To the uninitiated, suppressing the 5.56/.223 AR-15 feels like a no-win scenario. As Ted Lasso might say it’s like drinking 3.2% beer as a teenager: half the fun, with all of the headache. In reality, however, a well-engineered 5.56mm suppressor will knock down most of the blast, hold up to blistering abuse, and have minimal impact on the gas system and the cyclic rate. Not only that, but a really good AR-15 suppressor will be lightweight and offer a variety of mounting options. The new Energetic Armament ARX appears to check all of these boxes.

As we add more and more crap onto the handguard of our carbines, things can get a bit messy. Most of what we attach is electronic in nature: weapon lights, IR devices, marital aides, etc. Many of these also have cables. Beretta USA have introduced a new pistol to their venerable 90 series, the red-dot optic-ready 92X RDO. The new Beretta features a slide cut to mount five optics plate options. It also boasts a short reset trigger, front slide serrations and aggressively textured Vertec-style grips. The launch of the 92X RDO comes as an optics-ready M9A4 was introduced last week.

There’s no shortage of new products coming out of the Pulsar factories this autumn. This time anyone looking to transform their riflescope into a night vision device should take a closer look. There are two products in this release: the Forward F455S and the Forward FN455S which comes with the Pulsar 5×30 monocular so you can use the device as a spotter.

AGM Global Vision are adding laser rangefinders to their Rattler series of thermal weapon sights. Anyone who has used a thermal device knows the difficulty to accurately determine the range to objects out in the dark. The addition of a laser rangefinder (LRF) takes out the guesswork, hopefully making it easier to decide if and when to take the shot and where to aim.

Earlier this year Pulsar sent us a really interesting new toy, and it has now been made official. Pulsar calls it a new generation of multispectral binoculars, named Trionyx T3/T3i. With these magic binoculars, you get a combination of thermal, digital night vision and overlay fusion imaging. The Trionyx T3/T3i models are designed for hunting, search and rescue, personal security, and outdoor recreation.

Beretta has just released their latest version of the famous 92 series, the Beretta M9A4, which comes as an improvement over the M9A3. The primary difference between the A3 to the M9A4 is the addition of factory optics cuts on the top of the pistol’s slide, which was previously only achieved via aftermarket services or products. Beretta’s M9A4 webpage states that there are five different optics mounting plates available, and at the time of this publishing, Beretta stated that M9A4 buyers can get an optics plate for free upon registering their pistol.

About two weeks ago, Pulsar teased us with a picture of a new digital sight. At the time no one knew if the technology inside was thermal or digital night vision. It’s now known that the new product is called Pulsar Digex C50 and that it’s a day/night digital riflescope designed to be used 24/7 with a combination of true colour and monochrome images.

The ability to grip your equipment is so important, an entire aftermarket exists for permanently altering firearms to increase purchase. While Mossberg is probably best known for their shotguns, this 102-year-old Connecticut-based manufacturer produces a smattering of handgun and rifle options as well. Their MVP series is a collection of bolt-action rifless divided into Long Range, Scout, Precision, and Patrol subcategories. The Patrol versions are interesting in that they feed from either AR-type or M14/M1A magazines.These rifles also feature Mossberg’s LBA (Lightning Bolt Action) trigger, which is user-adjustable from three to seven pounds. Now Mossberg is adding a new MVP Patrol chambering: .300 Blackout.

Spuhr Ideal Chassis System (SICS) – from what we can see and read the first chassis from Spuhr is a really sixy product. The Swedish company Spuhr are most known for their excellent riflescope mounts, and with this new product, the company enters a new market. The development has taken almost two years and from the peek views we have seen it looks like this is not going to be just another chassis.

CZ-USA has just announced another new version of their P-10 pistol, the CZ P-10 F Competition. Earlier today, CZ-USA released a concealed carry version of the P-10 pistol as well. The CZ P-10 F Competition model was designed with, of course, competitors in mind, and features a longer slide, and thus a longer sight radius, and comes optics ready. The P-10 F Competition also features a titanium nitride coated five-inch barrel that has a slightly wider chamber to accommodate a wide variety of ammunition. CZ-USA’s description can be seen below.

Brownells are celebrating Labor Day with a sale and a new rifle. Partnering with Foxtrot Mike Products to offer the Gen II FM-15 Zhukov, a rifle with a self-contained recoil mechanism meaning the rifle can use the side-folding Magpul Zhukov stock. The rifle has a forward, side-switchable, nonreciprocating charging handle and an MSRP of $1,049.99. Brownells Labor Day sale will be running from 2-6 September.

HK USA are bringing some serious German fun this fall with the introduction of a rimfire version of their iconic MP5. Ideal for backyard .22LR plinking or more serious range training, the new MP5 .22s offer an authentic feel and controls to the real centrefire deal. The rimfire MP5 are made in Germany, under license, by Umarex and have an MSRP of $479.

CZ has just announced their newest version of the P-10 pistol, the P-10 M, which is configured as a “micro-compact” pistol marketed for concealed carry. The CZ P-10 M is imported from the factory in the Czech Republic, which released this model last year overseas. The M model of the P-10 family has a capacity of 7(+1) rounds. Interestingly, CZ opted to omit the usual external controls such as a slide stop and safety, save the trigger and magazine release. The new CZ P-10 M is also marketed as being very simple to disassemble for cleaning, just by removing the take-down pin. CZ also reduced the P-10 M’s width to one inch, which is a quarter of an inch slimmer than the rest of the P-10 series. CZ’s description of the CZ P-10 M can be read below.

Savage Arms have announced the addition of half a dozen new products to their line including a left-handed version of their 110 Ultralite and a new defensive semi-auto shotgun – the Renegauge Security. The B-Series Precision Lite, which has an MDT chassis, will also be available in .22 LR, .17 HMR, and .22 WMR.

Holosun Optics has grown significantly in recent years, with some notable additions to their product lineup. An increasing number of shooters have turned to their red dot sights and lasers, with their pistol optics, in particular, gaining in popularity of late. Now this California-based and innovation-focused operation is adding another new model to their optics lineup. Meet the AEMS, or Advanced Enclosed Micro Sight, just announced for release in October of this year.

FN America have announced the introduction of their first-ever .22LR pistol, the FN 502 Tactical. The optics-ready, hammer-fired 502 Tactical feeds from a 15 round magazine and is modelled after the FN 509 and has a 4.6-inch threaded barrel. The new FN .22 comes in black or FDE and has an MSRP of $499.00.

SIG Sauer Inc. just added a new product to their ever-growing catalog. It’s extremely cool, well refined, affordable, and, so far, in stock! However, it’s not a real firearm, but a 1:3 scale die-cast replica of the MCX Rattler, manufactured by GoatGuns.

Earlier this year, Blackhawk released their new Stache IWB holster. Obviously targeted for concealed carry, they wanted to make a rigid and modular inside the waistband option. Initially only available for a few popular handguns, Blackhawk now expands Stache to fit emerging contenders in the concealed carry market, including the Springfield Armory Hellcat and the Taurus GX4.

Straight-wall cartridges are very popular for a few reasons. Some hunters use them purely because they like the performance of a specific caliber. Many jurisdictions also ban the use of necked cartridges for hunting, leaving straight-wall calibers as the only option. The reasons for using these cartridges don’t matter.
