Creedmoor Sports has expanded its range of competition shooting gear to include support bags for PRS and NRL matches. This new product range includes four different models. Let’s take a look at the various options.

A lot of you here on TFB have closely followed various court cases over the years as we’ve reported them to you. In recent memory, there have been lawsuits between optics companies, and firearms manufacturers alike. Recently the TFB Podcast was reached out to by our guest today Mr. Dan Evans who not only reads TFB but has a particular interest in these specific topics – because it’s literally his job. Dan is an attorney who works for an Intellectual Property law firm and today he’s here to help walk us through the intricacies of patents and give us some insight as to how, and why various companies may want to sue one another over any alleged intellectual property violations. If you’ve been following the GWACs v KE Arms Lawsuit or the more recent Glock v Polymer80 case, this is a great episode to get a general understanding of how and why these processes take place.

Rimfire enthusiasts are getting a treat this month with the announcement of Keystone Sporting Arms’ new KSA2190 Overlander Pack Rifle chambered in .22LR! This new single-shot bolt-action rifle builds off of the reliable and simple Crickett action and adds a bunch of neat, modular features that make it better suited to be a survival or pack rifle. Over on The Rimfire Report, we’ve been cycling through all of the different types of rimfire survival rifles for review, and this one is certainly one I’d love to add to the list.

If you’re the proud owner of the unique KRISS Vector SDP (the version with a 6.5″ barrel) you’re probably lacking some much-needed space in terms of areas for attachments like lights, lasers, and verticle foregrips. Strike Industries has just announced their latest aftermarket accessory specifically for the KRISS Vector SDP with their new Stike Handguard featuring M-LOK attachment sections.

AGM Global Vision presents the new Neith Digital Night Vision Scopes. According to AGM, it’s the optimal solution for budget-conscious hunters, with a desire to begin with night hunting. The display has full color during the day and black & white at night. Additional features include an integrated IR illumination, built-in video recording, detachable and rechargeable 18650 batteries, and the American Defense MFG (ADM) QD mount so you can attach it to your firearm. The camera sensor uses a 2560×1440 ultra-low light optical detector, which is displayed on a 1920×1080 OLED display inside the ocular. Thanks to the built-in long-range IR illuminator the detection range is claimed to be up to 400 meters. The AGM Neith DS32-4MP sells for $879.00, and the AGM Neith DC32-4MP costs $989.00.

Volquartsen Firearms is expanding upon its already extensive list of premium rimfire firearms with the introduction of two new rifles in the VF-ORYX series. Two new offerings in 17 HRM and 22 WMR will now be made available with all of the same premium features offered on the VF-ORYX 22LR versions but will now give rimfire shooters access to longer engagement distances with ammo that is ideal for long-range shooters and varmint hunters.

Bul Armory announced several new and improved handgun variants at IWA 2023, and today we’ll take a look at those from their SAS II series. There are three, all optics-ready: the SAS II Radical 5.4″, Air, and Saw models. Each is a 1911-based design offered in either 9mm or .40 S&W, and aimed largely at the competition market for use in IPSC Standard and USPSA Limited/Limited Optics divisions. They all feature stainless steel construction, and range in MSRP from $2450 to $3090. The 9mm versions have a 19-round capacity, with one fewer round fitting into the .40s. Kansas Highway Patrol has approved the Steiner MPS (Micro Pistol Sight) for duty use. The Kansas Highway Patrol is a law enforcement agency that is responsible for enforcing traffic laws, investigating accidents, and providing assistance to the public within the state of Kansas. The Steiner MPS can be seen here in various pictures. It has a daylight bright dot with 13,000 hours of battery life and mounts on a variety of firearms using the ACRO footprint. It’s not known what the Kansas Highway Patrol is paying for their MPS sights, but if you want to pick one up, the MSRP is $574.99.

Starting April 2023, Anderson Manufacturing will release Special Edition Builder Sets that consist of an Anderson lower, upper and handguard with a custom Cerakote finish. Each month they will collect pre-orders for a one-of-a-kind pattern, which will be released the following month. Cerakote is a ceramic-based coating that is applied to various surfaces, including metals like here. Over the years the process has become increasingly popular due to its durability and resistance to wear, corrosion, impact, and chemicals. In this case, the coating will be made by Grit City Cerakote.

Dave Lauck of D&L Sports is now offering heavy duty sights for Colt Python and Anaconda revolvers, much like what he’s already provided for Smith & Wesson revolvers that we covered earlier on TFB. The new Colt revolver heavy duty sights are fixed, and feature a U notch in the rear sight. The heavy duty sights from D&L Sports can also be custom ordered to include tritium inserts.

Reptilia Corp‘s bread and butter has long been optics mounts, although they do offer a menu of other products as well, including weaponlight bodies, AR-15 grips/stocks, and more. While many of their optics mounts focus on affixing backup/CQB red dots to riflescopes, the latest model delves into the world of combat shotgunning. Beretta’s 1301 has become the first word in tactical scatterguns, and the A300 model is popular as well. More shooters than ever are opting to add red dots on their shotguns, and Reptilia aims to help. The GLOCK 28, a GLOCK 26 sized pistol chambered in .380 Auto, has always been a unicorn sighting event here in the United States. Designed around some countries restrictions of the chambering in civilian guns in historically military calibers, the G28 pistol in the U.S. has been available only to law enforcement – until now. TALO Distributors has just announced the GLOCK 28, made in Smyrna, Georgia, and available to the commercial market. This is a limited release of a unique GLOCK pistol. Details below.

The Warner & Swasey name returns to the world of firearm optics with the RDSMicro MOA3 red dot sight. It features a proprietary 1.54″ mount, as well as integral backup iron sights on top of the optic. The RDSMicro MOA3 is exclusivley sold by Geissele.

Back in 1963, the British Army adopted the M2 Carl Gustaf 84mm recoilless rifle. It served with various units right through into the 1990s when it was replaced by lighter, single-use munitions. The British Army replaced the M2 with the LAW 80 which has since been surpassed by the NLAW. Yesterday, it was announced that the British Army would once again be procuring the Carl Gustaf, this time the much improved M4 variant.

German optics company Hensoldt have announced they are building a new factory at Oberkochen in southern Germany. Hensoldt plan for the new plant to be self sustaining with power provided by the company’s own renewable sources. The Company hope to move into their new location by 2025. They already have a facility in Oberkochen as well as in nearby Aalen and the new facility will expand the  HENSOLDT Optronics Campus.

Japanese Precision and German Engineering – the HOWA HERA H7 rifle is a combination of hunting and precision rifle. It is available in 6.5 Creedmoor and .308 Winchester with three barrel lengths, 22″ Standard, 24″ Heavy, and 24″ Carbon Fiber, all of which are threaded. The stock system is constructed of fiberglass-reinforced polymer, an aluminum V-block, and an aluminum forestock. The stock features spacer-adjustable LOP, polymer cheekpiece and M-LOK attachment points. The rifle comes with 2-5 round detachable AICS-compatible magazines and is available in Tan, OD Green, or Black color options. The price starts from $839, and they’re available from Legacy Sports International in the USA.

The AR-15 is popular for so many reasons. One of the big ones is ergonomics. The AR pistol grip has become so popular, that even precision rifle manufacturers are making them standard on their guns. One particular firearm has had some mixed reviews about its grip, and now, it’s getting the Strike Industries treatment. If you own a CZ Scorpion EVO and don’t like the grip, you’re in luck. Strike Industries has released its new AR Pistol Grip Adapter for the CZ Scorpion.

If you’re still carrying around a stock SIG Sauer P365 with 10-round magazines and are looking for a little bit of extra capacity, XTech Tactical has just announced the introduction of their new MTX 365 Magazine Extension for SIG’s factory 10-round P365 magazines. These mag extensions add an additional 3 rounds of capacity and also extend the grip length for a more comfortable shooting grip.

As much stuff as we cover during SHOT Show, we somehow always manage to miss something cool that was launched at the show. One thing I just found out about is the new Samson Manufacturing AK-47 RSR2 or Rear Sight Rail. This all-steel mounting solution for the Aimpoint T-1 and T2 red dot sights is a simple direct mount option that allows the user to replace their AK-47 rear sight with an RDS compatible direct mount which also features a co-witness notch so that the front sight post can still be used in case the red dot fails or is off.

M81 Woodland camouflage is almost universally loved by most people within the firearms industry and for good reason – the camouflage was used extensively for over 30 years and used to be the easiest type of surplus camouflage you could get from stores. So for those of you who still rock those M81 Woodland BDUs when you’re training, Safariland has just announced the addition of their new exclusive M81 Woodland Camo holster available for most of today’s modern compact and full-size handguns.

Long story short, there really isn’t a gold standard for measuring how suppressors perform, but there are some very common practices done by most suppressor manufacturers that Evan and Austin will share with us today. Previously on TFB, we’ve covered several of Grey Man Tactical’s Vehicle RMP systems. The Rigid MOLLE Panels are a convenient way to add storage space to surfaces that normally wouldn’t be able to accept heavier gear and also serve as a handy organizing tool for containers and vehicles. Grey Man Tactical is excited to announce the latest addition to the RMP lineup with the introduction of their new Vehicle Rifle Rack featuring new slots for the attachment of weapon clamps using simple nuts and bolts which reduces the overall cost of the system.

TV and film guns are always going to be popular collector’s items and while some of them are often creations directly from the bench of a deranged gunsmith, some prop movie guns are meant to be literal representations of real-world firearms. In this particular example on Gunbroker, we see an H&K MR556A1 SBR that is intended to resemble an HK416D that was used by the US Navy Seals during the raid on Bin Landen’s compound back in 2011. This firearm was converted for use with blanks by Point Blank Props’ for use during the filming of the movie Zero Dark Thirty, a Hollywood thriller based on the events surrounding the hunt for Osama Bin Laden. What’s cool about this particular collector’s item is that instead of its movie-ready black firing adapter configuration, this particular prop gun has been restored to work with live ammunition.

MDT has released a Training Shot Timer for shooters of all skill levels. The timer can be used with a wide range of rifles and calibers, as well as for your dry fire practice. The device stores all shooting data and links with an accompanying app, allowing users to film video with real-time statistics and share it on social media. At the recent IWA exhibition in Germany, I had a demo of how it can be used. I’m not usually impressed with timers, but as a competitor and instructor, I noticed a lot of features that could be used not only by myself but also to instruct others to become better.

Ruger has knocked it out of the park lately with their re-releases of classic lever-action rifles. Today they announced the reintroduction of the Marlin Model 336 Classic in .30-30 Win. With a satin blue finish, black walnut stock, and 20” barrel, this lever-action rifle is as classic as it gets. Additional details can be found below.

About two weeks ago at IWA 2023, CZ came to the show with a brand new firearm perfect for not just the European market, but one that I think would do quite well in the American market! The new CZ Scorpion EVO 3 S1 is chambered in 22LR and will come complete with a folding stock, 16″ threaded barrel, and mostly ambidextrous controls.

European American Amory Corporation is now offering the Girsan MC 14 T. With its “Tip-Up” design there is no slide racking required to load and fire the gun. Offered in .380 ACP with a capacity of 13+1, it’s claimed to be the ideal concealed carry handgun, especially for those who may have difficulty using a regular pistol. The MC 14 T has an external safety, external hammer and auto firing pin block. The MSRP is $498, with an all-steel 4.5″ barrel and slide and ambidextrous safety.

The successful launch of the Extar USA EP9 was simultaneously met with a demand for a .45 ACP version of the large-format pistol. Extar USA has listened to its customers and is happy to announce the release of the new EP45 featuring a similar recoil system to the one found in the EP9. Extar USA is also heavily emphasizing that their new EP45 will run hollow point ammunition, which has often been a struggle for other firearms chambered in .45 ACP.

Beretta continues to expand their APX line of pistols with the A1 Tactical Full Size. This new model adds tactical features like a threaded barrel, extended magazine, and suppressor-height sights. An olive drab frame is also standard.

The Finnish and Swedish Defense Forces will purchase a range of various rifles from Sako Ltd. TFB reported about this almost two years ago, but it’s now official what the framework and the firearms will look like.
