With the advancements in carry guns today, there are some really interesting models coming to market as well as some really cool aftermarket options for the next generation carry guns. With all the options on the market, there have been some arguments online about which model performs better and what’s the best bang for your buck. The two guns we have in question are the SIG Sauer P365XL Spectre Comp and the Parker Mountain Machine JTTC compensated P365. Both guns are great choices for their own reasons but it’s time to see what works best in the P365 platform. Let’s take a closer look at these two guns and see what does better when looking at the PMM JTTC Comp vs SIG Spectre Comp.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all bout the rimfire firearm world and its many firearms, ammunitions, shooting sports, and history! Last time on The Rimfire Report we took a look at the very budget-friendly Heritage Arms Rough Rider 22 caliber rimfire revolver. That little revolver is apparently one of the best-kept secrets of the rimfire world as many of you have had similar enjoyable results as I did while shooting the revolver. However, when it comes to modern arms and training, nothing is quite as ubiquitous or common as America’s rifle, the AR15. Pete’s September 3rd SILENCER SATURDAY featured a full-auto CMMG 22LR AR-15 conversion kit. Humorously enough, I had already planned to do a review and overview of the CMMG Bravo 22LR AR-15 Conversion Kit for Rimfire Report and if it hadn’t been Labor Day weekend, you all would have gotten a double dose of CCMG rimfire goodness. Unfortunately, our overview today will be a much milder, semi-auto look at the conversion kit but the same warning that Pete aired last week will be aired here – be careful, this conversion kit is sure to bring a smile to your face.

The rifle sling – one of the oldest and most useful rifle accessories which despite often being underrated, is a must-have for carrying a rifle in the field, more important than a lot of other things we accessorize our rifles with. A well-designed sling is not only a mean for carrying your rifle but will allow you to improve your weapon manipulations and increase the stability of the gun while shooting. While any sling is better than no sling, having one specifically designed for your particular weapon system should in theory be much more preferable. With the launch of the new Taurus GX4 XL underway, Viridian has already come to the market with GX4 XL compatible E Series red and green laser aiming sights for the pistol. The popular E Series pistol-mounted laser collection has been steadily expanding over the years to cover many popular models of firearm including all of the latest micro-compact 9mm and 380 ACP pistols modern concealed carriers are after.

HUXWRX (formerly OSS Suppressors) has introduced a new muzzle device, a blast deflector called Blastphemy. The new HUXWRX Blastphemy can be attached over the company’s HX-QD series of muzzle brakes and flash hiders, and like other blast deflectors, it redirects the gasses exiting the muzzle device forward. Armaspec have recently released the third generation of their Sound Mitigation Buffer or SMB. This AR-15/AR-10 buffer assembly has a captured recoil spring that does not contact the internal surface of the buffer tube thus resulting in smoother and quieter operation of the action. Bear Creek Arsenal has just announced their new BCA Red Dot/Rangefinder combination optic. This new optic is intended to be used for hunting and long-range shooting applications so that shooters can accurately and quickly estimate distances to targets without having to use a separate rangefinder. Like other rangefinders on the market, the BCA Red Dot/Rangefinder has lots of convenient options and features, most notably the inclusion of a standard Picatinny rail mount. PRS rifles are some of the heaviest in the long-range business, probably save for benchrest rifles. PRS shooters are always looking for ways to improve the weight and balance of their firearms for more optimal results and the folks over Luth-AR have just introduced their new Sidekick Balance Weight for the MBA-1 or MBA-2 buttstock. The Sidekick Balance Weight adds an additional 14.5-oz to the rear of the rifle which could help in offsetting heavier or longer barrels which should result in a more evenly balanced platform.

Eemann Tech, a company based in Tallinn, Estonia, was founded by experts with extensive experience and knowledge in the IPSC/Competition shooting arena. The main field of activity is manufacturing high-quality spare and tuning parts, steel targets and accessories for IPSC sports. As a user of Tanfoglio handguns for competition, I’m always on the lookout for new interesting products. According to Eemann Tech, their new DA/SA flat trigger for Tanfoglio pistols allows for a more precise control of the trigger press and reset. It works with the Tanfoglio STOCK II III and Tanfoglio Xtreme II and III pistols.

It’s hard to set yourself apart these days when it comes to holsters – especially ones that are geared towards concealed carry applications. However, I recently took the opportunity to review one of Bianchi’s hybrid leather holsters that caught my eye, and today we’ll be taking a look at it. The Bianchi Shenandoah OWB/IWB holster is a fully convertible, dual-carry holster with the ability to easily switch between IWB and OWB carry positions with minimal parts change and also with a 50% leather construction but in the reverse of how many other companies accomplish this. This holster is more interesting than meets the eye and today I hope I can properly demonstrate its features and advantages to you.

The SA-35 handgun from Springfield Armory made waves late last year when it was officially unveiled to the public. Those who had been seeking a Hi-Power pistol were finally able to get their hands on something authentic to the original design, but with a few modernized changes. My initial experiences with the handgun did in fact give me that authentic Hi-Power feeling with its natural pointability, fit in the hand, and crisp, light single-action trigger pull. If you’re planning on carrying the SA-35 or find yourself struggling a bit to quickly pick up a sight picture, perhaps a small upgrade is in order. XS Sights recently released their XS R3D night sights for the SA-35 pistol, and today we’ll be taking a quick gander at them on the SA-35 to see what kind of benefits they offer over the standard sights Springfield currently offers.

An Argentinian company called  CAT Aiming Devices has developed a magnetic mounting system that allows attaching reflex sights to pistols without a need for an optics-ready slide. This may sound like not quite a reliable solution, however, the system does not rely only on the strength of its built-in magnet. Let’s take a closer look.

Every week I sit down and look at the number of topics I have written down for the Concealed Carry Corner articles. One thing that blows me away is seeing the vast differences between people willing to upgrade every aspect of their carry pistol on one end, and on the other people not spending money and continuing to use the same gear they have for years. These are two very different ways to look at carrying a concealed firearm but each attitude has its merits. Whatever side you agree with, it’s always interesting to look at what is considered good enough gear.

Bilson Arms, a firearms and accessories manufacturer located in Broussard, Louisiana, has released a new AR-15 stock called Pivotal Buttstock. The rear portion of this stock rotates around its axis allowing the shooter to tilt the gun without changing the position of the buttstock in their shoulder for more comfortable shooting from different stances or when transitioning between primary and secondary optics/sights.

Throughout my years of shooting, there’ve been a few things that people purchase a number of times before settling on the product that works best for them. Holsters are typically the item people think about but another shooting product that takes time to find are rifle slings as well. Throughout the years, I have gone through a number of slings and found a number of features I really like and some I dislike when it comes to a good rifle sling. With summertime hitting the Northeast and Midwest states full force this week, there’s no better time to look at carrying smaller guns. Individuals who live in the great north have lost their security blanket of layered clothing and heavy coats with the rush of hot summer weather. For most, the general trend is to carry the smallest handgun possible in an effort to make carrying more comfortable. There’s no denying that carrying a smaller pistol does make life easier in the hot summer months, but there are also disadvantages to really small carry guns. Love it or hate it, the Browning BAR Mk3 is still alive and kicking. The fairly simple multi-purpose semi-auto rifle is a popular choice for a lot of hunters and firearms enthusiasts and while it may not be the first BAR from Browning that comes to mind when you hear its name, it is at least more widely available. Introduced at SHOT Show 2022, the MDT Comp Brake competition muzzle brake / muzzle rise compensator is now available. This new muzzle device allows adjusting its top muzzle rise compensation ports. Other than that, it may look like a standard multi-port brake, however, the amount of R&D work that went into perfecting the design and geometry of this muzzle device and the results achieved are quite impressive.
