There’s no denying that the SIG Sauer P365 changed the game. It has found its way into the waistbands of thousands of concealed carriers across the United States. While the P365 is a great pistol, that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for improvement. Now, Strike Industries is looking to do just that. Adding their usual style and added functionality, Strike has just released the Strike Slide for the SIG Sauer P365.

With the driven hunt season just around the corner, Zeiss seems to be on fire with new releases for all sorts of hunting and sports shooting. Just a few days ago, the Zeiss LRP S5 FFP Precision Rifle Scope was released, and it’s now time for the Zeiss V8 family of riflescopes to get an upgrade. Zeiss V8 1.1 – 8×24, V8 2.8 – 20×56, V8 2.8 – 20×56 and V8 4.8 – 35×60 models all get their share with a downsizing of the center tube diameter (now 30/34 mm) while keeping the generous eye box they’re famous for. There is also a new reticle called 43.

There is a new compact digital riflescope from Sightmark called the Wraith 4K Mini 2-16×32, intended for hunting using night vision or daytime color modes. It uses a 3840×2160 pixels CMOS sensor that can detect objects up to 300 yards away in extreme darkness. The display is a 1280×720 FLCOS screen, and you can record AVI format videos in 1080p.

Beretta has been quite active with new releases lately. While most of the new products are extensions of a pre-existing lineage, the new BRX1 rifle is a completely novel development. The hunting rifle is based on an original straight-pull bolt-action configuration and it appears to be targeted to the market of European hunters.

The long range precision market has exploded in the past decade, but Dave Lauck of D&L Sports has been building and improving his MR-30 Precision Rifle over the past four decades. The MR-30 is built in-house, and is made in different configurations and calibers according to the end-user’s needs. Dave explained that they’ve chambered guns from 6mm to .338 Lapua, in traditional, long range profiles (designated “MR-30 PG, or Professional Grade”), down to compact and lightweight models for urban deployment, as well as quick handling versions. D&L Sports has also taken their own approach with the added details of a compass and level integrated into the butt stock.

In a recent online Press Conference, the Austrian optics manufacturer Kahles released their first-ever thermal imaging products. Named HELIA TI these thermal imaging devices come in either a 25 mm or a 35 mm version, where the larger number means better thermal performance. The models are said to be optimized for hunting, with the note: “Not a button too many, none in the wrong place. Uncompromising simple and fast detection day and night.”

Swarovski Optik enters the world of thermal imaging with their new model tM35. The tM35 works both as a thermal imaging handheld and clip-on device and was introduced at a recent online Press Conference attended by TFB.

Scouting ahead can prove valuable, especially when pursuing game. For this, binoculars are almost unmatched. Maven has been known to produce quality optics for those looking to observe at a distance. To this end, the optics company has just released another in its C series. This is the C.4 56mm binocular, available in 15x or 18x variants.

Iron sights, red dots, scopes, holographic weapon sights, and good ol’ guessing. There are so many ways to aim. Another option that some shooters use is visible lasers. Oftentimes, we see automatically activated lasers on defensive handguns, but what about your rifles or pistols? Israel Weapon Industries (IWI) have announced a new addition to their range of Galil ACE rifles. The ACE-N 52 is chambered in 7.62x51mm and feeds from standard AR-10 magazines. The select fire rifle has had a number of ergonomic changes made, primarily with a new stock.

Umarex Airguns presents the first officially licensed Glock 17 Gen5 T4E paintball marker under the tagline “Paint. Compete. Perform.” It uses an 8-round magazine that holds .43 caliber paint or powderballs. The magazine also includes a 12-gram CO2 cartridge that can be changed without tools. Dimensions and operation of the Umarex marker are made to be very similar to the real thing, to help with routine handling and intuitive operation.

While many companies who produce aftermarket parts will often make them only for more expensive weapon systems, Strike Industries disagrees with this approach. Known for functional and affordable parts, Strike Industries falls right in line with the Taurus approach. Adding to the value of an already high-value firearm, Strike Industries has just released the EMP for the Taurus G3.

I’m sure there are a few exceptions, but most people who like firearms like knives as well. Do you collect like I do? In case you haven’t noticed, the international exhibitions are starting up again. Very soon it is time for the MILIPOL exhibition in Paris, where FN Herstal will display their new less-lethal FN Smart ProtectoR Concept. Fitted with a 5-tube magazine, it fires 12.55mm FN SP caliber cartridges featuring an elastomer projectile.

For shooters who want to suppress calibers larger than .308, there’s a new contender hitting the market. The SilencerCo Hybrid 46M is their latest multi-host release, capable of suppressing everything from .22LR to .45-70 Government and almost everything in between (I’m going to guess that .410 buckshot is off the menu). It’s the high-pressure, large diameter rifle rounds that are going to be the Hybrid 46M’s real bread and butter. There are very few options at this caliber range, and I believe that the Hybrid 46M is currently the only modular option available. Check it out.

When it comes to pistol competition, divisions that allow optics are where all of the action is. However, not long ago, the optics and guns they went on made it nearly impossible to afford to get into the sport. As lower-priced, higher-quality pistols have found their way onto the shelves, the same has happened with red dots. Offering a new value-priced, full-featured option, Atibal Sights has just introduced the CRD, or Competition Red Dot.

Having the ability to move your SIG Sauer P320 FCU (Fire Control Unit) into grip modules is incredibly valuable. Not only is customizing your firearms fun, but it allows shooters to keep different frames for different purposes. The micro-compact space within the firearms market is packed with great options. Small, light, comfortable, and full of features, these small firearms have changed the concealed carry game. One feature that has come to be a given is a slide that’s ready to accept a pistol-mounted optic. Coming to market with an anticipated update to their already successful M&P Shield Plus, Smith & Wesson has introduced the Shield Plus 3.1″ Optics Ready pistol.

The new Rugged Mustang .22LR suppressor was released at the perfect time of year. While our esteemed TFBTV star James Reeves loathes the autumn months, I’m the complete opposite. True Velocity are continuing to steadily expand their composite cased .308 Win ammo range with a new round loaded with a 165-grain Nosler AccuBond bullet. The first run of .308 True Velocity ammunition became publicly available back in August, following a number of years in development and production in support of the then-General Dynamics-OTS entry into the US Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon program.

Sarsilmaz’s US arm SAR USA have announced the introduction of the SAR9 Compact Pistol. The full-size and carry versions of the SAR 9 were released back in 2017. The striker-fired SAR9 Compact has a 4 inch barrel, an overall length of 7.2 inches and a weight of 26.8 oz. The new pistols are available in black with an MSRP of $452.00 and with a stainless finish for $484.00.

A lot of people who have an interest in firearms, myself included, have a fondness for military history. This will often lead to collectors wanting firearms that were used by the armed forces. This is problematic if you’re looking for a fully automatic M249 SAW, but it gets a bit easier with handguns. The M17 is the next pistol that falls into that category of military collectibles. To help collectors of such firearms, SIG Sauer has just released a limited run of X-Change kits. Drop-in your P320 FCU (Fire Control Unit) and you have yourself an M17 that’s nearly identical to the military version.

I recently took my 11.5″ AR pistol, which is equipped only with an A2 birdcage, to an indoor range. Needless to say, I wasn’t well-received. If you’ve ever shot in close proximity to someone with an aggressive muzzle brake, you’re aware that another person’s blast is pretty irritating. Gasses meant to keep the muzzle stable are often directed in inconsiderate directions. The Strike Industries OPPRESSOR line has sought to deal with this problem. Beretta USA have announced the launch of the new APX A1 Carry pistol. Available in four frame colours and with an optics-ready slide, the pistol has an MSRP of $449. The new pistol debuted last weekend at the 2021 USCCA Concealed Carry and Home Defense Expo. The APX A1 Carry has a 3 inch barrel and is available in Standard Black, Flat Dark Earth, Wolf Grey, and OD Green frame colors. It has a 6 or 8 round magazine capacity and weighs in at 19.8oz.

OuterImpact have announced the addition to their line of Modular Red Dot Adapters (M.R.A.) to include a riser mount for rifles, carbines, and other firearms with Picatinny rails suitable for mounting optics on. OuterImpact note that it is able to accommodate around 30 red dot optics. The mount also has 7 different levels so shooters can pick their own level of co-witness.

I don’t know about you, but carrying a rigid, metal gun in a rigid, plastic holster can sometimes be uncomfortable. Depending on the position in which you carry your firearm, your setup can rub against your bones or skin. Due to the still-growing popularity of AR pistols, some manufacturers are putting out new variations of their existing pistols.
