TFB had a chance to shoot the first B&T USW-P striker-fired pistol during a recent visit to the B&T headquarters in Switzerland.  Military-inspired, this new striker-fired 9mm pistol is designed specifically for the civilian market.  I had a chance to shoot this pre-production pistol and talk with B&T AG staff about the pistol during our recent visit.  Here’s what I learned.

Tisas has just announced its latest offering to the 1911 market with the introduction of its new 9mm 1911 Stingray Carry Pistol. This new carry-focused 1911 pistol comes standard with a bunch of great features at a price that makes it affordable for virtually anyone who wants to carry a 1911 pistol.

Aguila Ammunition has six decades of tradition and offers a full line of rimfire, centerfire and shotshell ammo. They are now introducing a new 9x19mm, 124-grain Jacketed Hollow Point (JHP), a round they describe as very accurate and made for defense purposes. According to Aguila, the muzzle velocity is 1,150 fps, and the new round has been tested in a wide variety of handguns, from micro compacts to full-size.

Ed Brown has always been known as a manufacturer of high-end 1911-style pistols, however, within the past few years, they have been exploring polymer-framed modern handguns. Their catalog now includes a variety of parts and accessories for non-1911 pistols as well as the Fueled Series of custom S&W M&P pistols. Continuing the expansion into the polymer handgun market, Ed Brown has announced their new 9mm Glock magazines.

Wilson Combat in collaboration with SIG Sauer have released a new pistol – the  WCP320 Compact. Built with Wilson Combat’s P320 X-Compact grip module and a compact slide, the WCP320 Compact is the smallest P320 pattern pistol in Wilson Combat’s catalog. Let’s take a closer look.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at B&T in Switzerland interviewing Karl Brugger about the NEW KH9 Covert. The original KH9 is a Swiss version of the Italian SITES Spectre SMG, a straight blowback 9mm pistol caliber carbine. However, the KH9 Covert has a couple of tricks up its sleeve compared to the original. The KH9 Covert’s pistol grip and magazine well can be folded away in a 90° position, which means that the KH9 Covert’s already slim configuration can be easily stowed in an (included) messenger bag or possibly under a coat without raising the operator’s profile. The pistol grip and magazine well can be rapidly deployed. The KH9 Covert has a unique trigger system where the safety lever acts as a de-cocker for the internal hammer as the trigger is capable of double-action or single-action firing. The KH9 Covert has rails for optics and accessories and a tri-lug adapter on the barrel for use with a quick-attach suppressor. The KH9 features fully ambidextrous controls and the carbine accepts all APC9 or MP9 type polymer magazines.

During our recent trip to B&T AG in Switzerland, B&T unveiled their new KH9 Covert.  This newest version will be made exclusively in Flat Dark Earth (FDE) and will be imported into the U.S. in limited numbers as a pistol.  I had the opportunity to sit down with B&T executives while in Switzerland to talk about the new KH9 Covert.

The micro-compact 9mm concealed carry pistol market is really starting to give US customers an option for practically every style of concealed carry. Similarly, Taurus has been doing its best to meet the demands of the market while slowly but surely shoring up its quality control which has made them quite competitive despite its past reputation. Wilson Combat have announced a new pistol, the SFT9. Like their SFX9 or EDC X9 pistols, the new Wilson Combat SFT9 is based on the 1911 design but has a number of improved parts and new features that should make it more reliable and more adapted to modern shooters’ requirements. SIG Sauer has notified its customers of a potential defect that could exist within specific lots of their 115-grain 9mm Elite Ball ammunition. According to SIG, these lots could have potential powder charge variations that could result in a squib (bullet remaining within the barrel). Obviously, an unnoticed squib could potentially turn into a fatal event should a second round be fired into the bore obstruction. SIG’s recall includes an immediate request for customers to not use this lot of ammunition. The full product recall notice is posted below for your convenience.

Two years ago, we reported that the Polish FB Radom VIS 100 M1 pistol had begun its red tape process of being imported into the United States. After a longer than expected journey, the VIS 100 M1 pistols finally arrived and are available through Arms of America, and Atlantic Firearms. For those that haven’t been following this pistol, the VIS 100 M1 is an optics-ready, fully ambidextrous, metal framed, double action/single action pistol, that’s an evolution beyond the Polish Army’s VIS 100 (no “M1”, previously known as the PR-15 or Ragun). On this edition of TFB’s Wheelgun Wednesday, we’ll take a look at my former everyday carry piece, the Ruger SP101. The .357 Magnum SP101 was introduced a few years after the release of its big brother, the Ruger GP100 in the later half of the 1980s, and has since been chambered for .22LR, .327 Federal Magnum, .38 Special, and 9mm. The Ruger SP101 revolver’s prefix “SP” is generally referred to as “Special Purpose,” compared to the GP100’s “General Purpose,” but doesn’t appear in any current literature on Ruger’s website or advertisements.
