After Yeti Works and B&T were showing off a fascinating way to load dual-stack magazines from ammunition boxes, ETS Group, makers of various fine translucent magazines has stepped up the ante a bit with their C.A.M. loading system.

Glock isn’t done yet: Despite being passed over by the Army and having their protest of the MHS contract rejected by the GAO, Glock is still hoping for a chance. In a recent interview with Matthew Cox of Military.com, Glock Vice President Josh Dorsey spoke out against the Army’s decision to adopt the SIG Sauer P320 as the new M17 Modular Handgun System. Dorsey’s comments, excerpted below, express dissatisfaction with the Army’s selection process:

Since the Government Accountability Office’s decision to reject Glock’s protest of the Modular Handgun System contract award to SIG Sauer, the GAO has released a statement. The 17 page document outlines not only the reason for the GAO’s decision, but provides insight as to the deciding factors in the MHS contract award as well. Chiefly, the document reveals that SIG substantially underbid Glock, and that this – and not any technical difference between the competitors’ pistols – was the deciding factor in the contract award:

As we all know the competition between Glock and SIG for the military contract has created a great deal of coverage in recent months. While it may seem the story is over with the award given to SIG there is another side of this story that has not been addressed. I’ve obtained a good deal of information in the past week which will be published later this week. We have a brief overview of Glock’s protest here.

There are a few things that I look forward to every year as cyclical product releases. While there is the usual plethora of products prior to SHOT and NRA and the various companies looking to capitalize on the shows’ exposure, few look to the other times of the year for their product releases. One of my two favorites is 5.11 who shows their sense of humor every year by having the tactical kilts available for April Fool’s Day purchases and the second being the unabashed patriotism of Apex Tactical Specialties and their Freedom Edition Triggers. 

One of the best parts about working in the gun business is having friends in notable companies across the country. So when my friend Benjamin asked if I had any friends at Glock USA, I was able to reply that yes, I do.

Back to the show. Apparently the Smyrna, GA team has realized how popular the Rough Textured Finish #2 (RTF2) and the curved slide serrations were with collectors. In what looks to be an upcoming release, Davidson’s is listing several pistol versions with the RTF2 and scalloped cuts.

At this point, the upper management at Glock is just messing with all of us. Like a magic fairy sprinkling pixie dust across America, Glock 19M and 17M pistols have been appearing at greater frequencies. However, without a commercial release date commitment, I guess us Polymer lovers have nothing else to do but fawn over the newest pictures.

TANDEMKROSS or [TK] has announced and released its latest products for the Glock. Primarily known for their .22LR rimfire upgrades the new products from [TK] come has a surprise, especially considering their function. Where [TK] normally offers compensators and misc accessories, the new products are race-gun oriented. Specifically, the two new products are the “Halo” charging ring and the “Accelerator” thumb ledge.

Over the last few months, InRange TV has found a successful niche of testing various firearms under their internal “Mud Test” for various classic and modern firearms. While not perfectly representative of the various military standards (their mud is “goopier”), the tests are the normal InRange combination of entertainment and learning.
