At SHOT Show 2022 Franklin Armory has announced two new products – the updated F17 series of semi-auto rimfire rifles chambered in .17WSM and a binary trigger conversion for Glock pistols. Let’s take a brief look at each new Franklin Armory product.

Maxim Defense was probably the company with the most new products released at SHOT Show 2022. They have updated their line of MD-15 rifles, introduced an entirely new suppressor product line, released a new AR10 pattern rifle called MD11 … pretty much everything in their booth was new. Let’s take a look at the list of new Maxim Defense products and see how the company describes them.

Retro guns have been undergoing a renaissance lately, with an increasing number of manufacturers offering firearms that appeal to more classic tastes. Many SHOT Show 2022 vendors displayed wares of interest for the carry handle gang or vintage enthusiasts, or just people who already have plenty of modern guns and just want something different.

Zastava Arms USA brought to SHOT Show 2022 two new firearms chambered in .308 Winchester – the M07-AS bolt-action rifle and the M77 semi-auto rifle. While the former has already made its way to the stateside and can be found on the Zastava Arms USA’s website, it is not yet known if they will import the M77 too.

This year at SHOT, we got a chance to fire a few shots with and take a look at the internals of the MARS  Rifle in its latest iteration.  (From MARS, Inc., not to be confused with LMT’s MARS Modular Ambidextrous Rifle System)

Shown for the first time at SHOT Show 2022 was WEE1 Tactical’s JR-15 rifle.  It’s designed to be a perfect scaled-down replica of the AR platform with youth shooters in mind.  I had a chance to sit down with Eric from WEE1 Tactical to talk about the new AR-pattern 22lr platform.

Daniel Defense unveiled their new RISIII rail alongside new ambi lowers at SHOT Show 2022.  FDE versions of the new RISIII rails were seen on four Daniel Defense rifles that will ship with the new lower receivers.  Here’s a closer look at the newest generation of the rail interface system from Daniel Defense.

B&T unveiled a massive new lineup of silencers and a new 9mm sub-gun at SHOT Show 2022.  On display were silencers that ranged from rimfire to belt-fed rated, as well as the new SPC9 chambered in 9mm.  Here’s a full guide to what’s new and coming very soon from B&T.

LMT unveiled the newest addition to its lineup with the MARS-L9.  The L9 incorporates features from the legendary MARS family of rifles and looks to make a big splash in the PCC market.  I had the chance to shoot the MARS-L9 and talk with LMT about it during Shot Show’s Industry Day at the Range.

Palmetto State Armory showed off a variety of new products today, including the widely rumored and eagerly anticipated 5.7 Rock handgun. They also had their PSAK-105 pistol that I shot yesterday, a PSAK in 5.56, and a clone of the Chinese “Spiker” AK in 7.62×39.

Kalashnikov USA was eager to show off their 5.56 KR-101 rifle on the SHOT show floor today. I spoke with Dave, Kalashnikov USA’s VP of marketing, about it.

The new rifles on hand to shoot from Savage this year were the Impulse Elite Precision in 6.5 Creedmoor and the Model 64 Precision in .22lr. The Impulse Elite Precision was chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and was fitted with a suppressor by the time we got to shoot it. The Model 64 Precision on hand sadly did not have the 20 magazine it typically would come with, but did have a suppressor fitted as well.

Today at Industry Day at the Range for SHOT 2022, Palmetto State Armory showed off their PSAK-105, a 5.45 AK variant. I got a chance to see and shoot it, and I have to say that I was very impressed. The staff at the booth also teased a 5.56 AK, but unfortunately did not have one at the booth itself today.

In this very exciting episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is pleased to announce the Springfield Hellion bullpup rifle, aka the HS Produkt VHS-2 (specifically, the VHS-K2). Springfield is going to be importing this rifle which has been in production in Croatia since 2008. It serves as the national rifle of Croatia and – of all places – Iraq. A little like a FAMAS (but good) the VHS-2 has quite a reputation to uphold. Does Springfield do it justice with this imported version? The first shot heard around the world from the 2022 firearms industry is the announcement of the commercial availability of the SIG Sauer NGSW MCX-SPEAR. The MCX-SPEAR is the rifle in the final stages of selection for the Army’s Next Generation Squad Weapon (NGSW) that will equip soldiers with new rifles, ammunition, optics, and suppressors. Prior to this announcement, SIG offered the MCX in both 5.56m and 300BLK in a AR-15 sized receiver.The SPEAR, initially offered in .277 FURY (6.8 x 51) is easily converted to both 7.62 NATO and 6.5 Creedmoor.

The Savage A-Series of semi-automatic rimfire rifles has been very popular for rimfire shooters and hunters. Savage has just announced the addition of a new caliber offering for their A17 Thumbhole and Sporter rifles with .17 Winchester Super Magnum (.17 WSM). The new A17 WSM rifle is available now and will retail for an MSRP of $619 for the Sporter edition or $709 for the Thumbhole version. The .17 WSM is an extremely light and extremely fast varmint hunting caliber popular with small game hunters.

Kalashnikov USA has been busy the past few months developing and releasing variants of their 7.62x39mm KR-103 rifle. Now after many requests from the community, they have finally added the much desired KUSA KR-104 short-barreled rifle for sale. Based on the Russian AK-104 assault rifle, this is a 12.5 inch barreled, 7.62x39mm chambered factory SBR equipped with a left-side folding stock.

The Ruger 10/22 is a firearm that has seen an overwhelming amount of aftermarket support since its introduction about halfway through the 20th century. The 10/22 aftermarket chassis market now has a load of options to choose from and any of the ones on this list can turn your rifle from a plain plinker into a more versatile rig capable of doing more than Bill Ruger ever intended for the 10/22.

Kalashnikov USA has just added a new variant to their already extremely popular KR-103 line. This new model is the KUSA VISKOV rifle. An upgraded KR-103 with some quality of life upgrades, for the more tactically minded AK connoisseur. These upgrades include an attached flip-up Picatinny top cover, collapsible stock, and M-LOK rail system among a few other things.

There are so many variations when you talk about AK platform rifles. American-made AKs have become more popular over the past few years, but some folks still prefer those made somewhere to the east. Delivering classics to the U.S., Atlantic Firearms is now importing Polish-made AKs from WBP, designating them the Jack Classic Rifle.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop takes a look at the new Smith & Wesson M&P15 Tactical II. This is the first S&W AR to fully adopt the changes in the civilian AR market of the last 20 years. S&W is slow to change, but this rifle represents a strong endorsement of the modern 16″ mid-length gas, medium profile barrel setup. This is a very versatile rifle, but given the price point, it might be a little bit lacking out of the box.

Palmetto State Armory, as in the past, quietly added a new Kalashnikov to their already eclectic lineup of popular AKM style rifles and pistols. This time it’s the Palmetto State Armory AK-105. Chambered in 5.45x39mm and featuring a 4.5mm rear folding trunnion, short (12.5in/317.5mm) barrel, and polymer folding stock. This is coming only a few months after they introduced the 7.62x39mm AK-104 which features the same length barrel and folding stock. As of the time of writing only the rifle version with extended muzzle booster, and brace-equipped pistol are live on the website but Palmetto State Armory is sure to introduce all of the same rifle and pistol configurations that are available for the AK-104.
