TFB Review: Ithaca Model 37 Defense
The Ithaca Model 37 started life in 1937 in Ithaca, NY. The design is derived from the JMB designed Remington model 17. Chambered in 12 and later 20 ga, the 37 had a few interesting facets of its design that made it somewhat unique. One was the slab sided, bottom ejecting receiver. The other was the ability to slam-fire when the slide action was cycled with the trigger held back. This was not by accident, but an ability afforded by via a second sear that would release the hammer when the bolt had gone fully into battery (sadly discontinued in the mid-1970’s). Ithaca 37s were used by the United States military in WWII and in Vietnam by both US and ARVN forces. Interestingly enough, Trench Gun models of the Ithaca 37 marked with the ordnance bomb issued during WWII can be worth over $10,000!

Recall and Safety Warning Issued for Henry Rifles and Shotguns
The Henry Repeating Arms Company has a long and distinguished history that includes many excellent and iconic firearms. Today, the company is still a leading manufacturer putting out a massive volume of guns. Unfortunately, any company that has been in business for that long, and whose model count grows into the dozens with production numbers reach into the millions, is bound to run into an occasional hiccup. They have published the following press release detailing an issue they have discovered with some of their single-shot guns, while explaining how they are committed to handling it properly and taking good care of their customers.
POTD: The Beretta M3P Pump and Semi-Auto Shotgun
The Italian company Beretta opens its vaults to show the M3P shotgun. These photos were taken in 1990. The M3P is a 12 gauge shotgun with 5 rounds fed from a detachable box magazine although some sources say the magazine takes 6 rounds. It can run both as a pump-action or semi-automatic, which is great if you want to use special loads that are too weak (rubber balls, for instance) for cycling the semi-auto action. The design of the folding stock is special in the sense that it folds over the top of the barrel and becomes a carrying handle. The operation is similar to the SPAS-15.

My First ATF EForm 1: Easier And Faster Than I Expected
I finally did it. After years of hem-hawing and debating the ATF EForm 1 process, I am now officially an owner of a National Firearms Act (NFA) Stamp. I didn’t get struck by lightning and all my animals are still alive. Not only that, but it was much easier than I ever thought it could be, and by using the ATF’s online EForms process, it was much quicker than the paper version. Settle in and learn how you can join in on the fun too.

Baret Fawbush of the popular Instagram account TRUEXODUS recently held a public range day in his background shooting gallery just outside the Southern Indiana town of Poseyville. Admission was free as long as folks signed a COVID-19 release form. This wasn’t the first shoot that Baret had hosted behind the church that he is currently serving as a paster and hopefully it won’t be the last because everyone who came out had a safe and fun day shooting many of the interesting firearms that Baret brought out (essentially his entire collection), or personal firearms that were welcomed at the shooting tables under the watchful eye of the RSOs.

Discreet Rifle Transport: Hiding Long Guns In Plain Sight
For quite some time now, I’ve tried to take a long gun with me when I travel, but carrying a gun case through a hotel lobby has the potential to draw unwanted attention. Using a discreet method to carry a long gun doesn’t alert naysayers or thieves that a rifle or shotgun is present in the car, hotel, or anywhere in between. I’ll show the discreet rifle transport I came up with, but we’ll look at a couple more options as well.
