Best Millimeter

10mm is the very best handgun cartridge ever made. There. I said it. If you’ve been following my series of ballistic gel tests on the TFB YouTube channel, TFB TV, you’ve noticed I try to work in some 10mm as often as I can. And I’ve done dozens of 10mm gel tests for my own YouTube channel. My infatuation for the cartridge is no secret. It isn’t just puppy love, though. 10mm really is seriously awesome, but not for the reasons that many people like it.

M17 MHS 1/10th as Reliable as M9, Beretta Claims

The legacy M9 handgun is ten times as reliable as the standard required for the M17 MHS handgun, claims manufacturer Beretta Defense in a recent press release. During acceptance testing of the most recent delivery lot of M9 handguns, the guns averaged a malfunction rate of one per 19,090 rounds – nearly ten times the mean rounds between stoppages required of the new M17 MHS. Naturally, the manufacturer was extremely proud (rightly so) of this result, saying the following in their press release:

Medieval Meat Hammer Glock Base Plate

Remember our Top 5 Dumb Gun Products video from a few months back? Well here’s a worthy candidate for that list. Just kidding, I bet these things have an actual real world application other than tenderizing meat for chicken fried steak or something. The Meat Hammer from Medieval Spinners, as in fidget spinners those things all the kids are playing with these days, replaces the factory Glock magazine base plates. According to Medieval Spinners they’re “spiked for a non-lethal deterrent”.

What Sets Glocks Apart – Is Your Gun REALLY Safe?

The recent controversy regarding the drop safety characteristics of SIG’s P320 handgun has some taking a closer look at their handguns. Drop safety is something that – in theory – is so mature in modern handguns that it should be a non-issue, but with so many different variations on the same theme ( that theme being “Glock”) in the market today, how do we know these guns are really as safe as they could be? With that in mind, it’s worth taking a closer look at what makes a modern striker-fired handgun drop safe, and that’s just what Tom Jones of Pistol-Training.com has given us in a recent forum post. Jones lays out what makes a Glock a “Glock”, in other words, the carefully designed safety features of the company’s handguns which make them as difficult to accidentally discharge as possible:

POTD: Yin Yang – GLOCK Gen2 And Gen5

Ok, do not hold this against me, but the first defensive pistol I owned was a Smith & Wesson Sigma chambered in .40S&W. What can I say, I was young, vulnerable and wandering around a gun show. Luckily, Chris from Hansohn Brothers had just picked up a brand new Gen 5 G19 to replace his well worn Gen2.
