TFB Review: Franklin Armory BFSIII Trigger for B&T APC45

Installation of the B&T APC45 trigger would have been a real pain in the rear had it not been for the detailed instructions provided by TFB’s editor Pete in his review off the same trigger for the APC9.  Not only are the instructions hard to follow, there are errors in the diagrams!  Specifically the diagram mixes up the trigger and hammer pins.  For a layman attempting to install this at home, this could result in the wrong length pin supporting each assembly.  Not good.  Furthermore, I discovered that someone at Franklin installed the selector switches on the wrong side of the selector drum at the factory (leading to some confusion until I figured out their error).  Nevertheless, after 1/2 an hour of muddling through the installation I was successful in the install.

TFB REVIEW: B&T APC45-Swiss Subgun Precision

Pistol caliber (especially .45 caliber)  submachineguns are a lot of fun to shoot.  I personally have experience with the Thompson, M3/A1, MAC-10, the KRISS (Originally TDI) Super-V and the H&K UMP45.  While I have always been intrigued in the H&K UMP45, the ones I saw come up for sale from time to time were far overpriced for the condition that they were in.  I also was not at all interested in the USC conversions, as those remain a headache to complete, and very expensive to purchase as a finished job. I did remain on the lookout for faulty SMG’s chambered in .45, however.  A few years ago, B&T released an outstanding option for a .45 caliber SMG: the B&T APC45.

GHM9 Update Adds Hollow Points to the Menu

Many shooters are aware that the B&T GHM9 was initially not feeding hollow points – as designed, it met the EU need of using strictly FMJ. However, B&T listened to the American market and user requests to resolve the issue have been met with a new update. The ability to feed hollow-points was particularly important to me: I purchased a GHM9 for my wife to use as a home defense platform. To deliver the proper ballistics and kinetic energy on target hollow points were a necessity.
