The new lighter-weight version of the MCX incorporates features from both the M5 Spear NGSW rifle and the original MCX Virtus. It’s also available in a new caliber option… but I’ll let Phil Strader tell you about that.

This new line of rifles adds some new functionality and features to the MCX Virtus design as well as a somewhat surprising new chambering – 7.62x39mm.

COMPENSATE YOURSELF: Introducing the FN 509 CC Edge Carry Pistol
Shooters who use compensators on their carry guns swear by them; directing the muzzle blast of a short, lightweight pistol can help to increase speed, accuracy, and control. It makes sense – the physics of mass, velocity and trajectories will dictate muzzle rise and the time it takes to get back on target. FN is announcing a new compensated 9mm carry pistol called the FN 509 CC Edge. Obviously focused on the concealed carry market, FN is bringing the use of compensators to the broader market, focusing on speed, accuracy, versatility, and control. 5.7mm on the Rise? Ruger Releases the New 5.7x28mm LC Carbine
The 5.7x28mm is quite an interesting cartridge. Developed in the 80s at the behest of NATO as an intended replacement for the long-lived 9×19 cartridge, 5.7 promised to have better range, better accuracy, greater capacity firearms, and better terminal performance – even against lightly armored targets. However, almost 40 years later, the 5.7x28mm cartridge is still somewhat obscurity with very few firearms being chambered for it in comparison to 9mm which has seen vast improvements and widespread adoption by law enforcement, military, and civilians. However, despite all this, 5.7x28mm isn’t dead yet and today we’re receiving a new firearm for the hot little cartridge in the form of the new Ruger LC Carbine.
Caveman Spark AR-15 Crush Washers That Change Color When Hot
Earlier this year, Caveman LLC introduced a series of crush washers for AR-15s that change to bright colors when the barrel starts to heat up past 131 degrees F (55 degrees C). Caveman states that the intended idea behind their Spark AR-15 Crush Washers is to warn shooters when the barrel is too hot to touch or store, and at which point accuracy might start to decline, thus changing from black to one of four bright colors. The new Spark AR-15 Crush Washers are available in white, orange, green, and purple. Caveman LLC’s description can be read below.
