The Austrian optics company Kahles has released several interesting products lately. TFB reviewed the Kahles K18i Riflescope with IPSC Reticle last year and it’s still one of the best Low Power Variable Optic on the market. TFB just got the brand new K525i Dynamic Long Range riflescope to review as well. When I got the new K525i DLR and looked into it I said wow, and we’ll see in the upcoming review if the sensation persists.

Luth-AR has a new buttstock available at a competitive price. The MBA-5 is a lightweight, adjustable carbine buttstock that uses a paddle-style adjustment lever. The stock is compatible with either mil-spec or commercial carbine buffer tubes. As you can see in the pictures, there’s also an integrated Picatinny rail if you want to attach a monopod or other accessories such as a bag rider. This is quite nice if you intend to use your rifle for long-range shooting. The MSRP is just $49.95 and it’s available in either Black or Flat Dark Earth colors.

Midwest Industries Inc. recently launched a new armorer’s wrench designed to work with AR-15’s and its bigger brother, AR-10 & SR25 rifles. The new Professional Armorer’s Wrench incorporates two 1/2 inch drive sockets for attaching a torque wrench, A2 sized slots for working on muzzle devices and a “combat bottle opener” for good measure. One unique feature Midwest Industries included directly on their Armorer’s Wrench are common torque specifications for fastening barrel nuts, castle nuts and flash hiders.

Do you hunt with the 6.5 Creedmooror or the .223 Remington? Good news for you as Lapua just presented new hunting ammunition that will hit the shelves in the summer. The .223 Rem is loaded with a 3.2 g / 50 gr Lapua Naturalis hunting bullet and the 6.5 mm has a 10.1 g / 156 gr Soft Point MEGA projectile. The first one comes with a mushrooming effect for varmit hunting and the latter is designed for the deer hunter.

At SHOT Show 2020, Griffin Armament gave us a heads up that they had a new suppressor in the works: the GP-NATO (or GP-N for short). While most of the industry’s popular cans tend to use various aftermarket mounting systems, this new 6.5″ dedicated 5.56 model would wear the NATO designation because it was designed to attach to the common A2 “birdcage” flash hider, the typical muzzle device for most NATO nations’ standard-issue M4s and similar firearms. Griffin drew inspiration and some lessons learned from Gemtech’s prior A2-compatible design, the Halo silencer. Now the GP-N is finally here and should be shipping soon. The text from Griffin‘s release announcement reads as follows.

Over the years, Dead Air Silencers has become a dominant force in the suppressed shooting game. Since SIG SAUER launched their TREAD series in 2018, TFB has brought you news coverage and reviews on this AR lineup. From their original 16″ 5.56 M400 model, to the 11.5″ pistol variant, to the 7.62 upsize in the 716i model, to the enhanced Coil version, the TREAD lineup has typically been well received. In general, they have been assessed as offering good value and performance for the price point, for those who can’t/don’t want to shell out bigger bucks and just need a straightforward AR on the more wallet-friendly end of the cost spectrum. SIG is now further expanding the lineup to include a specialized variant optimized for hunting predator animals. Meet the new SIG SAUER TREAD Predator, announced with the following March 29th press release.

The Pulsar Krypton FXG50 Thermal Clip-On gets a smaller and less expensive colleague called the Proton FXQ30. This is a compact thermal imaging front attachment for hunting, forestry and pest control. With an adapter, you can attach it to your existing riflescope and get a shortcut to thermal capability. You just use your normal reticle to aim and shoot.

As far as I’m concerned, you can never have too many stickers. This is especially true if they are high-quality, gun-related stickers. StickyBolt is a UK-based sticker company that has produced some cool stickers for people like us. Luke C. wrote up their last drop here on TFB. Axeon Optics presents the new MPL1 pistol light with 300 lumens output. Powered by one AAA battery, the light can be set at various flash modes as well as constant on. With a very tempting price, it looks like it would fit both the rail of the pistol and everyone’s wallet. According to Axeon, there are already several holsters that work with it.

Youngsville, NC-based Sightron have introduced their new Precision Long-Range (PLR) Riflescope Series. The SIII PLR Riflescope Series includes 8-32×56, 6-24×50,10-50×60 and 6-24×50 first focal plane scopes. The scopes feature 30mm tubes and weigh in around 28-30oz. Available with illuminated 

Bergara’s lineup of rimfire rifles has a new addition, the Bergara Micro Rimfire. Unlike the other Bergara rimfires, the BMR is built on a dedicated rimfire micro receiver (the Bergara B-14R mimics the size of a standard short action rifle, and the Bergara BXR is a 10/22-pattern rifle). While it is a smaller action, the BMR is still compatible with standard Remington 700 triggers. The safety, firing pin indicator, and ambidextrous magazine release all appear in the same locations as on centerfire Bergara rifles.

From fixed stocks to the Megafin Featureless AR Grip, Strike Industries has been a friend to those trapped beyond rights-infringing borders. If you’re in a state that only allows 10 rounds in a magazine, quick reloads with short magazines can get frustrating. Introducing their own version of a 10/30, Strike is now shipping the 10 Round Strike AR-15 Magazine.

Equinox is a time of the year in which day and night are about equal in duration. Just as the equinox is in nature, the SIG Custom Works 1911 Equinox is about 50% light, 50% dark, and 100% striking. This custom, full-size 1911 is available now and deserves a look.

SIG Sauer have announced a new addition to their P365 family of pistols, the P365X ROMEOZero. The new pistol has a 3.1-inch barrel, a longer P365XL grip module and its slide has a factory installed SIG Sauer ROMEOZero red dot. Retaining the small profile of the P365 while providing the capacity of the XL and adding the improved X series trigger and a red dot.

Ruger have introduced a new micro-compact carry pistol – the Ruger MAX-9. with a 3.2in barrel, a weight of 18.4 ounces and a standard capacity of the 12+1 it is firmly aimed at the EDC market to compete with pistols like SIG Sauer’s P365 series and Springfield Armory’s Hellcat.

Just in from Germany is the H&K SP5L – an SP5 pistol variant that boasts a longer 16.1” barrel. Because the SP5L is imported by our friends at H&K USA, it legally can’t come outfitted as a rifle with a stock. However, new owners are free to swap out the pistol endcap for a stock, without having to wait for ATF approval to make a short barrel rifle. The MSRP is listed as $2,949 and will begin shipping to dealers at the end of this month.

Virginia-based Red Arrow Weapons have introduced their new RAW15. Red Arrow Weapons was set up by hunter and outdoorsman Kip Campbell, the host of the multi-network Red Arrow TV show. The new RAW15 has a free floating 16” chrome moly, hard-coated barrel, a CMC trigger, Magpul furniture and weighs in at 6lbs 9oz.

The rapid development in the thermal imaging market doesn’t seem to care about all the difficulties that are happening in the global economy. Pulsar begins the year by releasing the second generation of the Thermion Riflescopes – Thermion 2 XQ38, Thermion 2 XQ50 and the top model Thermion 2 XP50.

The shooting range pictured above (including the weather) makes me really jealous. The new RAW-10 6.5 Creedmoor rifle from Red Arrow Weapons doesn’t look bad either. The Midnight Bronze Cerakote finish really shines, and the package should be capable of accurate hits really far out.

Rock River Arms just introduced the RBG-1S Precision Bolt Action Rifle and now it’s time for a lightweight rifle in the AR platform called the Light Predator2L. The components are interesting, with a 16″ stainless steel fluted barrel, two-stage match trigger and a carbon fiber handguard.

With IDEX 2021, the first major international defence exhibition of the year coming up in Abu Dhabi later this month, FN Herstal have announced a pair of improved machine gun mounts for land and sea vehicles. The FN M3M WM (Weapon Mount) and the FN Light MWM (Multi Weapon Mount).

New from Anschütz is the Bionic, a Fortner 1827 F action based rifle mated to a lightweight, fully adjustable biathlon stock. Anschütz is the de facto biathlon rifle, with “95% of athletes utilizing Anschütz rifles”.  The 1827 F action allows athletes to cycle the action via a flick of the finger and press of the thumb.  The new Bionic brings the 1827 F straight-pull action based .22 caliber rifles further into the future with a wild-looking 3D printed stock, available in 10 colors and with three selectable sizes of 3D printed grip modules.

MDT‘s chassis are typically focused on “general” or competition use. The new chassis called HNT26 shown and described here is their first purpose-built hunting chassis. Anyone who’s been outdoors hunting for a while knows that weight is an important factor.

Clearly better? If you own a CZ Scorpion Evo 3, there are now two new magazine options from Elite Tactical Systems that hold either 30 or 40 rounds of 9×19 mm. They are made from transparent polymer so you can see how many rounds you have left and of what type, and they’re compatible with all Scorpion Evo generations. If you have one already or plan to use one, the magazines will work with the ETSCAM-RIFLE speed loader.

With the modularity of the AR-15 and AR-10 systems, there is an endless number of potential sling attachment points. One of the more popular ways to attach a sling to the rear of the rifle is to run it to the endplate. Strike Industries has now released their Multi-Function End Plate and Anti-Rotation Castle Nut.

A week or so ago SIG Sauer dropped their 2021 catalog, with a few new gems including new Elite series pistols a new entry to the TREAD line of rifles and SIG’s 277 Fury ammunition. Let’s take a look!

Springfield Armory have announced the launch of a new line of red dot optics for pistols and rifles. The new HEX line launches with two new sights: the WASP, a micro red dot reflex sight designed for concealed carry pistols, and the DRAGONFLY, a standard size red dot which can be mounted on rifles and pistol caliber carbines.

Taurus USA have introduced a new addition to their Raging Hunter series chambered in .460 S&W. The new hunting revolver will be available in a range of three barrel lengths, 8-3/8″, 6-3/4″ and 5-1/8″ and will come in two finishes – all black and a two-tone with MSRPs of $968.18 and $983.33 respectively.
