No, the Glock Protest is NOT likely to Derail Sig's Win

I’ve rather enjoyed the hub-ub over the recent protest filed by Glock on the XM-17 Modular Handgun System award to Sig Sauer. The community is all abuzz with rumors and speculation, mostly centering on how Glock would not likely have a manual safety (they do for the submission) and how the MHS is the “only” modular system (it was not, two pins on a Glock and out pops the fire control group).

Strike Industries' New G4 Slidecomp For Gen 4 Glocks

Strike Industries is at it again with their new G4 Slidecomp  Glock compensator that requires nothing other than you owning a 9mm Gen 4 gun. That’s right, no threaded barrel, no expensive porting, just a stock Gen 4 Glock in 9mm. So why is this exciting? Well, if you haven’t shot a comped gun, there isn’t much that is quite like it in terms of getting the gun back on target quickly.

OPINION: Brass To Face Is NOT A Malfunction

Like it or not, Brass To Face or BTF malfunctions are not a thing. Sure, it is an annoying thing to happen when you are at the range but it is far from a malfunction. I am not going to dive into the reason for the brass to be ejected towards the face, there are tons of videos and posts all over the internet that dive into this so-called malfunction.

Primary Machine Launches New Glock Stealth Comp

Primary Machine has dropped some new Glock compensators that look eerily like the KKM Two Port compensator (I currently have one in for evaluation, review coming soon). This isn’t the first Glock comp to be launched that is reminiscent of the proven KKM style, Texas Black Rifle Company was the first offshoot with the Micro Comp. Scoff at the addition of an external compensator if you like, but there are benefits like keeping the lens of a flashlight clean or reducing recoil. I know for a fact that a good comp can tame a 9mm to where it feels like you are shooting a .22 making follow up shots lightning fast.

Raven Concealment Freya Glock Magwell: Building A Roland Special Part 1

There is a pistol concept floating around some circles (primarily among members of Primary & Secondary) that has been lovingly dubbed the Roland Special. Basically, the Roland Special is a highly modified Glock 19 that mimics race gun performance in a size that is still manageable for duty or even concealed carry use.

New Tharros Industries Halo 1 Slide – Master Chief Would be Proud

I’ve waxed nostalgic and written many words on the rise of Glock as the predominant user-customizable handgun platform. Despite not having the backing of the US Military, the Glock’s design, popularity and seriously low parts count, and expired patents have made it the premier handgun for user customization. Entire companies have sprung forth based on it ranging from lauded Lone Wolf Distributors to the extreme high-end Agency Arms.

A Rebuttal to John Farnam on Aftermarket Glock Barrels

Recently, I ran across a fantastic article from training John Farnam on his perspective on the use of aftermarket drop-in barrels on Glock handguns ( can be found here). In general, I agree with much of what he has said, but I think its a little too much blanket advice with not enough information.

Review: Bravo Concealment OWB Kydex Holster Combo

Bravo Concealment reached out to Phil at the start of December to see if we wanted to put one of their Kydex outside the waistband holsters to the test. As the Senior Breaker-Of-Things, I was elected as the most likely to break or damage the holster during what I consider “normal” use and was sent one of Bravo Concealment’s BCA holster combos. Thankfully Bravo allowed me to configure the holster as I wanted to match my Glock …. or what it is on a journey to becoming.
