Ok, so there are more than just five items on my list; I couldn’t decide which of the SIG Sauer ammunition should take the top five slots. But since SIG has been nice enough to supply me with ammo for decibel testing for TFB’s Silencer Saturday, I thought it would be a good idea to return the favor and outline some of their best rounds (and give you a direct link to buy your own). Yes, my list is heavy on the 9mm and 300BLK flavors of ammunition, but if a different cartridge tickles your fancy, chances are that SIG has you covered with multiple bullet weights and types to choose from.

Soldier Systems reported that FK BRNO has developed a polymer framed, multi-caliber version of their Field Pistol, which they unveiled at the IWA 2019 show in Germany. The standard 7.5mmFK model has a steel frame, but TFB’s Rusty reported during SHOT 2019, the company wanted to reduce weight and cost by offering a polymer version. With that new development, comes the ability to switch between 7.5FK, 9mm and 10mm calibers. FK BRNO’s new version is called the PSD Pistol.

Strike Industries has released the 9mm version of their King Comp. This new muzzle device is called Mini King Comp 9mm and as the company describes, it “brings the proven performance of the full-size King Comp in a more compact, lighter package designed exclusively for 9mm carbines“.

The new Kimber Micro 9 ESV is one of the latest additions to Kimber’s Micro 9 line of pistols. Like other Micro 9’s, the ESV has a steel slide and aluminum frame, and is an upscaled version of their Micro chambered in .380. The unique features of the ESV are:

Yeah, I just combined those headings. It’s the wild west out here. OpsGear is apparently liquidating their warehouse inventory, which means tons of goodies for you. So what is on sale? All kinds of gear and gadgets and clothing. There’s a Condor Gunner Plate Carrier in Multicam being sold for $72 or just under 40% off. There are Danner Striker Boots in men’s size 10.5 being sold for $112.50 or just under $90 off. There’s a whole mess of Blackhawk gear and even some 5.11 stuff that’s almost all 40% off or better (I’ve seen up to 90% off).

The talk of SHOT Show, and leading up to it, has been the NEW Mossberg MC1 sc 9mm perfectly suited for concealed carry. This is the 1st handgun that Mossberg has produced in 100 years. So aside from the fact that the MC1 sc 9mm is a solid carry option it has been forever since you heard “Mossberg” and “handgun” in the same sentence.

This week’s deals include the Ruger LCR-X, the Testudo plate carrier and plates, Federal Guard Dog 9mm, a whole mess of S&W magazines, and more ammunition than you can shake a stick at.

Ballistic Advantage is closing out one of their products, a stainless steel AR-15 barrel for 5.56. It is a pistol-length barrel at only 7.5″, and has a QPQ corrosion resistant finish. The barrel’s twist is 1:7, and it does have a threaded muzzle. This barrel’s 416R stainless steel means it will foul less and be easier to clean than a comparable 4150 Chrome Moly barrel, as well as being superior for competition shooting due to its increased accuracy for short groups of shots.

Fort Scott Munitions is a manufacturer of bullets and complete loaded cartridges, specializing in solid copper spun (SCS) bullets designed to tumble upon impact, hence the acronyms TUI and SCS applying to their projectiles.  They’ve sought to make a bullet that couples a lot of penetration with the trait of tumbling upon impact with soft tissue.  Their bullets are also engineered to retain over 95% of mass after impact.

Italian handgun company Tanfoglio had their 9x19mm TCMP submachine gun with them at the Tanfoglio booth during Indo Defense 2018. We reported on the TCMP in 2016 when the company was showing the TCMP at the IWA Show, but since then TFB hasn’t heard too much about the design since then. At Indo Defense we were able to talk through the submachine with the president of the company, Massimo Tanfoglio.

Deals of the Week number 3, 9mm edition.

In a surprising move, Honor Defense is now offering a line of frangible hollow-point (HP) ammunition to the public. Their immediate flavors are your usual suspects for modern carry calibers. Where a lot of gun manufacturers are now offering ammo, but produced by an outside party, it appears they may actually be making this in-house. Nemo Arms, or its expanded name of New Evolution Military Ordnance, is known for their high-end and uniquely chambered AR-15 rifles and tactical bolt-action firearms. Something they have never dabbled in before is handguns until now. They quietly announced on their website recently a NEW pistol dubbed the Monark. Following along the similar lines of being edgy, futuristic and a lot of precise machining, this pistol looks somehow familiar, but unlike anything we have ever seen before.

During the Arms & Hunting 2018 exhibition, a Russian company called Kurbatov Arms introduced a new 9mm pistol caliber carbine called R-701. This PCC is a completely new design and has some cool features. Let’s take a closer look.
