Earlier this year the Canadian government confirmed it would be procuring a further 3,626 C6A1 FLEX General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG) from Colt Canada. This large contract is worth CA$96.97 million and was awarded under the Canadian government’s Munitions Supply Program.

Daniel Defense recently added  three new upgraded versions to their DD5 lineup.  This expanded the DD5’s lineup in terms of barrel length, caliber, and overall features.  This overhaul makes the DD5 series of rifles more attune to the customer’s needs.  Keen to try out the latest and greatest, I asked Daniel Defense if I could review the DD5 V5 chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor, and they kindly obliged.

“World’s lightest production AR-10’s” – that’s what a company called Roam claims when describing their new R-10 rifles. The lightest of Roam R-10 line of rifles is the R-10 Red River Ultralight which being chambered in .308 Win and having a 16″ pencil barrel, weighs in at 5.73 lbs. These rifles were first introduced at SHOT Show 2020, and they are now available for preorder.

The Mk 13 Sniper Rifle in .300 Win Mag is being phased out and replaced by a semi-automatic platform in 6.5 Creedmoor. With that change there is of course a change in ammunition and Hornady are happy to announce that they got the contract for the consumables.

Hello and welcome back to another edition of  The Rimfire Report. In this ongoing series we discover, review, and discuss anything and everything surrounding the rimfire firearm world. This week we’ll be talking about what some of the best lightweight rimfire varmint rifles are for control of rodents, coyotes, crows, foxes, feral cats, and groundhogs.

AKs of Zastava Arms USA are some of the highest quality production Kalashnikov pattern rifles currently available in the USA. Their full-size 7.62x39mm rifle, ZPAPM70, is a rugged and reliable gun and as the company says, is built like a tank. However, 7.62x39mm Zastava AKs have always lacked one important feature – chrome-lined barrels. A lot of people have been asking Zastava Arms USA to add this feature to the rifles and looks like the company listens to its customers because from now on, all ZPAPM70 rifles will come standard with chrome-lined barrels.

Over the last few weeks, the TFB crew has discussed a number of times what their End of the World gun would be if they had to just pick one. I was rather torn since I typically carry a 10.5 AR pistol in my truck on a daily basis. The more I thought about it, there’s no way I would be stuck with a really short 5.56 barrel on my end of the world gun. Pete started this series and encouraged everyone to write their perfect gun and for the most part, I agree with Pete’s choices. The main difference between Pete’s choice and mine is the fact I live in the rather flat areas of Michigan.

Welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report. In this ongoing series we discuss, explore and review various aspects of the rimfire world. This week we’ll be discussing the new-ish Mossberg Blaze semi-automatic rifle. The Mossberg Blaze was released In early 2015 as a carbine style 22LR rifle. I have owned one for about 4 years and thought I’d share my experiences with the Blaze.

Over the last year, the Kalashnikov KP-9 has become increasingly popular in the gun market as a cheaper alternative to the MP5 clones and other AR-style PCC guns. I have finally had my KP-9 out of the ATF jail so it is an SBR and I finally was able to run it as an SBR for a couple thousand rounds. After I spent some time with it, I’m excited to talk about the good and bad I’ve experienced so far with the fun little KP-9. Let’s dive into this little PCC tac driver.

Did you recognize the Swiss Sturmgewehr 57 in the top image? Amazing, isn’t it? This conversion done by a Swiss company called Hubertec looks like a very well thought out design that turns an ugly duckling like the Stgw 57 into such a beauty. Not only the converted rifles look cool but they also pack features that we normally want to see in modern rifles. Let’s take a closer look.

TFB reader, Axel, contacted me about a futuristic rifle design he’d worked out with inspiration drawn from a sci-fi rifle he’d found on DeviantArt.com. I was instantly intrigued, and I think you will be too.

Wilson Combat and renowned firearms expert Paul Howe have been cooperating for quite a long time and the results of their collaboration are always great firearms such as the Paul Howe Tactical 5.56 Carbine or Paul Howe Signature Glock Pistols. The latest firearm they built together is the Paul Howe 6.5 Creedmoor rifle which Wilson Combat describes as “all-purpose medium to long-range tactical rifle with an effective terminal range surpassing 1000 yards“.

You know how it goes, you’ve seen a few AR-15 builds, you’ve pretty much seen them all… until today!  We truly do live in strange times, when someone can build an AR-15 made to accept AK patterned magazines made to hold 6.5 Grendel cartridges, with the added feature of a side charging handle on the left side like the FN FAL. This particular AR-15 build was completed by Redditor Glenn but inspired by AP Smizzler’s thread on the 65Grendel.com forum.

As the German Army is taking the next step towards a new assault rifle, they are also looking for a semi-automatic precision rifle in 7.62x51mm. The Federal Office responsible for the Bundeswehr equipment procurement ( BAAINBw) has published a tender titled: “Scharfschützenwaffe kurze Reichweite (SSchtzWa kRw) G26”

Cosmi semi-auto shotguns have always been some of the most fascinating firearms in the shotgun world. With long recoil action, tubular magazine located in the stock, and action capable of pivot opening like a break-action shotgun, the design of Cosmi guns is unusual, to say the least. From the establishment of the company, Cosmi only made shotguns, however, they’ve recently entered the rifle market by introducing the new Rigato rifle that utilizes the same design as their shotguns.

The Barrett M82A1 is one of the most iconic and recognizable rifles on the planet today.  Since 1989 they’ve been the go-to anti-materiel rifle for various military and law enforcement agencies.  Mike Pappas of Dead Air Silencers is certainly no stranger to 50 BMG and has been a Barrett M82 enthusiast for years.  Except he decided the best could be even better and decided to overhaul his own M82A1.

In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of Yevgeny Dragunov’s birthday,  Kalashnikov Media published a series of videos and articles about this ingenious designer’s life and career. In this installment of The Rimfire Report, we’ll take a look at one of the lesser-known firearms designed by Yevgeny Dragunov – the TSV-1 (ТСВ-1) rimfire rifle.

Spuhr of Sweden has had quite some success with various stocks for various Heckler & Koch rifles like the G3 and the MP5. For instance the Swedish and Portuguese G3 upgrade orders as well as the large MP5 upgrade order from the German Bundespolizei. Spuhr now has a new stock for the Heckler & Koch MP5 which is a drop-in folding stock that fits also the HK33, HK53 and clones.

I first encountered MarColMar’s resurrection of the CETME-L at SHOT 2019.  I must admit I was immediately drawn to these stamped beauties.  Designed in the late 70’s/early 80’s and fielded from 1987-1999 in the Spanish military, the CETME-L is a pretty neat variation on the roller-delayed theme, all while having full STANAG-magazine compatibility.  MarColMar spent millions modernizing the reassembly of parts kits (including the use of robots), and has been cranking out easily the best examples available on the US market.
