New this year from Tippmann Ordnance is a .22LR Gatling Gun with an innovative and low-cost feed belt.  The six-barreled gun comes complete with a tripod, T&E mechanism and belts.  The belts themselves are an all-new polymer design from Tippmann Ordnance that is low-cost and, according to them, easy to load. The Tippmann Ordnance .22LR Gatling Gun can fire pretty fast, but its gear is rated to 600 rounds per minute.

Hidden away in Mossberg’s SHOT booth was a few new shotguns: Mossberg 590S models with the Optic Ready capability, as well as new M-LOK forends.  Able to mount a low-profile optic, and cycling everything from mini shells to 3″, the new 590S Optic-Ready models are available with 18″ and 20″ barrels, both retailing at $704 MSRP.

At SHOT Show 2023 Range Day, RISE Armament had their new Iconic trigger out to try out. RISE Armament makes some fantastic drop-in triggers for the AR platform and the Iconic trigger is a new design where the first and second stages are independent of each other.

Knight’s Armament Company (KAC) has produced suppressors since the later 1970s, and they continue to do so. KAC displayed several new models at SHOT 2023 featuring additive manufacturing techniques.

Barwarus and Frontier Armory had a few interesting upgrades for AK-pattern guns at their SHOT Show 2023 booth.

New from Viridian this year is a closed emitter green dot sight, the FX45.  With a 5 MOA green dot, 6061 aluminum housing and fitting into the Aimpoint ACRO footprint, the Viridian FX45 is available at an MSRP of $459.00.  Viridian is also offering a host of other new and updated sights, lights and lasers.

America is getting another hot Italian Import: the Beretta PMXs, a semiautomatic version of their 9x19mm PMX submachinegun.   Though TFBTV’s James Reeves covered this development in May of 2022, Beretta brought this gun to SHOT 2023, bringing this development one step closer to reality.

New this year from RIA USA is an American designed, American-made pistol with a lot of unique features: The 5.0 Pistol in 9x19mm.  We got a chance to shoot this smooth operator at SHOT 2023 Industry Day at the Range.  Let’s take a closer look:

Foxtrot Mike Products have a few new models of their FM-15 on display at SHOT Show. All models were the new and improved Gen 2 versions.

Nightstick introduced the new TCM-5B and TCM-365 weapon lights for micro compact pistols, as well as some updates to other products at SHOT 2023. Let’s look at the specs and see what they bring to the table.

New for 2023 from IWI US is an American version of IWI’s Carmel rifle.  With the same 2 position gas selector and cold hammer forged, chrome line free-floated barrel as the international Carmel, the US semiautomatic only version has some cosmetic differences that may be a better fit for the US market.  Let’s take a look.

This year at Shot Show Industry Day at the Range, Savage brought their new 1911 pistols in 3 different trims both with and without rails, and with Black Nitride, Stainless and two-tone schemes.  Savage Also brought out their new A22 takedown and their carbon barreled lightweight Impulse Mountain Hunter straight pull rifle.

As previously reported on TFB, new this year from Glock will be a Davidson’s dealer exclusive Gunsite G45.  Designed as a collaboration between Glock, Gunsite and Holosun, the Gunsite G45 was designed to be a robust fighting pistol in the vein of what Col. Jeff Cooper would want to see in a fighting handgun.  The Gunsite G45 has a Holosun optic as the main sighting system, with iron sights as backup.  The magazine release and trigger connector have also been modified to Gunsite’s specs.  Finally, a removable lanyard loop in the grip frame and a Gunsite logo on the top of the slide round out the Glock/Gunsite G45.

Zastava USA had all kinds of new things in the works for 2023.  First and most prominent,will be the addition to their catalogue of true underfolding ZPAPM70’s in the M70AB configuration, complete with bayonet lug.  In addition to being a true underfolder integrated into the receiver as opposed to their bolt-on underfolding kit, the new under folders will be the first Zastava USA ZPAP’s to have a bayonet lug as well.

One of the many new products at the SHOT Show industry range day was the Military Armament Corporation JSOC 1911. This 5″ Government model 1911 is a call back to the older styles of done up 1911s with modern machining processes and materials.

Today at SHOT Show 2023’s Industry Day at the Range, we got hands-on trigger time with a few New Glock Products.   Team Glock’s Shane Coley ran us through the new G20 Gen5 MOS, along with their new G47.  Furthermore, we got to try out Glock’s new Performance trigger, a flat faced trigger that currently fits all Gen 5 9mm’s except the G43/48 slim frames.

The Beretta BRX1 is projected to arrive in the USA as of 2024.  We got a chance to put some rounds downrange and play with the easy modularity of Beretta’s silky smooth straight pull action today, let’s take a closer look:

Dry firing can allow you to practice 75-80% of your fundamentals without firing a single round. With new methods coming out constantly, it’s good to take a look at some great tools for new dry fire methods.

If you’re anything like me, you probably understand the struggle to have enough space in your gun safe or storage system. One of the biggest struggles I often have with my firearms is having the proper amount of storage. I own several safes that seem to fill up almost overnight. I decided a couple months ago to pick up a storage system for firearms in my office so I can easily store certain firearms at my work to keep things easy. I recently received an email on my social media about someone who was recently charged in their state for displaying a firearm in a road rage situation. He sent me a very long message about how unfair the situation was but he made some fairly large mistakes. I think this is a fantastic situation to look closer at some of the dangers of carrying concealed.

Limited edition shoes aren’t my thing, but the 5.11 Norris Multicam limited edition did catch my eye when launched.  The Norris is more akin to a workboot in terms of features but they look and wears like a sneaker.  As a result, these quickly became my go-to shoes for daily use.  Now after 2 years of hard use and abuse, let’s take another look at them

Located in Salt Lake City, Utah is the production empire known as TacGas.  Founded in 2016 by Jim Staley, they’ve quickly become the go-to production company for both video game studios and defense contractors.  In 2019 Call of Duty Modern Warfare and its counterpart Warzone took the world by storm. Since then TacGas has been Call of Duty’s go-to production company that’s helping bring more realism into the massive franchise.  I had a chance to tour the TacGas facility and sit down with Jim Staley to ask him more about how this process works.  Here’s what I learned.
