SIG SAUER is one of the biggest names in the world of gun brands. They’ve produced more than a few massively popular firearm models in their nearly half-century history. The recent transition from their German roots to a new US-based operational structure, with SIG Germany having shut down just over a year ago, appears to have done nothing to slow them down. Today the company offers an array of products to include pistols, rifles, optics, suppressors, ammo, and a cavalcade of other parts and accessories. Now their rifle-caliber pistol family has grown by one, with the announcement of the new Switchblade model.

Holosun came on the scene in 2013 with the intent to bring some new product options into the optics and laser/infrared market. Over the course of the last eight years, they have advanced their operations substantially and committed to seek significant improvements in their offerings. As a result of this dedication and growth, today they produce and sell a number of popular optics models, primarily in the red dot/reflex sight space. Their efforts were enough for industry titan Trijicon to take note, as a patent infringement lawsuit between the two optics companies was filed and subsequently settled out of court last year.

Texas-based Radical Firearms has grown over the years, from a hobby to a small retail store to a full-scope Title II NFA Gun Manufacturer. From their humble beginnings handling FFL transfers and assembling a small number of ARs, they now operate a full suite of CNC machines and other manufacturing equipment which allows them to produce all major firearms components in-house except for barrels, BCGs, stocks, and a few small parts like springs and pins. They source these remaining items from trusted partners specializing in those parts. Now Radical is introducing a new product: the Sinter suppressor.

Company collaborations, just like a song with Timbaland, can lead to some pretty great products. Aside from the people with no respect for safety who shoot blindly at dark shapes in their homes, we all understand the need for a flashlight. Different applications change what kind of light you need. Sometimes a handheld is the way to go, and sometimes you want your light attached to your gun. Are you clearing rooms or carrying it on your concealed pistol? For the latter two scenarios, Blackhawk has collaborated with Streamlight to bring you two lights for use with your Blackhawk holsters. These are the Blackhawk Streamlight TR-7A Flex and TLR1-HL.

One of the main focuses of Nevada-based Franklin Armory is creativity. One particularly creative product series with which they have made waves, their Binary Triggers, has been previously released for ARs, AKs, 10/22s, MP5 clones, and more. These triggers are unusual in that they not only fire when pulled, like a normal semi-automatic fire control system, but in their third firing position, they also fire another round upon trigger release. This assists in rapid firing but manages not to change the legal semi-auto classification, as would normally be the case with a three-position fire control group. Walther Arms is primarily known for making handguns. This German manufacturer produces a variety of semi-automatic pistols suitable for a range of purposes. Their modern lineup includes models optimized for competition, concealed carry, duty use, and more. Even James Bond is a fan, with the iconic PPK serving as 007’s primary sidearm throughout a great deal of his time on the silver screen and in the pages of many Bond novels. The company recently began offering high-end custom shop versions of some of their pistols, upgraded under their “Meister Manufaktur” program. In addition to guns, this fine gunmaker offers a smattering of accompanying gear items as well. To compliment their EDC-intended handguns, they’ve just announced a new ankle medical kit.

Culper Precision recently introduced their Block19 customization option for the third and fourth generation Glock 19 pistols. The Block19 customization is designed to resemble a gun made of Lego bricks, but of course, be fully functional at the same time. Aside from resembling a Lego gun, Culper Precision machines the slide to actually accept Lego (or aftermarket bricks), and comes with a kit of bricks and superglue to fashion a makeshift red dot and iron plastic sights. FAB Defense is an Israeli-based company offering a variety of firearms accessories. Their product lines include buttstocks, grips, handgun PDW conversion kits, rails and rail attachments, magazines, and more. Swampfox Optics makes a wide variety of budget-friendly firearms aiming solutions. Their current product lines include both rifle- and pistol-intended red dots, LPVOs, long-range precision riflescopes, two prism scopes, and numerous complementary parts and accessories like scope rings, throw levers, and more. Compared with its younger competitors like the P320 series, SIG SAUER‘s P229 handgun is something of an elder statesman. It evolved from the P226, which SIG designed in the early 1980s as their entry into the US Army’s XM9 Service Pistol Trials, under the Joint Service Small Arms Program, in an effort to replace the 1911 as the DoD’s issued sidearm. Although Beretta ultimately got the XM9 competition nod with their 92FS design, which became the M9, SIG’s P226 did gain success and adoption by a variety of worldwide military and law enforcement groups after the fact. This led to the development of a compact variant a few years later, the P228, which was subsequently upgraded in a few key areas and re-introduced in 1992 as the improved P229.

Phoenix-based manufacturer KE Arms makes a variety of firearms-related products, from small parts up to complete firearms. Their most recent claim to fame has been the release of their new KP-15 monolithic polymer AR lower. This receiver was intended to be significantly more durable than other manufacturers’ prior attempts at polymer AR receivers, as durability has been a widely-reported issue or concern for some shooters with non-metallic ARs in the past. Slimline 9mm pistols have been all the rage over the last few years. One of the first to the market, however, was Kahr Arms. Regardless of when you enter the game, you need to evolve to survive. Although SIG SAUER is best known for their firearms manufacturing, that’s certainly not all they do. They also make optics, suppressors, ammo, airguns, and plenty of other firearms-related parts and gear. In recent years, Star Wars fans have begun to ditch their dreams of building a Mauser C96 based replica of Han Solo’s DL-44 blaster due to soaring costs, and have a new hope in the much more affordable AR-15 DL-44 clones. If you’re a DIY type in the firearms space, odds are strong that you’re already familiar with Real Avid. These Minnesota-based toolsmiths have been putting out helpful gun cleaning and gunsmithing products for years. Their offerings are relied upon by a vast number of firearms tinkerers, of both the professional and home-based amateur varieties. Now there are yet more of these tools you may want to consider adding to your workbench. Real Avid has just announced a new line of torque wrench kits, dubbed the MASTER-FIT series.

There are two main reasons to have a spare magazine when you’re carrying a firearm. The first is obviously more ammunition. The second is in case of malfunctions. Regardless of why you carry a spare magazine, it can be a hassle. We already have so much crap to carry on a daily basis that I see more and more people opting for smaller and more convenient systems. About as minimal as you can get, Strike Industries has released a clip that integrated specifically with their EMP. This is the Strike EMP Pocket Clip.

FN have introduced an improved version of their FN 303 less lethal system, the FN 303 Mk2. This is a pellet launching system which fires fin-stabilized, .68-caliber projectiles. It has a magazine capacity of 15 projectiles and is effective out to 50 meters. It’s powered by compressed air and its semi-automatic action can rapidly fire a range of projectiles.

Smith & Wesson’s line of M&P handguns have sold phenomenally well since the first model was released in 2005. Over its sixteen-year history to date, the collection has expanded to include a vast array of variants and options covering a half-dozen calibers. It has spawned offshoot versions like the Shield and Shield EZ offerings (and now the new Spec Series model), been adopted by hundreds of government/law enforcement agencies and departments globally, and millions have been purchased commercially.

Winchester Ammunition is one of the top names in the ammo game. They manufacture a wide variety of cartridge and shotshell varieties from their plants based in Oxford, Mississippi and East Alton, Illinois. Last year they took over the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, and produce ammo for the US military as well as their commercial market offerings. From standard rifle cartridges and shotgun shells to rimfire offerings and handloading components, there isn’t much in the world of ammo that they haven’t touched. Now this noted American ammunition maker has announced a special new series, this time with a focus on supporting US military veterans. The new USA Valor series of ammunition has been introduced with the promise that a portion of the proceeds from each sale of this special-edition ammo will be donated to Folds of Honor.

Gun parts from big-name companies can get expensive just because of the name on the package. Soft goods, like plate carriers and pouches, can have the same problem. Strike Industries has been a favorite among people who want quality gun parts for prices that are reasonable. Now, thanks to their Strike Gear line, shooters have a growing catalog of quality soft goods at reasonable prices. The newest addition to the line is the Strike Gear Hook Adapter.

By now, SIG SAUER‘s handguns need little introduction. In addition to their stable of highly-regarded prior models, their newest additions with the P320 and P365 models have achieved significant success as well. TFB has previously covered and reviewed numerous iterations of both designs, largely with overwhelmingly positive overtones. In addition to the standard versions of their pistols, SIG’s Custom Works program produces some upgraded and special-edition variants, and is now adding a new Spectre series to the mix.

Walther has become something of an old name made new again. This venerable brand was founded in Germany way back in 1886, and began making pistols in 1908. Over the last 113 years, they’ve produced some exceedingly recognizable designs, including the P38 from WWII and the PP/PPK series made famous by the James Bond films.

Tyrant Designs is a CNC-machining specialty shop producing firearms parts and accessories from their home base in Chicago, Illinois. They claim to be the inventors of the original skeletonized AR-15 grips, and today they sell multiple versions of this product as well as many other parts. TFB has covered many of their prior offerings, and some examples of those are listed below. Typically, our own reviewers as well as the industry and customers at large have reacted mostly favorably, and generally regarded these products well. Now Tyrant has announced a new product coming soon: machined aluminum Glock sights. The sights appear to employ a white front blade and blackout rear configuration with their chevron-style serrated surface texturing, although it’s indicated that additional options including night sights and suppressor height versions will be added at an as-yet-unknown later date.

To increase aftermarket support, many firearms are being designed to accept widely available AR pistol grips. Recently, more shooters are preferring steeper angles on their grips. This allows them to be in a more upright and natural shooting position. These two trends combined have lead Strike Industries to release the newest in their line of AR grips. At an almost vertical 15-degree angle, this is the new Strike Industries AR Flat Top Overmolded Pistol Grip.

Ranger Point Precision (RPP) expand their impressive selection of lever-action rifle accessories by adding a new Compact M-LOK handguard for the Marlin 336 Compact and Youth 16″ barreled models. This product will allow the smaller Marlin rifles to easily gain the modern look and modularity that some users are coming to appreciate on these old designs.

Guns are machines. No matter how well-made or expensive a machine is, it will break at some point. For this reason, firearms with higher round counts could benefit from having some tools and spare parts around. Batteries in electronic optics can die at inopportune times if not replaced regularly. This is a good reason to keep spares. The problem with carrying spare batteries and tools is that they’re always in my bag. If I needed my rifle off the range and had a part break or an optic die, I would be SOL. To address this problem, Strike Industries has released the Strike Pistol Grip Plug Tool Holder Insert. This allows you to carry your spares in the gun.

Shield Arms blew us all away in late 2019 with the release of their S15 Magazine. The original Shield Arms S15 took the already great Glock 43X and 48 and turned the platform into a compact package that can hold 15 rounds – flush fit. TFBTV Executive Producer James Reeves did some torture testing of the magazines and they held up incredibly well. Through my own use and testing, I found that while the magazines themselves held up well – the nature of my carry situation led to the magazines rusting and me having to coat them in Alumahyde to keep the rust from spreading. Now, Shield Arms has just dropped the Gen 2 S15 ambidextrous magazine full of improvements to take their already game-changing magazine for the Glock 43X and 48 to the next level.

Bipods – a dear subject for me as I have a dozen of them for various applications. Swagger Bipods now have several new products available, mainly developed for hunting and competition shooting, but also for tactical purposes. A new feature I haven’t seen before is the Swagger SFR10’s ability to adjust the flex tension allowing the shooter to fine-tune the flexibility of the legs and go from flexible to rigid mode. This video shows how it’s done.

ZRO Delta adds a new rifle to their Ready Series of AR-15 models, the 17.76 LVOA. Unlike other packages of the series, this rifle only has a limited number of selected accessories. Indeed it is intended to be a solid base for the user to customize at will.

Dust covers are just little flaps that are fun to play with, right? While they are fun to open and close while you sit and watch your favorite episode of He-Man, dust covers play an essential role in maintaining your firearm. Most, however, are simply a tight-fitting piece of metal or plastic. Strike Industries has taken things one step further.
