. The FN 509 Midsize Tactical comes in black and FDE with FN’s ‘Low-Profile Optics-Mounting System’ and weighs in at 27.9 oz.

FN Herstal is announcing a brand-new 9x19mm handgun called FN HiPer. The new handgun is mainly dedicated to armed forces and law enforcement. The pistol has been designed and developed in Belgium, where it will also be manufactured.

FN America will be displaying MultiCam SCARs at the 151st NRA Annual Meeting. The rifles are the same as usual – SCAR 16S, 17S and the 20S commercial variants – with Crye Precision’s original MultiCam pattern applied hydrographically to the receiver and the trigger module frame.

Trijicon has a new series of optic mounts with their Q-LOC technology. These mounts can be used with Trijicon red dots, thermal optics, and a wide range of riflescopes. The mounts are made in the USA and are manufactured from 6061-T6 aluminum. According to Trijicon, it is possible to remove and re-mount your optic with a Q-LOC mount without the need to confirm zero.

Not too long ago Shield Arms released the S15 Magazine for the Glock 43X. This revolutionary little mag brought the 10rd capacity of the slim pistol to 15, in line with its fatter older brother, the Glock 19. On the 18th of May, Shield Arms will be adding the Glock 43 Z9 magazine to their lineup. As the name implies, this is for the standard Glock 43 and brings the capacity up to 9 rounds in a mag that’s the same size as the OEM mag with a pinky extension. Our favorite guntuber  James Reeves has a video showcasing this new mag. I suggest you give it a watch.

Once upon a time 5.7x28mm was only chambered by two guns: the FN PS90 and the FN 5.7, a very niche round if there ever was one. Eventually, AR uppers were introduced, and Ruger introduced their 57 pistol. This of course broadened the market and made it easier and more affordable for anyone to own a firearm in the blistering little cartridge. Now after introducing it at SHOT Show 2022, Palmetto State Armory has finally released the 5.7 Rock pistol to the market at a rather affordable price of $499.

I know what you’re thinking, “Didn’t TFB already cover the WBP Jack back in December?” Yes, we did. But this is a new version of that rifle. The WBP Jack SR deletes the side rail mount for optics bringing it in line with how the AKM was originally issued. So I see this more for those who want a more early AKM clone correct rifle or plan on running a dust cover rail, or UltiMAK setup for an optic.

Volker Precision recently announced an upcoming trigger housing for Ruger 10/22 rifles (and Charger pistols) that includes an updated magazine well profile that accepts KelTec CP33 magazines. Volker Precision’s owner, Chris, has stated that their VP33 Trigger Housing will be up for preorder in two weeks, but there’s no mention yet on pricing. Current 10/22 capacity options from Ruger are, 1, 5, 10, 15, and 25 round magazines, whereas the new VP33 configuration will utilize the 33 round capacity from the quad-stack Keltec magazines. Volker Precision is also launching their own chassis system for the 10/22.

The 1911, despite being as old as Bilbo Baggins on the day he left the shire for Rivendell never to return, has somehow managed to remain one of the most popular handguns in the US. Springfield Armory has been producing this iconic handgun since it opened its doors in 1974, and with the introduction of the Emissary 4.25 it doesn’t look like that will change any time soon. Offered up as a more compact and carry friendly (38.5oz though) option to their existing Emissary 1911.

Well, that was sudden. Out of nowhere, it seems that IWI has released a new version of the IWI Masada handgun – the Masada Slim. This new pistol was announced via the company’s social media outlets on Friday and looks to be up to date with all the features and specifications that other major handgun manufacturers have set as the standard for this new breed of concealed carry pistols. A few months ago Beretta released in Europe the semiautomatic version of its newest submachine gun, the PMX. This civilian version of the new main firearm of the Italian Carabinieri, named PMXs, had no known delivery schedule to the USA. We now have confirmation that it will soon reach the American market.
