TFB Review: CZ Bobwhite G2
While they might be Elmer Fudd’s gun of choice, side by side shotguns aren’t that common in America anymore, mostly due to the fact that many of the good ones are quite expensive. Those that aren’t, such as the Stoeger Coach Gun, have deficiencies such as poor stock to receiver fitment, sticky chambers, and cheap stock finishes that degrade quickly. CZ’s Bobwhite G2 comes in at the very affordable MSRP of $655. This price makes it more at home in the gun rack of a Polaris SXS or old truck than in the bespoke velvet cabinets of a “shooting brake”.
NEW Black Aces Tactical PRO Series M Shotguns That Take Saiga-12 Magazines
Black Aces Tactical has announced the release of new Pro Series M semi-auto and pump-action shotguns. What sets these shotguns apart from the competition is that while having a traditional appearance, they take Saiga 12 box and drum magazines. Moreover, the semi-auto versions of these shotguns are the only traditional-style magazine-fed semi-automatic shotguns currently available on the market.
Pawn Shop Finds – The Deal of a Lifetime Remington 870 for $49.99
So since I posted my last Pawn Shop Finds article, I have been hitting even more gun shops around the state of Michigan. I’ve been looking for unique guns that catch my eye, but the only requirement is they have to be dirt cheap. I love roaming from various pawn and gun stores checking things out and sharing them on my social media pages. This trip was one of the best I’ve ever had since I started checking stores about six years ago.
The 'Liberator12k' – A DIY 3D Printed 12 Gauge Revolving Shotgun
The Liberator12k is a revolving 12 gauge shotgun which uses mostly 3D printed parts combined with easily available metal components including steel tubing for the barrel and chamber inserts. The basic idea behind the design is to allow anyone with a $200 3D printer to be able to simply order some suitable steel tubing along with some standard steel fittings and from then be able to easily assemble a reliable and safe homemade repeating shotgun capable of 6-7 successive shots of widely available 12 gauge. The gun is the creation and current project of Jeff Rodiguez, whose experiments with using ECM (Electrochemical Machining) to create rifling were covered in a previous article back in 2017.

Featured Deals of the Week – 6/28/19
And now back to your regularly scheduled programming. I’m your host, Benjamin F, and these are the Featured Deals of the Week. I have read your comments, and I know that a lot of people are upset that deals end up sold out after only being on here for a brief period of time. I have begun reaching out to vendors after I find their deals, to try and make sure there’s sufficient inventory available. However, these articles are prepared a day before they go live, and online retailers move inventory very quickly.
Patterning with Oval and Angled Shotgun Muzzles
Constriction of the shotgun bore diameter at the muzzle end is probably the most widespread technique of changing the shot pattern density at a given distance. It is achieved either by having a permanent constriction built into the design of the barrel itself or by the use of removable choke tubes. As you know, the use of chokes allows tightening the shot pattern to different degrees depending on the amount of bore diameter constriction. But have you ever thought what will happen if the cross-section of the shotgun muzzle was not circular? What will do an oval muzzle or what will happen if you cut the muzzle at an angle?
Tweaked & Upgraded for 2020: NEW Browning BPS Shotguns
Browning has already lifted the veil off of their newly redesigned BPS shotguns for the upcoming year 2020 with more mindful features for hunting and shooting. One immediate improvement is the checkered grip surfaces on Walnut stock models and textured grip surfaces on their composite stocked counterparts. While the NEW Browning BPS shotguns look nearly identical to previous ones the difference is in the details. Browning shared these words on their website:
Wilson Combat Magazine Fed Shotgun (M.F.S.)
Wilson Combat has added another gun to their line of custom shotguns. This time it is based on a Remington 870 DM and called accordingly M.F.S. – Magazine Fed Shotgun. As in the case of other Wilson Combat shotguns, it packs a bunch of custom features that combined convert the stock gun into an ultimate defensive tool as far as shotguns are concerned.
TFB Review: Beretta 1301 Tactical Shotgun
For the last couple of years, I have been buying rifles and building mostly rifles and pistols when coming up with projects. I have a few pump action shotguns, but I don’t have anything when it comes to semi-automatic tactical shotguns. A few months back, I decided to start researching what shotgun I wanted to pick up. I looked at a number of companies like FN, Benelli, and Beretta. I’ve always loved the M2 and M3 from Benelli but have several hunting models that use the same inertia system. I wanted a gas shotgun to try out to see how it’s different from inertia models.
Updated Beretta 686 Silver Pigeon I Shotgun
Beretta has some news for those of you who are avid upland hunters. They have introduced the updated version of their 686 Silver Pigeon I over and under shotgun. The company calls it “The Evolution of the Icon” and advertises it with a steampunk-ish looking metal bird which probably symbolizes another slogan for this gun – “Nature Evolves. So Do We.“.
TFB FIELD STRIP: Mossberg 500
Welcome to the TFB Field Strip series. We’ll be disassembling a Mossberg 500 in this edition. The field strip process for the Mossberg 500 is very similar to the 505, 510, 535, 590, 835, as well as the Maverick 88 and 91 models. The only real significance being whether your model has a captured takedown screw on the barrel assembly, or a removable cap at the end of the magazine. Before we get started, the four gun safety rules are listed below as a reminder.
Hank Williams Jr. Offers $6,000 To Find His Grandfather's Shotgun

Williams explains that he spent a lot of time with Grandpa Sheppard when he was growing up and would like to pass the old Remington down to his children. The serial number of the missing gun ends in 58111.
Pump Action Revolving Shotgun Design From Brazil
Here is an interesting design which has been seized by authorities on a number of occasions in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo, first documented in August 2017. It is an eight-shot pump-actuated revolving shotgun chambered in 12 gauge and represents the cutting edge in Favela Firepower.
The Night Manager Shotgun Extension & Accessory Mount By Choate
The Choate Machine and Tool company has released a new shotgun magazine extension tube, named the Night Manager, that doubles as a mounting point for weapon mounted lights and lasers. The installed Night Manager offers an extra two rounds to the shotgun’s capacity. The tube is drilled and tapped to accept Picatinny rail sections for mounting accessories. A sling attachment loop is also included in the kit and is cut to accommodate the end user’s preference on its placement at the 3, 6 or 9 o’clock positions.

At the 2019 NRA National Meeting, Brannon LeBouef meets with the guys from Keystone Sporting Arms, most famous for their Cricket and Chipmonk line of youth model single shot .22LR rifles, about some new offers. They also has some new precision rifle trainers, youth .22LR hunting style rifles, as well as some proto-type chassis for Ruger 10-22. Lastly, they showed their youth model shotguns in their “My First Shotgun” line.
[NRA 2019] A Pig & a Folding Blaster! NEW KSA Warthog Chassis & "My First Shotgun"
As if Keystone Sporting Arms ( KSA) bringing their Mini Mosin Nagant youth rimfire rifle to the NRA Show would not draw enough attention, if you journeyed further into their booth you found more surprises that are not listed on their website. They will soon be unveiling a Warthog pistol chassis for people to drop 10/22 actions into. They also have been working on a single-shot shotgun that folds into a backpack. Both niche items are incredibly cool in their own right, and we will take a look at each of them.

One of our readers from Finland, who preferred to remain anonymous, sent us three translated articles (dated 2013, 2017, and 2018) from Finnish news websites reporting about firearms seizures. These are apparently the reports of largest caches seized in the country within the past six years. Let’s take a quick look at firearms shown in each of these articles.
Stevens Introduces NEW 555E Over/Under 16 Gauge Shotgun
Spring is inching nearer everyday and that means trap and clay pigeon season is upon us. A lot of high-quality yet affordable over/under shotguns have been coming from Turkey in the Mediterranean lately and the Stevens 555 by Savage Arms would absolutely be included in that conversation. A step even higher in quality is their 555E (555 Enhanced) for slightly improved features and a much more impressive finish. Now the Stevens 555E can be purchased in 16 Gauge as well for those who are advocates of that less common round. Some of the specifications you can come to expect from the 555 Enhanced can be read below as presented by Stevens:
Kral Arms VOLT-500 O&U Shotgun with Electric Trigger
At IWA 2019, the Turkish firearms manufacturing company Kral Arms has introduced a rather unique over and under shotgun called VOLT-500. What sets this shotgun apart is that it utilizes an electric trigger. The trigger is basically an electrical switch and the hammer is probably released from the sear via some sort of a solenoid mechanism built into the lock.
5 Rare and Unusual Firearms Seen in April 2019 MORPHY Firearms Auction Catalog

Just like in the case of many previous auction-related TFB articles, we browsed the catalog to see what interesting, rare and unusual firearms are consigned. The Morphy catalog is full of such firearms. If I was to choose every rare gun, I’d probably end up talking about each and every lot seen there.
