It’s a shame that some of the bigger sales of the year don’t happen until at least Independence Day as I usually use this time to take a full inventory of my guns, gear, and ammo and then either sell off stuff I don’t need or reload on some consumables I am starting to run “low” on. If you’re anything like me, then movies have been a huge influence on your love for firearms. Whether it’s classic movies like Heat, Die Hard, or True Lies, all of these movies made an impression on me when it comes to what I thought was a cool movie firearm. One of the newer movies on the list, Denzel Washington’s post-apocalypse action movie The Book of Eli, is another great example of a movie full of cool guns. While there is everything from full autos to a civil war era Gatling gun, I want to focus on the main character’s firearms and why he may have chosen them. Angstadt Arms is probably most well-known now for being one of the few companies to make a roller delayed blowback 9mm PCC that isn’t an MP5. The Angstadt Arms roller delayed MDP-9 is a 9mm pistol or SBR that provides the user with a platform that is both compact and compatible with more affordable and available 9mm Glock magazines. In today’s episode, Rich and I discuss some of the development processes behind the MDP-9, some updates on the development of the integrally suppressed Vanquish 9mm upper, and a new variant chambered in .22LR that should be coming later this year. Welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 43! I hope everyone’s St. Patrick’s Day weekend was not only full of many libations and good conversations, but also plenty of shooting! The Irish certainly had their own influence on the modern firearms culture we see in the world today and in fact, the Irish were some of the first people to document the use of arquebuses by German mercenarians operating in Dublin in the latter half of the 15th century. A more familiar and modern influence from Ireland comes from John Rigby when he founded John Rigby & Co Gunmakers Limited in 1775. Today Rigby makes very high-end hunting rifles and is now under the ownership of the L&O Group, which also owns Blaser, Sauer, and Mauser. Anyway, this has nothing to do with any of the deals that we’ve gathered for you today, but I did want to share this tiny bit of Irish firearms history with you all! KelTec is always coming up with new and interesting guns. Their P17 is one of, if not the, lightest .22LR pistols on the market and one of the most affordable. It’s also now joining the ranks of red dot-capable pistols with the introduction of a red dot-equipped P17 slide.

CMMG’s Radial Delayed Blowback pistols are some of the most popular options for those looking for a pistol caliber carbine. However, with the recent stirrings in the NFA sphere regarding pistol stabilizing braces, the braced pistol option is quickly falling out of favor. CMMG is attempting to at least salvage part of what you have already by offering up new Radial Delayed Blowback Rifle Conversion Kits in its primary pistol caliber carbine cartridges: .45, 9mm, and 5.7x28mm.

High Speed Gear’s TACO mag pouch system is one of the most popular options on the market for those who like to run tactical gear at the range, or as part of their day job. TACOs make it much easier to retain, remove, and reinsert magazines, however, High Speed Gear has just announced that they’ve improved the design of the original TACO with the introduction of the Polymer TACO V2 featuring an updated appearance, as well as new features for better functionality for the user.

In the world of carrying a concealed firearm, the market is shifting in strange directions and is even starting to move back into the world of single-action type 2011s and 1911s over something like a striker-fired handgun. With the gradual shift from small micro-style guns to larger framed firearms, it’s important to look at the reliability of certain firearms as time goes on. Let’s take a closer look at pistol type reliability over time.

SHOT Show 2023 could be called the year of the Turbo for SureFire. SureFire has been a juggernaut in the handheld and weapon light market. With various companies making weapon lights for intensity over distance, it’s good to see the new Surefire Turbo weapon lights.

Before SHOT 2023, I was tipped off by a co-worker who knew that I was a Tikka fan that a company was bringing a bullpup chassis and optimized bullpup trigger for the Tikka to SHOT.  That company is MK Machining of Hallsville, MO.  One of the few bright lights in the otherwise dingy SHOT Dungeon was MK Machining’s MK2 Bullpup Chassis, which is now available for Remington 700 short and long actions, as well as Tikka T3 actions.

Accurate Mag is one of the leading manufacturers of AICS-pattern magazines, but they also produce actions and complete rifles.

Bergara sister company CVA continues to roll out new bolt action rifles and muzzleloaders. Their new Cascade XT and Paramount Pro V2 were both present at Industry Day At The Range of SHOT Show 2023.

Rhineland Arms had some very unique guns on display at their SHOT Show booth. They had two replicas of legendary designs (WA 2000 And FG-42) that are far more accessible than the originals.

Manners Composite Stocks introduced their new Pro Hunter lightweight carbon fiber rifle stock at SHOT Show 2023. The Pro Hunter blends features of long-range and tactical stocks with features popular on hunting stocks.

New this year from KelTec, formerly known as Kel-Tec, is the KSG410, a dual mag tube, single-barrel shotgun that fits into the footprint of KelTec’s KS7.  Also new from KelTec is their R50, a 16″ barreled rifle version of their P50 5.7×28 pistol, complete with a folding stock that attaches to the bottom of the grip.

Bergara’s newest rifle models (Crest, HMR Carbon, And Ridge Carbon), all with carbon fiber components, were present at Industry Day At The Range 2023 as well as SHOT Show proper. All three of these new models have threaded barrels.

Ruger’s Mayodan, NC facility has been busy cranking out reintroduced Marlin models, and they have two more to add to their list: the 1894 and 336.  The reintroduced models have features updated such as hooded front sights and should be available soon to the public.

New this year via Grand Power’s importing partner Global Ordnance will be a .22LR Stribog as well as fully outfitted Stribog Carbines.  The .22LR Stribog TR22 will initially come as a pistol, priced close to the 9mm Stribogs.  The Stribog carbines will be assembled in the United States with at least the requisite number of parts to be 922r compliant, if not more.  There are also two new pistols coming this year from Grand Power: an LP chambered in 9×18 Makarov and the AREX Delta XTAC.
