Atlantic Firearms has introduced the DIY Zastava M70 that you can add whatever M70 stock, pistol grip, and handguard set to, which allows the user to customize their rifle right off the bat. AKM rifles have become much more modular in recent years, including lots of options when it comes to furniture. The ability to start off with the shooter’s desired stock set may save some money if they can pick out which stock set they’d like, as well as not having to add to the unused gun accessory pile from the stock set they didn’t want.

A few months ago, I bought and tested the full-size AP5 from Century Arms. Made in Turkey by MKE, the full-size AP5 turned out to be a great clone if you wanted something to customize without worrying about ruining something like an original SP5 from HK. Last month, I decided to pick up its little brother, AP5-P, from a local gun shop to see how the smaller variant shook out. This gun took on three different variations from stock to braced and then moved to its final form of being an SBR. Let’s take a closer look at the Century Arms AP5-P.

About two years ago, Hornady introduces the new 6mm ARC (Advanced Rifle Cartridge). 6mm ARC was designed to be a low recoil high accuracy cartridge that would still fit within the confines of the AR-15 platform. Since then, various companies have put their own dedicated offerings into the market and today the new Wilson Combat Tactical 6mm ARC rifle series has been introduced. This new rifle will come in two different configurations and feature several different camouflage patterns for each configuration.

Although this product was released on April 1st, it’s not a joke. Samson Manufacturing is proud to introduce their next-generation Hannibal Rail for Ruger’s Mini-14 and Mini Thirty rifles. The new Hannibal Rail is now compatible with many of the industry’s most popular red dot optics including the C-MORE, Vortex VENOM, Leupold DeltaPoint Pro, and of course the venerated Trijicon RMR. This new rail will come in two iterations to cover Ruger rifles made both before the changes made to the rifles during 2008.

Have you ever wanted to make your own SCAR 17s? Me neither but maybe I do now. The folks over at Imperial Arms Co. have just made their CYPHERX-ZERO receiver available to the public and this receiver requires no FFL to purchase. This “Zero Percent Blank” (basically an 80%) was approved by the ATF back in April of 2021 and now Imperial Arms is more than happy to offer customers a shot at building out their own SCAR 17s using one of their receivers.

Generally, there isn’t much information about Sudan’s military industry in general and their small arms in particular. Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its various guns, ammunition, gear, and sports! 22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (.22WMR) is a very popular cartridge although maybe not quite as popular as its tiny little sibling the much-venerated .22LR. While .22WMR is great for things like extended range rimfire target shooting or varmint hunting, the cartridge has seen very little attention in the way of semi-automatic firearms outside of a few notable examples like the English-made Guncraft AR-15 or the Savage A22 Magnum rifles. A couple of weeks back Bear Creek Arsenal announced the introduction of their own offering to the field in the way of a complete .22WMR upper for the AR-15 platform. I was fortunate to receive a copy of it for testing and evaluation purposes and today on The Rimfire Report we’ll be running my copy of the BCA 22WMR upper through a series of tests to determine how well it performs as configured out of the box.

Precision rifle shooting has taken off in popularity over the last few years and that excitement and enthusiasm have bled through its centerfire origins right on through to rimfire shooters like myself. I attended my first Rimfire Precision Rifle Series (PRS) match in 2021 and since then I’ve been heavily researching the subject to learn all the ins and outs as well as get a read on some of the trends that the niche sport has taken on. I recently had the opportunity to review one of Modular Driven Technologies’ Oryx chassis for the Ruger 10/22 platform. The Special Projects Division of Meridian Defense Corporation has released another rifle of their 7 SINS series of custom AKs. The new build is the 7th Sin – Pride. It is a milled receiver Bulgarian pattern underfolder stock rifle. It’s a classic pattern gun with no modern upgrade parts but let’s still quickly go over its features.

SHOT Show is the largest event in this industry where an innumerable amount of new products are released annually. By attending the SHOT, not only do you get to see all the new products that are ready to hit the shelves but also some of the prototypes that the companies bring to the show whether as teasers or for gauging the audience reaction. In this article, we’ll take a brief look at the three coolest prototype guns that this author came across during SHOT Show 2022.

Compact and light, rifle caliber personal defense weapons (PDWs) are a compromise to pistol caliber carbines or submachine guns. Unfortunately, short barrel rifles can leave cartridges designed for longer barrels anemic when it comes to terminal performance. MAXIM Defense Short Barrel Ammunition is designed to create wound cavities that outperform expanding and fragmenting rounds and can tumble at velocities down to 500 fps. MAXIM Defense also just released a line of suppressor-friendly frangible ammunition that can be shot on steel targets at very short distances.

I know some of you fellow AK lovers out there are already saying that. But in a world of Russian ammo bans, and uncertainty as far as other imports go given current events, the idea of an AK in a very common cartridge here in the USA is a very tempting and practical proposition. The Palmetto State Armory PSAK-101 and 102 are just such guns and with their introduction they are adding more competition to what was originally a very limited amount of 5.56 offerings from Zastava, WBP, and Arsenal USA.
