The kits will allow the end users to swap out their barrel and handguard for multiple configurations including extended barrel and handguard, or ported barrel with integral suppressor.

We all have our “Grail Guns” – firearms that we have lusted and yearned after for years but may not have the means to obtain. Given the opportunity, and resources, we’d jump at the chance to own that one gun that might as well be in a museum and unavailable to the masses. At the top of my list is the B&T VP9 pistol and suppressor kit. But because the VP9 is so rare, shows like SHOT are the only place you can actually handle them. Davidson’s, one of the US’ largest firearms distributors, has announced a partnership with B&T USA for the distribution of B&T’s sought after products. B&T USA recently won the contract to provide the US Army’s new Sub Compact Weapon.

I’ll clarify right off the bat: Tar Heel State Firearms (THSF) actually has five of the unique B&T APC40 pistol caliber carbines, but three of them were already spoken for at the time of this writing. I spoke with Scott at THSF earlier this week, hoping that the batch included an APC40SD model (don’t judge, I have my reasons). For the collectors out there, the number of 40S&W in existence has to be low. So if are interested, you might want to give Scott a call. Unfortunately, a lot of the firearms we show as Picture Of The Day are unobtainable for a variety of reasons, so it’s always satisfying to find great pictures and be able to say to yourself “I own that“.

Let’s talk about the new B&T APC9 Pro. If you aren’t familiar with this pistol caliber carbine, then I have to go ahead and question your knowledge and support of firearms and the second amendment all together. Joking aside, these are some of the best sub-machine guns available. Not to worry, they make semi-auto versions as well. The new Pro series from B&T has some interesting new features that I think you will appreciate.

The Sheriff’s Department of Lake County, Indiana has selected the compact MP9 submachine gun form B&T, presumably for issuing to their Tactical Unit (S.W.A.T). The Lake County Sheriff’s Department has an 18 strong tactical unit who are “available to assist local, state and federal agencies throughout the Northwest Indiana area.” Lake County is Indiana’s second largest county and includes the cities of Hammond and Gary.

It’s just under a year since the US Army announced its search for a new submachine gun with the Sub Compact Weapon programme. Today, it has been announced that the submission from B&T USA, the US arm of the Swiss small arms specialists B&T AG, has been selected by the US Army. Beating stiff competition from five other companies, a variant of the B&T APC9 K has been adopted with an initial order for 350 guns confirmed. While the news may have dropped on 1 April, it is certainly not an April Fools joke.

Not all product or press releases get the attention they deserve, not initially anyway. Try launching a product at, for instance SHOT Show, and it will easily drown in the constant flow of wonderful – and not so – products.

The French Police is using the B&T Swiss-made GL06 launcher in 40mm caliber, which they re-named LBD40.

Back in March 2018, Eric broke the news that B&T were finally set to offer a 7.62x51mm APC, the APC308. The rifle was unveiled at the 2018 Enforce TAC show but no details on when it might arrive in the US were given. It now appears that B&T USA are preparing to bring the APC308 to the US, releasing a press release earlier this week.
