Rhineland Arms and Global Defense made a splash at SHOT 2023 with their R2000 rifle chassis. That kit builds a reduced-scale WA2000 clone with AR-15 internals. A big brother is now in the works, with a .308 Winchester-size version on the way.

Kevin Brittingham and those maniacs at Q are at it again! If you’re not familiar, Q is the company famous for the Honey Badger rifle amongst many other innovations in the firearms industry. This time they have set their sights on producing a semi-automatic rifle chambered in the new 8.6 Blackout cartridge. Upon first impressions, it’s easy to see that Q has really turned the volume up to 11 on this rifle, even naming it “The Boombox” Ironically the only thing the Boombox shares with its 90’s counterpart is its name. It’s a meticulously well-engineered, lightweight, and mostly quiet rifle that spews out a massive piece of lead.

Back at NRAAM 2023, TFBTV’s Hop and I had a chance to check out the subtly launched Anderson Manufacturing AM15 Dissipator Carbine. The Anderson Dissipator carbine was an unexpected hit at the Primary Arms Range Day 2023, and NRAAM 2023 with, Hop, myself, and a couple of other writers having a blast running magazine after magazine through the retro-inspired rifle. Benelli USA have announced a limited edition version of their Lupo bolt-action rifle dubbed Lupo KAOS. What sets the Lupo KAOS apart from regular Lupo rifles of similar configuration is the custom Cerakote finish of the stock, receiver and barrel. Let’s take a quick look at other features of the limited edition Benelli Lupo KAOS rifle.

In part 1 and part 2 of this article, I talked about the history of Romanian AKs and their most unexpected users. Now it is time to talk about the production of those guns and some of the issues I experienced while inspecting and repairing them.

Adopted by the Russian military in 2018, the AK-12 rifle has since gone through several revisions that resulted in some design changes such as the replacement of the AR15-style stock and the introduction of the one-piece polymer pistol grip/trigger guard. Kalashnikov Concern recently published information about the latest 2023 upgrades of the AK-12 rifle that were requested by the Russian military based on the feedback from the Russo-Ukrainian War. These design changes are apparently not significant enough to give the rifle a new model name, so it’s referred to as the AK-12 model of 2023.

In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves interviews the creator of the Honey Badger, Kevin Brittingham of Q, about the new Q Boombox. The Boombox is, more or less, the “big brother” of the Honey Badger. While the Honey Badger uses a 5.56mm sized frame to accommodate .300 Blackout rounds, the Boombox uses the new 8.6mm Blackout, which works in the same size frame as 7.62mm guns like .308 and 6.5 Creedmoor. And even though the Boombox has a big caliber and capability jump, it is only a few ounces heavier and a few inches longer than the Honey Badger. See what all the noise is about.

The trend of modernizing and updating the lever-action gun is seriously starting to take off with all sorts of great aftermarket parts that allow the attachment of virtually any type of accessory to your favorite lever gun. Midwest Industries has just announced their latest M-LOK handguard for Rossi and Winchester lever-action firearms. This new handguard like others in the lever-gun series is made from the 6061 hard coat anodized aluminum and features plenty of M-LOK sections for mounting accessories.

PRS shooters demand a lot out of their gear and a lot of the time that gear is extremely specialized. Over the years it’s developed into a series of articles that thousands of our readers enjoy. Those who know me, know my passion for firearms and sports cars, so what could be better than this Blaser R8 Ultimate Silverstone? In case you didn’t know, Silverstone is a race track in the United Kingdom. The car in the background is, of course, the Aston Martin DB5 famous from James Bond‘s Goldfinger. Mr Bond’s car came fully loaded with machine guns, tire slashers, oil jets, a rotating license plate, and an ejector seat for unwanted passengers.

Back in September of 2022, the mad scientists at MDT built a bolt action rifle chambered in .308 Winchester that had a six-foot long barrel made by screwing together two barrels. As you can imagine, that’s not an easy task because you have to make sure that the lands and grooves of the two barrels align and form one continuous rifling in the bore. Not easy, but apparently not impossible. They then cut that barrel in one-inch increments firing rounds after cutting every section and recording the ballistic data. The goal was to find out the influence of the barrel length on the muzzle velocity. Well, MDT has recently  repeated the same experiment except now with a rimfire rifle chambered in .22LR and fitted with an almost four-foot barrel (46.5″) made by joining two 26″ barrels. Let’s take a look at the results of this experiment.

Rifle Dynamics have announced a new series of AK rifles called Mark II which is based on their earlier released Quickhatch AK pistols. The main difference from their older rifle models is that instead of using standard AK lower handguards with UltiMAK railed gas tubes, the new Rifle Dynamics Mark II rifles are built with M-LOK aluminum handguards designed in collaboration with Occam Defense Solutions.
