There are many ways to carry and conceal a handgun, and owners of the Springfield Hellcat now have a new option from Galco Gunleather. Made from premium horsehide the new Galco pocket holster has a smooth leather interior, for easy release of the pistol. The design is ambidextrous and made to conceal the shape of the firearm. The double hooked shape and outside texture are made to keep the holster in the pocket on the draw.

Anderson Manufacturing are probably most famous for their AR-15 lower receivers. Now they are expanding into the handgun market with their KIGER-9c compact pistol. The KIGER-9c is a striker-fired, locked-breech, short-recoil operated semi-automatic pistol chambered in 9x19mm Luger. The MSRP is $429.

Here at TFB, we try to cover a broad range of subjects, from all sorts of firearms to other interesting gear we might be in need of. Böker Plus now has a shovel M1874, a remake of the first German field shovel, which should be a perfect tool in any (bug out) vehicle or cabin. According to Böker, the M1874 can be used for digging (obviously!), as well as splitting firewood, cutting paths in the undergrowth and as a makeshift crowbar. If you have a canoe, the shovel could also be used as an emergency paddle. I can almost hear the banjos playing already.

Owners of the SIG P365 XMacro now have a new option for holstering, with the Slim-Tuk IWB from DeSantis. Made from Kydex, the Slim-Tuk is a minimal ambidextrous IWB holster with DeSantis’ tuck-able 360 C-Clip, for almost unlimited mounting options. For instance, you can reverse the carry from the right to the left hand. The tuckable C-Clips are made from strong nylon, with 360-degree adjustability. The retail price of this DeSantis IWB holster is $43.99.

Bronze PVD finish isn’t common in the firearms world, but this Limited-Edition Dan Wesson Heirloom 1911 in .45 ACP has it! Only a limited number of the Heirloom 2022 pistols will be made, and some of the features include ‘Heirloom’ engraved on the steel frame including decorative scrollwork, black G10 grips, and brass front sight and U-notch rear sight. This Dan Wesson pistol has a large beavertail and a commander-style hammer.

Liberty Suppressors are making a special run of their Mystic X in Woodland Camo, so now you can both hide and be silent! The special run will only include 25 pieces in the classic M81 Woodland pattern custom Cerakote finish. The special edition suppressors will also be individually engraved to denote where it is in the limited series of 25, which could be of interest to collectors. The Mystic X is a multi-caliber suppressor and rated for over 70 different calibers – from .22LR up to .300 Win Mag.

Moon clips have been around for over 100 years and reinventing them is a big claim, but Arizona-based Original Precision is doing just that with their CCW HD Moon Clips for J Frame revolvers. Original Precision is offering a CNC machined cylinder conversion to allow .38 and .357 J Frame revolvers to use moon clips to ensure “guaranteed positive ejection for faster reloads under stress”.

Creedmoor Sports is already known as one of the primary suppliers of competition shooting gear. Their lineup of in-house products now includes brass cleaning equipment for reloading. Creedmoor’s Brass Care products boast some interesting qualities.

Daniel Defense, manufacturers of the now iconic DD MK18 5.56mm carbine and other long arms, have just announced the Daniel SoundGuard suppressor lineup. Comprised of the SG-556, SG-30, and the SG-30Ti, the new rifle suppressors have every caliber covered from 5.56mm to .300PRC and everything in between. Outfitted with the now universal 1.375 x 24 mount threads, the SoundGuard silencers come with a direct thread mount, but can accept other industry-standard QD systems as well. Featuring a gas-flow dynamic design to minimize blow back, toxic gasses are pushed forward and not back into the shooter’s face.

In a product twist that I would have never seen coming, Vudoo Gun Works has just announced the Möbius 1911 chambered in either .45 ACP or 9mm. This is the first departure into handguns for the precision rimfire rifle company, but if they stay true to form, the quality of these pistols will be superb. Coming full circle, Vudoo is making a target .22LR slide and barrel conversion kit that will work on either of the Möbius pistols. Of course, I’m praying for the inclusion of a threaded barrel.

Frontier Armory, an importer of African and European gun parts, has announced two new modernization packages for the original Galil, the Kudu and the Oryx. These kits add additional rail space and other improvements to facilitate use with optics and accessories. Both kits will be available for the longer gas system of the standard (or R4) rifle, or the shorter SAR (R5) carbine.

As more and more competitors become aware of how fun it is to shoot a precision rimfire rifle, the choices keep on growing. MasterPiece Arms (MPA) has partnered with Curtis Custom to release conversion kits and new Rimfire Series Rifles. The new series will be available in both the Matrix Pro and ESR Chassis, MPA//Curtis Action, Curtis Rimfire Bolt, Custom MPA Heavy Barrel Profile, ATS Barrel Tuner and Vudoo Rimfire Magazines.

An exclusive licensing with SilencerCo has given KRYTAC the right to create their first gas-powered airsoft pistol as a Maxim 9 clone. The KRYTAC Maxim 9 airsoft pistol has a baffled anodized aluminum slide and a strengthened polymer frame. The modular design of the baffles enables versatility in both short (240mm) and long configurations (275mm).

X-Vision Optics has a new thermal reflex sight called the TRW1, short for Thermal Reflex Sight Wide View. According to the company, it’s “perfect for home defense, tracking, scanning, and close-range shooting within 100 yards”.

Ruger Precision Rifle, the rifle that took the market by storm in 2015 now comes in a customized version in 6.5 Creedmoor. Tweaked by Ruger’s own Custom Shop it features a TriggerTech Trigger, a newly developed barrier stop and an improved firing pin tip geometry to improve functionality for a wide variety of primers.

Steiner have released their new T6Xi series of riflescopes, which includes four new 6-power zoom scopes: the T6Xi 1-6×24 for close-quarter to mid-range engagements, the T6Xi 3-18×56 and  T6Xi 2.5-15×50 for near- to extended-range performance and last but not least, the T6Xi 5-30×56 for long-range and precision shooting.

EAA released a new model in their Girsan MC P35 Ops line, the Ops Optic. It adds red dot compatibility to the other modernization features of the Ops model. This brings many characteristics of more modern pistols to the classic design of the Hi-Power family.

Henry Repeating Arms has released a New Original Henry .44-40 WCF 25th Anniversary Edition rifle. The model will be limited to 2,500 units, each with a unique serial number ranging from 25HENRY0001 to 25HENRY2500.

ZeroTech Optics has added another model to their Vengeance series of riflescopes. The new Vengeance 5-25×56 FFP RMG was designed for PRS and long-range shooters. The main tube is 34 mm, with a 56 mm objective lens, and the turret offers 28 MRADs of internal elevation travel with a zero stop. The company’s own RMF FFP reticle is glass etched and the lenses have weathershield coating. The MSRP is $799.

If you own an FN  FNX-45 pistol with the factory threaded barrel, and feel you want to reduce the muzzle rise and recoil of the .45 ACP now you have an option with the MRAT (Muzzle Rise Amplitude Tamer) compensator from Apex Tactical Specialities. The MRAT compensator will set you back $175 and includes a captive-spring guide rod assembly, two brass tip set screws and some thread locker fluid. The standard color is black, but you can also get FDE for an additional $25. Apex Tactical indicates that users will note a 40% to 60% reduction in muzzle rise, but the results are individual to shooters.

If you ever wanted your Ruger PC Carbine to have the same ergonomics as the AR-15, and use standard AR parts, Infitech now has a solution. Their new Ruger PC Carbine ARL Chassis can use the following AR15 parts: trigger/fire control group, safety, magazine release, pistol grip and buffer tube/stock. According to Infitech you can use any AR15 stock you like including the thumbhole versions made by Hera Arms. The MSRP is $670.43.

The Marlin Model 1895 Guide Gun is back! Reintroduced by Ruger, chambered in .45-70 Govt. it’s been dressed up in a brown laminate stock with crisp checkering. The cold hammer-forged barrel is 19″ long and has a 1:20” twist. The metal has a non-glare, blued, satin finish and the bolt has been nickel-plated for reliability. If you like to use a suppressor or another type of muzzle device, the barrel comes with an 11/16”- 24 threading.

Pocket Rockets with red dot sights are in fashion, and Springfield Armory now has a new option of their Hellcat Pro that comes combined with the Shield Sights SMSc sight. In case you haven’t seen or tried the SMSc red dot yet, it’s a very compact, yet useable optic in my opinion, especially on compact handguns that have a short line of sight. As a backup, it’s co-witnessed with the company’s U-Dot sights.

Those looking for a Low Power Variable Optic now have a new option from Primary Arms. The new model is called SLx 1-10x28mm SFP Rifle Scope, and it features a 34mm tube and has an overall length of 10.5″. The new scope has 11 different reticle illumination settings including two night vision and two daylight-bright settings and two reticles to choose from – the ACSS Raptor 5.56 M10S for the 5.56x45mm NATO and .308 Winchester cartridges or the ACSS Griffin MIL M10S offering a MIL-grid. Tokarev USA has just announced that they are entering the hunting and sporting market. The first model will be their APEX Field Shotgun which is a semi-automatic shotgun with a 3.5” chamber. The model will be available with checkered Turkish walnut furniture and matte black chrome finish. Priced from $379.99 it’s available with either a 26” or 28” barrel with ventilated ribs and fiber optic front sight.

Small arm designs are introduced in both revolutionary and evolutionary processes, each being equally important to developing a reliable and capable firearm system. For manufacturers, engineering a new gun and its progressive iterations, is a painstaking progression that requires refinement, numerous evaluation cycles, and performance improvements.
