There are so many folding stocks and stabilizers that I would love to try. Unfortunately, all of my ARs have a pesky buffer tube. Smith & Wesson has just announced an upgrade to the popular M&P9 M2.0 line of carry and duty pistols. With raised sights and the C.O.R.E. mounting plates, the upgraded M&P9 M2.0 is micro red dot sight (MRDS) optic-ready. Over three years ago, we announced that the Houston Police Department had approved slide-mounted optics for duty use. Since then, dozens of local, state, and federal agencies have made policy adjustments to allow the sight upgrades. The update also includes S&W’s new flat trigger. Kimber have announced a range of improvements across their Micro 9 range of subcompact carry pistols. The news features include a mini compensator (the MC), new finishes and optics ready slides. The Micro 9 range has also expanded with several 3.15in RAPIDE pistols. Finally, Kimber have also introduced a new 7-round ‘Tac-Mag’ for the standard Micro 9 range.

Mounting options for silencers have grown in number over the past few years. With an endless number of thread pitches and directions, some have sought to improve upon the current system. I still live that quad rail life. I have a lot of Picatinny rail on my AR, and a few cables, as well. DRD Tactical have announced the introduction of the MFP-21, a multi-calibre pistol which can be chambered in .300 BLK and 5.56mm. It has an interchangeable barrel, quick takedown features and comes with an 8″ barrel. The MFP-21 retails for $2,500 and will be available in early January 2022. It is a compact pistol variant of their APTUS (AMG) Rifle.

The easiest way to ensure strength and rigidity in a scope mount is to make it chonky, but then what’s the point in having a lightweight rifle? Finding the perfect balance between strength and weight is the goal, especially when using a magnified optic. Samson Manufacturing’s new Rapid Precision Mounts aim to solve this exact problem. There are so many cool optics available to us as shooters. We can have a whole box full of them, but it doesn’t do us any good if we don’t have a reliable way to mount them. Mounts also come in a variety of flavors. Colors, materials, and mount heights vary greatly from brand to brand, as well as user to user. We all run things differently, and for that reason, we need options. If you use a Trijicon MRO or an Aimpoint ACRO on your carbine, you now have two new mounting options. Arisaka Defense has released two new mounts for both optics, giving shooters the option of a 1.7″ or 1.93″ height.

Thermal Imaging Monoculars are the new black for almost any outdoor life, and the performance you can expect even from a small, relatively cheap device is quickly getting better and better. iRayUSA has now released a new line of Thermal Imaging Monoculars called the Cabin Series. The two models are made to be operated with one hand and include a built-in LED flashlight, which can come in handy. The thermal sensors have a detection range between 1,070 yards and 1,420 yards depending on the model. Both the Cabin CBL19 and the CBL25 Thermal Monoculars have 384×288 pixels, 12μm, sensors.

Springfield Armory have announced two new additions to their Emissary 1911 pistol line. The Emissary 1911 5” 9mm and Emissary 1911 4.25” .45 ACP have forged stainless steel frames and forged carbon steel slides, with a two-tone finish. The forged stainless frame’s front strap and mainspring housing are wrapped in a grenade-pattern texture. The MSRP for both is $1,279.

Suppressor ownership has been steadily increasing as information about them is becoming available to more people. This has led to an increase in companies that produce their own silencers. The latest suppressors introduced to rifle shooters are from Bushmaster Firearms. The company has just released two cans from their all-new Muta line. Welcome the BM556 and BM30 rifle suppressors.

There is a new, entry-level thermal spotter from Pulsar called Axion XM30F. The reason why it’s launched today is that the 3rd of November is a special day for all hunters, as today is Saint Hubert’s Day. Hubertus, or Hubert, (656-727 A.D.) was a Christian saint who is now regarded as the patron saint of hunters, mathematicians, opticians, and metalworkers.

DS Arms might be known for their FALs, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have a few more tricks up their sleeves. They also produce complete firearms, AR uppers, magazines, and optics. The Designated Rifleman Optic (DRO) is the newest magnified optic from the company. Built from one piece of aluminum, this first focal plane scope offers long-range shots at a short-range cost.

Strike Industries is based in California. The restrictions in that hell ho…state have given inspiration to the company for many products that would otherwise not be allowed. Their Megafin was a massive help when running a featureless AR. Using their passion for innovation, the folks at Strike Industries also found a way to give people in restricted states access to pistol compensators. The Mass Driver, a compensator that doesn’t require a threaded barrel, is now available for Gen5 Glock pistols.

Buying several holsters for the same gun, multiplied by multiple firearms, means a lot of dough spent. While there’s no such thing as one holster to fit every need, Bianchi Leather has just released a new holster aimed at cutting down wasted money and space in the holster drawer. Convertible from inside-the-waistband to outside-the-waistband, this is the new Shenandoah OWB/IWB Holster from Bianchi Leather.

Springfield Armory may have just announced the  introduction of an authentic Hi-Power clone but they are also keeping an eye on the more modern side of the market too with an expansion of their XD-S Mod.2 OSP line. Two new XD-S Mod.2 OSP variants – a 3.3-inch .45 ACP and 4-inch 9mm have been announced. Combining the concealability and compact size of a single-stack pistol with optics-ready capability, Springfield Armory are offering the pistols in packages, ready mounted with Crimson Trace red dots. MSRP on the pistol on its own is running at $450 while the added Crimson Trace sight comes in at $550.

Primary Arms recently announced an expansion of their factory in Texas, with a new facility next to their Houston headquarters doubling the size of their warehouse facilities. In this article, we’ll look closer at something smaller, namely their new reticle option for long-range shooting called the ACSS Apollo .308/6.5GRN. This reticle is now available for the SLx 3-18x50mm FFP Rifle Scope. As you know a poor reticle choice can ruin even the best optics, so choose wisely based on your needs.

Any gun should have a holster, and a really nice gun made from iron and wood like the Springfield Armory SA-35 requires something special. Gene DeSantis started making holsters back in 1972 and are now introducing a range of holsters to fit the new SA-35. Personally, I would go with a holster made out of leather for such a pistol, like the DeSantis Speed Scabbard or the Top Cop 2.0 models.
