This is a challenge, and a struggle. How do you describe a firearm that you have seen, examined but there is really nothing available in terms of facts?

Sulun Arms is a Turkish company that makes shotguns as well as other firearms and air guns. Recently a viral video has been shared on Facebook of one of their shotguns. It is a select fire shotgun. Most full auto shotguns do not look like your stereotypical shotguns. The AA-12, The Fostech Origin and Saiga 12s are the most common full auto shotguns we see but they don’t look like shotguns. Sulun Arms has a select fire shotgun that looks like a semi-auto hunting shotgun with a selector switch.

Does your rifle’s stock more closely resemble drift wood than walnut? Is your shotgun looking “battle worn” after lending it to someone? While most people make their best efforts to maintain their firearms there is always inevitable wear, tear and aging that occurs. For that reason, aftermarket stocks can be found for nearly all firearms. Whether they are a classical reproduction of the original or something more modern, there are many companies that tailor to that segment and need of the shooting market. Today, we will examine one company that has carved out a foothold in this area by reviewing the Boyd’s At-One Adjustable Gun Stock for the Remington 870.

Alliant powder has been re-formulating a lot of their reloading powders lately to give shooters more bang for their buck! This has included an over-haul and re-examination of the “Dot” powders that so many target shotgun shooters are fond of. Both Red and Green Dot were announced at SHOT Show as being improved and would be re-introduced sometime later in 2018. Well, that time has finally arrived for Green Dot.

Normally, when thinking about a deluxe custom shotgun you are probably depicting a gun covered by complicated engravings such as precious metal inlaid relief hunting scenes or photorealistic Bulino engraving. What Beretta shared on their social media pages are images of a custom shotgun with a completely different minimalistic and simple approach yet still unbelievably beautiful and harmonic in its simplicity. The custom Beretta 490 Serpentina side by side shotgun lacks any engravings whatsoever (not counting the barrel markings and the company name engraved on the bottom portion of the gun).

An Italian company called Futurmec makes an adjustable stock for over & under shotguns. The stock is called FUTUR-K6AM. Generally speaking, this stock has features similar to the Ergosighn and TSK stocks that we have talked about earlier. However, it also has some unique features setting it apart from the competition. A little over a year ago, we wrote about the YouTube channel called Kjaskaar which host replicated the sawn-off shotgun from the “Killing Them Softly” movie. Kjaskaar calls this firearm “The Littlest Shotgun”. He has recently published a part two video where he does ballistic gel testing of this gun. It has been awhile since we have done an “ Identify My Guns” segment, but we are glad to be back examining odd, reader-submitted firearms! In this article, we examine a breech-loading blackpowder rifle that was converted to shoot centerfire cartridges and then converted again to shoot shotgun shells. Often looking very rough in condition (and even that can sometimes be an understatement) the Zulu shotgun can be an enigma to identify if you have not seen one before.

Johann Fanzoj, the famous Austrian deluxe hunting arms manufacturer, has published an article telling about their version of arguably one of the most complicated mechanical marvels of the break action firearms breed – the Vierling. Vierling is a German word that stands for quadruplet and it is the name of four-barreled break action firearms.

Black Aces Tactical has released the Shockwave Semi shotguns. These are Remington 1100/1187-based semi-automatic shotguns redesigned to have a similar layout as the Remington 870 Tac-14 and Mossberg 590 Shockwave. These shotguns come either in SBS or non-NFA configurations.

The US Army Contracting Command, New Jersey, posted a sources sought notice for a ‘Modular Combat Shotgun’ based upon the Remington 870 on 23 May.

You probably know that there are 80% AR-15 lower receivers and Glock frames. But did you know that there is a company called Logic Industries that makes an 80% shotgun receiver? Even if you know about this company, then the good news for you is that their 80% receiver set is now available for preorder.

Mossberg has just signaled the commercial availability of their latest Shockwave firearm chambered in 12 gauge scattergun bliss. The Shockwave  590M was announced earlier this year leading up to the SHOT Show in Vegas, sporting magazines over the more traditional tube-fed Shockwave. In case you’ve been living in a cave, had a While You Were Sleeping event, drafted into the Space Force and immediately deployed to the outlying terraformed planets or otherwise refuse to live in the modern world, the Shockwave is not a Shotgun nor is it an NFA controlled weapon. Although chambered In a gauge and not a caliber and having a barrel shorter than 18”, the combination of overall length and having no shoulder stock leaves the 590M categorized strictly as a firearm. Cash and carry… in most places.

The 2018 IPSC Shotgun World Shoot in Chateauroux, France, is over and the winner in Open division is Josh Froelich (USA).

For the second year in a row this varied and diverse group of folks discussed the ins and outs of some of the more peculiar difficulties of curating firearms in museums. How do you work in a severely challenging political climate? How do you deal with NFA pieces that come in as unregistered? To what extent are researchers allowed in the collection? What are the ethics of restoring museum pieces?

Two-time Olympic gold medallist Vincent Hancock has won his third consecutive ISSF Shotgun World Cup gold medal during the 2018 ISSF Shotgun World Cup leg at the Malta National Shooting Ranges at Ta’ Kandja.

In a move that is both shocking and unsurprising at the same time, the video hosting powerhouse YouTube has terminated Brownells’ channel citing violations of their “community guidelines”. In the professional business of gunsmithing, tools, parts supply, accessories and more recently firearms sales, Brownells has been a pillar of the shooting community for nearly 100 years. While countless old-fashion catalog sales companies died off with the ecommerce revolution, Brownells adapted, embracing online sales and customers with an easy to navigate website and strong social media presence.

There certainly exist a large number of myths and misconceptions about small arms in Afghanistan. Everything from the names of certain firearms available to how they are perceived in the country has been over exaggerated or hyped up to the point of no return. Surprisingly there are almost as many myths in the country of Afghanistan itself than those that exist in the United States and Europe. Some of these are quite harmless but others involve safety and safe firearms handling which can at times lead to negligent discharge and death.

In celebration of the company’s 70th anniversary, Italian Fausti Stefano SRL has introduced two commemorative shotguns. The difference between the two is mainly in the layout of the barrels – one is an Over & Under shotgun and the second one is a Side by Side.

Malta has just opened its new National Shooting Ranges in Ta’ Kandja, the state of the art trap and skeet range will play host to  ISSF Shotgun World Cup. The World Cup runs from the 5th to the 15th June and will put the new range to the test with over a dozen skeet and trap qualification and final shoots being held.

Wilson Combat has introduced an improved Remington 870 shotgun built with the involvement of the retired law enforcement officer and renown firearms instructor Rob Haught. The goal was to make an ultimate defensive shotgun by making some design improvements and adding accessories that proved to work best in defensive scenarios.

James Purdey & Sons Ltd., one of the British manufacturers of deluxe hunting arms, has added to their website a new over and under shotgun called Purdey Trigger Plate. As the name implies, this shotgun utilizes a rather rare lock mechanism type called trigger plate.

When I first saw the images of this mid 19th-century muzzle-loading firearm, I thought it is probably missing the side plates covering lock mechanism. But then I noticed the hammer spur which, as you know, is designed to make it possible to manually cock the hammer and you will barely see an internal hammer with a spur. Fortunately, the images were accompanied by a description which revealed some really interesting design features of this gun.

Iron Armi is an Italian arms manufacturer specialized in making shotguns. One of their latest products is a semi-automatic magazine fed 410 bore shotgun called Ares MITO 410. This shotgun is made in two configurations for shooting birdshot and slugs.

Remember the Midwest Industries M-LOK Handguard we posted about last month for the Henry lever action rifle in 45-70? Well it looks like someone at the Henry Repeating Arms company saw it, because at NRAAM 2018 in Dallas they showed off their X series concept lever action rifle and shotgun which use the new Midwest Industries handguard.
