Benelli have announced a couple of additions to their ETHOS line of semi-auto shotguns. The new guns were introduced at this year’s virtual SHOT Show. The ETHOS SuperSport is aimed at the competitive shotgun shooter market while the ETHOS Cordoba BE.S.T utilises Benelli’s BE.S.T. finish technology for rust and corrosion protection. Since prehistory, hunters have  covered their bodies and faces in materials to camouflage themselves from their prey. When you’re putting food on the table, you want as many advantages as possible. Combining both of these ideas, Browning has introduced the 12 gauge Maxus II Camo, which comes in a variety of patterns and offers a number of advantages. If ducks don’t have nightmares, they’re about to start.

TriStar Arms has recently released several new side-by-side shotguns in their new Bristol lineup. Although they make other firearms, TriStar Arms’ shotguns usually take front and center and the new Bristol lineup is no different with these new shotguns taking on a more artisanal look.

Although Savage‘s rifles are what most firearms enthusiasts know them best for, their shotgun offerings are highly regarded by many hunters and clay shooters as well. These scatterguns are divvied up under three labels: the Savage-named line, the Fox line, and the most prolific of the series is Stevens. Under the Savage shotgun heading, four models of Renegauge semi-autos are available, intended chiefly for waterfowl, turkey, and other bird hunters. The Fox label currently only carries one model, the A Grade, which is a break-open side-by-side design in either 12 gauge or 20 gauge. The Stevens series holds the bulk of the brand’s options, with 27 different models built for a variety of purposes. From hunting to competing to home defense, virtually every shotgun niche is addressed. Now Savage has announced the addition of thumbhole-stock flavors to the Stevens 320 series. If you’ve owned a shotgun for any length of time, you’ll notice that they aren’t exactly made from the factory to be modified. As a result, many companies have to spend time developing new parts to accommodate the ever-changing trends and tactics that set upon the shotgun niche. Shockwave Technologies has just introduced their new Raptor F1 Forend which instantly turns your traditional shotgun into an M-LOK compatible rig able to accept almost any M-LOK compatible accessory.

Blackwater has got their hands on both sides of the firearms business. Not only do they manufacture ammunition with special loadings they also make some higher end firearms for the discerning customer. Last week, deputies from the Alexander County North Carolina Sherrif’s Office recovered a modified weapon during the course of a search of a vehicle during a traffic stop. Jennifer Lee Haun, the driver, was soon arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance during a traffic stop as well as being in possession of a weapon of mass destruction.

Americans seem to make sport of almost anything, and today’s example is no exception.  Several sportsmen made lemonade out of lemons when it came to the invasive species of fish dubbed Flying Carp that’s been plaguing southern boaters since the 1970s, and have reached as far north as Minnesota.  Silver Carp, or Asian Carp, are termed Flying Carp because they literally fly out of the water when startled by a boat motor. The carp in question have caused injuries to boaters and have raised concerns over the aquatic ecosystems they’ve invaded.  People have taken to catching them with nets in the air, hitting them with baseball bats, and shooting them with bow and arrows… and most recently, shooting them with shotguns.

Adaptive Shooting Sports of Tulsa Oklahoma is offering free training for those with physical challenges to learn trap and skeet shooting and possibly a chance to learn how to teach others as well at their special training sessions. Adaptive Shooting Sports is an organization specifically geared to helping find ways for people with physical challenges to enjoy shooting sports.

Krieghoff have announced the introduction of a new 12 gauge competition shotgun based on their K-80. The new K-80 34” Parcours over & under shotgun has a longer barrel and an extended sight plane. The K-80 Parcours is available with either left or right-handed stocks and a choice of engraving patterns or a custom design.

Turkish-headquartered Hatsan Arms chiefly manufactures two product lines: air guns, and shotguns. The latter, branded as Escort Shotguns, includes a variety of models from pump-action to break-open to semi-auto, purposed for hunting/sporting or home defense. From mild to wild, their spectrum of scatterguns runs the gamut. In a July 10th press release, Hatsan has announced a new addition: the semi-automatic Escort BTS bullpup shotgun. See below:

Legacy Sports International is the parent company for several firearms brands, including Howa and Citadel. Seeking to expand their distribution channels, Legacy has partnered with MGE Wholesale and Orion Wholesale, who will be adding Citadel shotguns to their product lines. Some of the available shotguns will include the BOSS-25, an AR-style semi-auto 12 gauge, and the VEPR-style RSS1. The press release announcing this distribution addition reads as follows.

With the exception of the guys that seem content doing mag dumps into the dirt, shooters typically want to shoot at something. The targets that people choose are almost as varied as the firearms they choose to shoot with; anything from professionally made targets bought online or at a sports store, to a piece of garbage found along the roadside. I’ve run the gamut of all sorts of targets myself, but sometimes, the best targets, are free targets.
