In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at SIG’s headquarters speaking with Jason St. John about the new SIG MCX Raptor. The MCX Raptor is a shorter-barreled and more compact .308 (and likely a 6.5 Creedmoor and 6.8x51mm) platform. The Special Projects Division of Meridian Defense Corporation has unveiled another AK in the 7 SINS series of custom AK builds. Dubbed “The 6th Sin ENVY”, this AK pistol is the second release with the first one being The 1st Sin LUST. Let’s see what is ENVY made of.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at Steyr USA’s HQ in Alabama talking with the head instructor of the Steyr Academy, Brian Marshall, about the AUG LMG or light machine gun – the Steyr AUG HBAR. James and Brian go over the features of this unique full auto and even subject it to a 600m accuracy test at the Civilian Marksmanship Park.

In recent years PCC or pistol caliber carbine has rapidly exploded into popularity in the competition scene with many enjoying it for its ease of entry and fast pace.  For a long time direct blowback guns like CZ Scorpions, AR9’s and gas-operated rifles like the SIG Sauer MPX reigned supreme in the division but JP’s newest offering, the JP5, takes the cake when it comes to high-end PCC’s for competition.

Expanding their MSR (Modern Sporting Rifle) line of AR-pattern rifles, Fierce Firearms has released the F-10 Sidewinder, an AR-10 style rifle, the bigger brother of their F-15 Sidewinder 5.56/223 AR. The company markets this new product to both hunters and tactical shooters “who require an extremely accurate, lightweight rifle that provides quick follow-up shots“. If you’ve been waiting to get your hands on one of KE Arms WWSD rifles then you’re in luck. Brownells has just announced that the KP-15 equipped WWSD 2020 rifle is currently in stock and ready to ship straight from their warehouse to your FFL. The WWSD was a pretty monumental release for KE Arms back at the end of 2020 and although I have had two of their lowers for close to a year, I still haven’t been able to acquire all the parts to build out a complete rifle. If you’ve been struggling like I have to get all the correct parts for the build, maybe it’s time to just bite the bullet and purchase the completed rifle.

I love a true AR-15 rifle. The classic 20″ barrel with a rifle-length gas tube and rifle recoil system is a joy to shoot. One of my perpetual favorite rifles is an FN M-16A4 Military Collector model topped with a 3.5x ACOG. That rifle accompanies me on almost every range outing. When the opportunity came to test a similarly-configured PSA gun I jumped at the chance. For convenience, in this I will be referring to this rifle as an AR-15A4 after the similarly-configured Colt AR-15A4.

Alright alright, I know you may be surprised to see the guy that talks about old stuff and makes fun of all the tacticool folks out there reviewing a 300AAC Blackout pistol. I will own the fact that I really genuinely am usually disinterested in anything that looks like this but when Palmetto State Armory reached out to TFB, I took the opportunity to work with a caliber and specific pistol offering for a reason; I’ve never shot 300 Blackout. Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and all of its cool ammunition, competitions, and firearms. This week I’ll be covering a rifle I had never run into before until several weeks ago during a TFB event in Texas that was made possible by Crimson Trace and ATN Corp. During our trip out to Texas, we had the chance to do a lot of great shooting – rimfire shooting included. I had a chance to test out several of my rimfire review guns including the new H&K MP5 pistol and rifle, and I even had a chance to run some sweet ATN and Crimson Trace optics on my personally owned Ruger Precision Rimfire. However, aside from all of these, one of the more interesting guns I got my hands on was the Savage A22 Precision rifle. The word “precision” doesn’t really come into my mind when it comes to semi-auto rimfire rifles but I had the equipment and ammo there so I decided to put the rifle to the test.

One of my personal favorite firearms manufacturers, Volquartsen, has a great  .22LR rifle specifically aimed at the limited class of steel challenge shooters. The Open Sight Volquartsen 22LR rifle is nearly as simple as it gets for a .22LR rifle – it has open sights. However, this particular rifle comes with a few other upgrades done by the people at Volquartsen to make it a complete package for the budding Steel Challenge Grand Master.

Happy RUGER (10/22) Day everybody! As a lot of you know, rimfire is one of my favorite subsections of the firearms world and I absolutely love getting out and ringing steel with my 10/22 rifles and pistols.TFB is always happy to celebrate the handy little rimfire rifle. In a lot of ways, the ubiquitous 10/22 is my anchor point for my firearms life as it was the first firearm I ever shot and I have always had one in my collection in some way, shape or form. Since its introduction in 1964, the 10/22 series has seen a lot of growth, adoration, and experimentation in the firearms community and for a nearly 60-year-old rifle, it still has a solid place within the firearms world as a trainer, plinker, and competition rifle.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! I’ve got great news for rimfire enthusiasts: It’s finally here! The OpenTop 11/22 receiver. Those that have followed Sebastian for a couple of years will know that he’s poured his blood, sweat, and probably tears into this project and it has finally come to fruition. For those that don’t know, the OpenTop 11/22 receiver was a project started by Sebastian Unger back in 2017 in his uncle’s garage near Vienna, Austria. The project basically sought out to take the 10/22 design and modernize it to include an integrated Picatinny rail and best of all, allow for easier cleaning of the rifle without complete removal from the stock and the trigger pack.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves reviews the Daniel Defense DDM4 V7, including a mini torture test of this premium AR-15. With an MSRP of $1,800 to $2,000, this review raises the question: Is this Daniel Defense AR-15 actually worth this amount of money? Back in March,  we reported that the Polish Army is seeking a new Designated Marksman Rifle. It has been reported by Polish media sources that FB Radom and Zakłady Mechaniczne Tarnów have been approached to submit proposals to fulfill the Polish Army’s requirements. This month, while attending DSEI 2021 in London, we got a look at both of the rifles reported to be in the running for the Polish Army’s DMR tender. Both companies are part of Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ SA) or the Polish Armaments Group. PGZ unites Poland’s defense industry under a single state-owned holding company.

The catalog of Italian/American company WOOX currently contains three rifle chassis – Furiosa, Exactus and Wild Man. Up until now, the WOOX chassis were available for bolt action rifles only (Remington 700, Tikka T3, Sauer 100, Savage 110, Howa 1500). Well, the company has just expanded this product line by introducing versions of all three chassis compatible with the Ruger 10/22 rimfire semi-auto rifle.

In 2007 Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was released, and players experienced the latest and greatest in firearms technology in high resolution. Players of the series found themselves immersed in a game with new guns, and not forced to use those same old re-rendered guns their grandparents used in WWII.  Since its release, the Modern Warfare series has taken the world by storm. Recently I found myself in the SilencerCo Batcave with a sound meter already set up, and a little extra time to spare. So like a kid in a candy store, I asked if we could meter some of my favorite guns from the Modern Warfare franchise, and they kindly agreed.

AR-15 is the quintessential American rifle. For years the AR-15 has been a reliable, modular, and capable platform for every American gun owner to work off of for a variety of reasons. Brownells has just announced an exclusive new rifle – the Brownells Super Duty AR-15 Rifle. The new rifle comes right from the factory with a ton of features that modern shooters are after, and quality parts and components from some of the most reputable names in the business.

For the last two years, the gun industry has been a tough place to navigate. Between material shortages and panic buying, certain firearms have been difficult or even impossible to find. Kalashnikov Concern first showed the prototype of AKV-521 rifle in November 2020. During the ARMY-2021 exhibition, the company unveiled the final version of this rifle that has passed factory endurance testing and is ready for mass production. The main design difference from AK rifles is that AKV-521 utilizes a two-receiver layout.

In this episode of TFBTV, Hop tests the Palmetto State Armory PA-10 Gen 3. This rifle is PSA’s take on the AR-10 or LR-308 platform; available with an 18″ or 20″ barrel, and a variety of trigger and handguard options. The out of the box features of the PA-10 are very basic, making it a canvas for aftermarket customization. Of course, none of that matters if it’s not accurate, so in a show of admirable self-restraint, Hop actually did some accuracy testing too. Welcome to TFB Weekly Amazon Deals 10. This week we’ve got a lineup of 10/22 accessories to look at. The 10/22 is kind of a jack of all trades when it comes to firearms. It’s cheap and fun to shoot but also makes a great small game hunting implement. The 10/22 has been around for close to 60 years now and I’m glad to see the rifle still being modified by end-users as well as Ruger adding new iterations from time to time. There’s nothing wrong with a bone stock 10/22 rifle but my own 10/22 is somewhat of a guinea pig for testing out different types of aftermarket parts, not so much to make the rifle more useful or reliable but more out of just pure morbid curiosity on what said accessories are all about.
