ACOG for a PCC? Trijicon's Dedicated 9mm TA47-C

Trijicon’s optics and specifically its line of ACOGs (Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight) are known across the globe for being one of the toughest magnified optics on the planet. Designed specifically for medium-range engagements, selected by both the Marine Corps and U.S. Special Operations forces, ACOGs all feature battery-free design, forged aluminum housings, waterproof and shock-resistant designs, and fairly impressive optical quality across a broad range of magnification levels and BDC designs and types. It goes without saying that ACOGs (in particular the TA11) are among my favorite types of fixed power optics and I’ve recently had the opportunity to play around with Trijicon’s latest addition to the ACOG family – a dedicated 9mm BDC version of the TA47-C (TA47-C-400387). The TA47 is almost as old as I am and is more or less just a 2X power ACOG featuring a 20mm objective lens. So does this 9mm version of the TA47-C ACOG actually make sense for the modern 9mm PCC or are you still better off with other, more affordable optic options for your 9mm PCC?

One Year Later: P365 X-Macro Review – Was It Worth It?

It’s been a little over a year since the SIG Sauer P365 X-Macro was released, and it’s become a popular choice for those looking for a compact handgun that doesn’t sacrifice at all on the performance side of things. Last year, TFBTV’s Hop and I had the opportunity to head out to New Hampshire for the initial release of the SIG P365 X-Macro and had a bit of trigger time with it there. Since then, I’ve acquired my own copy of the P365 X-Macro to use and carry around and I’ve been doing that on and off for the better part of a year now. The question is, after a year of use, do I think the P365 X-Macro is worth the investment? In this review, we’ll take a closer look at the P365 X-Macro to see how it’s held up over time, as well as how it does its job as a concealed carry handgun. So without further ado, here is my P365 X-Macro review – one year later.

SIG SAUER Introduces New P210 Carry Custom Works Handgun

The re-emergence of SIG SAUER‘s P210 handgun has generated a fair amount of buzz over the course of the last few years. The original Swiss-made pistols were much beloved for decades, and many of those models are still in service today, primarily in Europe, nearly two decades after the original line’s cessation of production. The P210’s resurrection in its current US-made form, with the modern Carry and Target models has generally also been well-received. Now a new variant has been added to the series, with SIG’s announcement of their new P210 Carry Custom Works. Get the details on this fresh pistol model in the official announcement and product description paragraphs copied below.

The NEW 9mm CMMG Dissent PDW

The Curious Case of the Colt All American 2000 – Part 1: History

Looking to add some variety to your gun collection? Well, look no further than the Colt All American 2000 – the gun that’s more American than apple pie and bald eagles combined! Okay, maybe not quite, but this quirky little pistol is definitely worth taking a closer look at. From its unconventional design to its reputation as one of the biggest commercial flops in firearm history, the Colt All American 2000 is an interesting piece from a time when the idea of carrying a polymer-framed handgun was just starting to get a foot in the door. At first glance, the All American 2000 might seem like just another polymer-framed 9mm, but it’s the unique features and story behind the gun’s development and release that really set it apart. For “The Curious Case of the Colt All American 2000 Part 1”, we’ll be taking a look at its history before we dive into a field review after I’ve had some more time to really test the handgun at the range.

New 9mm TAC 4.25″/5″ and TAC PRO 4.25″ 1911s from Bul Armory

While Israeli-based Bul Armory manufactures a number of other guns, what many shooters probably associate them most closely with is their lineup of 1911s. The company’s current catalogue features nearly two dozen models based on John Moses Browning’s venerable design. The Bul crew has largely set out to modernize this classic, particularly when it comes to their competition-centric race guns. They’ve come out with 1911s chambered for rounds other than the OG’s .45 ACP, as well – including .38 Super, .40 S&W, and 9mm. This last caliber is now getting three new SAS II-series versions. Meet the TAC PRO 4.25″ and the TAC 4.25″ and 5″ handguns, coming to the US market this year. Get the specs in the two respective press releases copied below.
