The Swedish Defense Materiel Works (FMV) has signed a framework agreement with Equipnor AB, for Dillon M134D Miniguns for Sweden’s amphibious battalions. The gun is electrically powered and can fire 3,000 rounds of 7.62mm per minute, providing a higher probability of hitting targets and achieving local fire superiority in a short time. The framework agreement can be used by the entire Swedish Armed Forces. The initial agreement extends to 2026, with an option to extend it two years at a time. The total value amounts to about 28 million USD. FMV’s mission is to modernize the Amphibious Battalion 2030, and a number of different systems are on the way to be procured.

Taurus has just announced an essential safety notification regarding certain GX4 pistols that were assembled and sold exclusively within the United States. A lot of you will be familiar with InRange TV’s series of Brutality matches held across the nation throughout the year. Brutality matches quickly became my favorite type of firearms competition as they blend a good variety of skill, physical endurance, and problem-solving, along with a great environment to test your gear in to create a truly rewarding firearms event. I personally covered Woodland Brutality 2022 last year where I participated in the event along with today’s podcast guest, my good friend Tom Symonds. Armax: the Journal of Contemporary Arms has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the reprinting of the original volumes of the journal. The project is looking to fund new full-colour editions of the original six volumes of the journal which will be remastered to a modern standard.

Riton Optics has added a new first focal plane 1-10×24 scope to their lineup. The new 5 Tactix LPVO features an illuminated MRAD reticle and capped turrets. It also includes a throw lever for fast magnification changes.

Cutting your slide for an optic can be expensive. Well, at least if you want it done right. It also limits you to only using optics that fit the footprint you chose. Plate systems work, but if you’re looking for a Glock, in my experience, the MOS guns are not as easy to find as they should be (optics compatibility on a “perfect” combat handgun should be standard by now, but that’s for another time). On top of all of this, there are so many red dots out there, committing to just one can be difficult. If you’re among the shooters who aren’t ready to cut your slide or choose one dot, the Strike Industries Scorpion Universal Reflex Mount Version 2 might be right for you.

Stuff and Things Inc. (S&Tinc) is a designer and manufacturer of firearm upgrades. They are the ones behind the bullpup AK kit. Well, they have come out with something we saw over a decade ago, a paintball-styled double trigger for an AR-15 platform. S&Tinc calls it the Shocker.

Fulton Armory is an established name in the world of match-grade service rifles. Along with their existing line of M-14 rifles, they just announced a Black Hawk DMR tribute model. It is not a clone but is optimized for urban DMR use.
