Christensen Arms has expanded their Modern Sporting Rifles line of firearms with the addition of CA9MM, the first pistol caliber gun in this product family. The CA9MM is a direct blowback firearm chambered in 9x19mm and yes, fed from Glock mags. It is available both as a pistol and PCC/rifle depending on the barrel length. Let’s take a look at the main features of new Christensen Arms CA9MM pistols and carbines.

The CMMG Banshee/Resolute line of PCCs is one of the more impressive systems that has come out lately.  Instead of being straight blowback, it is a radial delayed blowback system. This enables the Banshee to be able to withstand higher pressure cartridges like 10mm Auto, and have softer felt recoil and less gas to the face than a conventional blowback firearm would.  Previously compatible with Glock, Colt SMG, and FN Five-seveN magazines, the Banshee/Resolute line has a new series compatible with SIG P320 magazines: The Mk17.

The Ruger PC Carbine seems to be a very popular gun with a lot of aftermarket support. Well, a new company called Jawbone just debuted a product that helps improve one of the major flaws of the Ruger PC Carbine. That one major flaw is the location of the mag release, it’s in a very inconvenient spot. James even points this out in his video  8 Reasons Why I Wanted to Hate the Ruger PC Carbine (and the 8 Reasons I Don’t) from a few months back.

Speer Ammunition needs no introduction. This Idaho-based bullet farm has been putting out quality rounds for decades. Their Lawman and Gold Dot lines have become practically synonymous with duty/carry ammo, standing shoulder-to-shoulder with any other top ammo name in the business and trusted by more than 3000 law enforcement agencies around the globe. With a July 21st press release, they have announced the addition of one more agency: the Department of Homeland Security’s Customs and Border Protection. The release reads:

After a bit of waiting, the Shadow Systems MultiRole (MR) 920 handgun was shipped to me. Being a hit at SHOT Show 2020 they have seen a huge increase in demand. No surprise from me as I am a true believer in their MR918, it is still my EDC. As I said in my earlier review, Shadow Systems pistols are the real deal (read it here).  When I spoke with their general manager back in January he told me about their upgrades in the new model. I took away from the conversation the concern of them fixing something that was not broken. Why change the MR918? There is NOTHING wrong with it. Well, I have had the MR920 for over a month, let me tell you I could not be happier!

Kalashnikov Concern has just published a press release announcing that a new modernized version of the 9mm Vityaz SMG has successfully passed the government trials. The new iteration of the submachine gun is called PPK-20. The trials were held within the R&D program called “Vityaz-MO” (Витязь-МО). As a result of the trials, the PPK-20 was approved as suitable for mass production.

Walther Arms was founded in Germany in 1886. Since then, they have primarily produced handguns and today their lineup includes the PPQ or PolizeiPistole Quick Defence. Available since 2011, the PPQ comes in several variants and calibers including 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP. The M2 version is characterized by a left- or right-hand reversible magazine thumb release at the bottom of the trigger guard, versus the standard ambidextrous mag release levers incorporated into the trigger guard of the standard PPQ. As of June 2020, Walther has announced that this model chambered in 9mm will be adopted as standard issue for the Brevard County, Florida Sheriff’s office – shortly following the same selection by York County, Pennsylvania. Several months ago,  Wilson Combat announced the WCP320 9mm pistol which was the first pistol designed in collaboration with SIG Sauer and represents an enhanced P320 upgraded with Wilson Combat’s signature parts and design improvement elements. Yesterday, the company published a press release introducing the second WC/SIG pistol called WCP320 Carry.

During January’s pre-SHOT Show frenzy, TFB reported on several new ammo options that would be coming out over the course of 2020. At SHOT, TFBTV went a little more in depth with Speer about their new additions. Now in a June 18th press release, Idaho-based ammo manufacturer Speer has announced that their Gold Dot G2 Carry Gun ammunition, specifically optimized for compact handguns, is heading to market. The Springfield Armory Hellcat in 9mm has been one of, if not the most, popular carry guns since it was debuted last September 25th as the world’s highest capacity micro-compact on the market. The 1st iteration released to the public was a Black Melonite version which is not surprising because the matte black aesthetic of a carry pistol blends in well in nearly all environments. Now Springfield has dipped their Hellcat in a NEW Cerakote Desert FDE (Flat Dark Earth) finish for all of us to enjoy. Those two new options can be read below:
