Military Armament Corporation Introduces MAC 1911-9 DS

The Military Armament Corporation of today, or MAC, is a Knoxville, TN-based operation currently offering a selection of shotguns, handguns, and two models of MP5 clones, as well as a handful of other related products. This is differentiated from the same-named 1970s manufacturer of MAC-10 and MAC-11 machine pistols, which has been defunct since 1975. Current-day MAC came out with a 1911 model called the JSOC 45 last year, a full-size tribute to 1911s carried by warfighters during operations such as Just Cause, Gothic Serpent, Urgent Fury, and more. Now they’ve announced a second 1911 variant joining their product lineup. Check out the details on the 9mm MAC 1911-9 DS in the press release copied below.

SIG SAUER Announces P226 40th Anniversary Celebration

SIG SAUER has produced a number of notable handguns over the years, and among their most iconic is the P226. It was originally designed as SIG’s entrant into the US military’s XM9 Service Pistol Trials in 1984, as the Pentagon sought an updated 9mm replacement for the M1911. SIG’s offering emerged at the top of the testing gamut neck-and-neck with Beretta’s 92, which was eventually adopted as the DoD’s new M9 chiefly due to cost factors. Despite finishing as runner-up, the SIG’s quality and performance did not go unnoticed. Dozens of specialized military units (most notably the US Navy SEALs) and law enforcement agencies across the US and abroad have employed variants of the hammer-fired workhorse for the last four decades, with great success. Now SIG have announced a yearlong 40th birthday celebration in store across 2024 for their famous handgun.

TFB Review: Mean Arms 9mm Bearing Delay Blowback Upper Receiver

Mean Arms 9mm bearing delay upper receiver represents a significant step forward in firearms technology.  Building on the lessons learned from existing roller-delayed firearms, Mean Arms developed a new tunable bearing delay system. After getting to put some rounds through this system at this year’s SHOT Show’s Industry Day at the Range I was overly curious how reliable this new system could be. With the help of both Mean Arms and Lake Martin Machine Gun, I put 1,000 rounds through this upper, and here’s what I found.

TFB PSA: Don't Deck the Halls With Your Balls This Christmas

I’m sure a lot of you have probably seen the video that has been circulating around social media and forums of some allegedly unfortunate fellow who accidentally gave himself a free vasectomy. The video of the accident is also accompanied by what looks to be discharge papers for the patient listing out the details of the entry and exit wound. While it’s entirely plausible that this video and the supporting document are falsified, I also wouldn’t put it out of the realm of possibility that this guy was simply being wildly irresponsible with his firearm for internet points, and wound up getting a 9mm screening of the Nutcracker. After all, it’s happened several times in the past and this incident seems to follow all the same patterns that the other accidents did. For those of you who can’t watch the video, we’ll go over it in more detail below. Obviously, you shouldn’t do anything like this with your own guns, that goes without saying, but just in case you’re fuzzy on the topic, Don’t point any type of firearm at your groin for internet clout.
