One of my favorite things about writing for TFB is being able to write about the crazy things I find in the wild. Last week I was running around the various shops in western Michigan and came across this bullpup 870 conversion. The guy behind the counter was an extremely grumpy old-timer who went on about MUH 1911 and how polymer guns are Chinese junk. I could write an entire article on the employee but the shotgun was something I was rather interested in checking out.

Hello again everyone. It’s that time of the week again, it’s deal time. But it’s also a very special week for me because this week (or well really last week but who’s counting) marks my 1-year anniversary of starting writing here at TFB.

Mesa Tactical has introduced the second generation of their LEO shotgun stock and grip adapters. The first LEO Gen II model is designed for Remington V3 semi-auto shotgun. The general concept is the same as in the first generation LEO adapters – the adapter replaces the stock of the shotgun and provides attachment points for AR-15 pistol grips and buffer tubes. However, the design has been refined and Gen II incorporates some modifications.

For the month of October and our Reader’s Choice voting, we voted on the BEST Pump-Action Shotgun you could potentially have. For some of us, that open-ended statement might need to fill the need of hunting, home defense, competitive shooting, recreation or oddly enough all of the above! This month’s voting was as much of what do you believe is the BEST Pump-Action Shotgun, but it also begged the question of what do you use shotguns for? Between 10 fairly different options to vote on your chosen winner was… (drum roll please)… the Remington 870 Express Field/Home Combo 12 Gauge!!!

This spring Henry launched their new line of side-gate loading lever actions. Initially offering them in .30-30 Win, .38-55 Win, and .35 Rem. Henry have now introduced two more chamberings – the classic .45-70 and the every fun and practical .410 shotshell.

Making a big splash at SHOT Show 2018, the IWI Tavor TS12 shotgun was impossible to walk by without noticing.  Even at early hours, there was a line to pick up and handle this thing.  This author was expecting a lot more heft, but even at roughly 8lbs unloaded, the Tavor TS12 shocked me how light and well balanced it felt.  The balance improves even further when fully loaded with roughly 1.25lbs of shotgun ammo.  It has been a long time coming to market, however, due in large part to IWI wanting to perfect the shotgun’s reliability with a wide range of loads before it got into consumer hands.

ADIHEX, the Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition, is an annual event towards the end of the, scorching hot, summer in Abu Dhabi, UAE. As the name implies, this is not firearms dedicated show, but the “hunting guns” area alone is usually worth a visit, if anything to understand what are the models which catch the interest of the local populations.

In this episode, Miles goes to a local gun shop in Amman to check out what the local laws, trends, and interests are in the legal firearms market in Jordan. He interviews the store owner and is able to really get some hands-on time with the various handguns and shotguns in the store, seeing what Jordanian gun owners like and appreciate.

I think it is safe to say that the 20 gauge is second in popularity after the ubiquitous 12 gauge. However, the amount of products made in 20 gauge (whether it’s firearms or ammunition) is not even close to that of 12 gauge. That’s why for the aficionados of the yellow shell, it is always good to hear about new offerings on the market.  Winchester’s new 20 gauge additions to the Super X4 line of shotguns are definitely interesting new options both for those of you who are fans of the 20 gauge and for those who are thinking about trying this gauge in a search for a lighter recoiling and more compact caliber that still can rival the 12 gauge in the lighter load weight area of the latter.

Dissident Arms specializes in Molot and Saiga shotguns. We have covered them a little bit before, for instance with the Lightning Review: Dissident Arms KL-12 Race Gun Vepr12.

You guessed it, the coolest thing about the FIME Group Vepr 12-80 shotgun is its humongous muzzle brake. Other than that, it is a standard Russian Molot Vepr-12 semi-auto shotgun. With a barrel length of 12″, this configuration of Vepr-12 would be an SBS (Short Barreled Shotgun) hence an NFA item requiring a $200 tax stamp and tedious and uncertain amount of wait time until the stamp arrives. What FIME Group engineers did is designed this monster muzzle brake that they pinned and welded to the barrel to increase the barrel length just over 18″ which allowed them to convert these SBS Vepr-12s into “normal shotguns” as far as the law is concerned and delist them from being NFA items.

The CZ 1012 is the next step in the continuing evolution of the CZ semi-auto shotgun line. The CZ 1012 makes use of a gas-less spring bolt operation. A “do everything shotgun” the CZ 1012 features a gas-less recoil system. The system uses a spring within the bolt to store energy during the recoil of the shotgun and retains it for a short moment until that energy is released to unlock the two lug bolt head from the barrel extension and extract the empty shell.

American Tactical Inc., of Summerville, SC, have announced the launch of a new AR-based .410 shotgun. The MilSport AR 410 has an 18.5-inch barrel and a 13-inch custom Keymod rail with a full length 12 o’clock Picatinny rail. The MilSport AR 410 can feed from 5 or 15 round box magazines.

Gould Brothers have published a new video of another unbelievable trick shot and world record. We’ve already seen them setting new world records such as shooting 8 clay targets in the air with the shotgun held upside down over the shooter’s head or an even more jaw-dropping trick shot when they were busting clay pigeons in the air with a 6.5 Creedmoor rifle at a 300-yard distance. The new world record that we’ll talk about today is a long-range clay shooting record with a shotgun and birdshot.
