SAKO TRG M10 Rifle Announced Winner of Canada's MCSW Program

The Finnish firearms manufacturer Sako has just announced that their SAKO TRG M10 rifle has been selected as the new Canadian Multi-Calibre Sniper Weapon (MCSW). The purpose of the MCSW program was to replace the current .338 Lapua Magnum C14 Rifle (introduced in 2005), with a rifle that would be capable of swapping between the more expensive .338 Lapua Magnum cartridge and the less expensive standard 7.62mm NATO cartridge. Sako will now begin the process of delivering the TRG M10 rifles to the Canadian Department of National Defense’s Army.

Two New Left-Handed CZ 457 Rimfire Rifles Now Available

About 10 percent of the United States population is left-handed but only a handful of rifles out there make accommodation for this. However, more and more firearms, including rifles, are now being released and tailored for left-handed shooters. Joining this effort is the new left-handed CZ 457 rimfire rifles including the CZ 457 American chambered in 22LR or 22WMR, and the CZ 457 Varmint chambered in 22LR. These new offerings come with adjustable triggers, Turkish walnut stocks, and of course, left-handed bolts and updated left-handed controls.

Ever since photography was invented in the early 1800s, it has been a medium of limitless possibilities. Today most people have at least a smartphone to capture what’s going on around, and the professionals use even more advanced cameras and optics. At TFB we’ve been running our Photo Of The Day for years, where we share the best photos with firearms. FN America Announces New FN 15 DMR3 Rifles

FN America have announced the introduction of their new FN 15 DMR3 rifles. Chambered in 5.56x45mm, the new DMR3 has an 18-inch hybrid profile barrel with a 1:8 twist and is available in matte black anodized, factory Cerakote flat dark earth (FDE) or tungsten gray finishes. The rifle comes with a Geissele two-stage G2S trigger and SureFire ProComp muzzle brake.

POTD: CZ Bren in NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Latvia

Wilson Combat Acquires New Ultralight Arms

New Ultralight Arms, LLC, manufacturers of lightweight bolt action hunting rifles, will be joining Wilson Combat’s family of companies. The transition will see the production of New Ultralight Arms rifles move from West Virginia to the Wilson Combat plant in Arkansas. Lone Star Future Weapons Protests US Army's NGSW Decision

Lone Star Future Weapons have lodged a formal complaint with the U.S. Government Accountability Office (the GAO) against the US Army’s selection of SIG Sauer’s Next Generation Squad Weapons submission.  On 19 April the US Army announced the selection of SIG’s MCX 6.8 Spear as the XM5 Rifle and the LMG-6.8 belt-fed as the XM250. SIG Sauer’s entries to the program beat out the entry from Lone Star Future Weapons, which submitted the RM277 bullpup rifle.
