Ruger is attempting to fill the void left by the discontinuation of their SR-762 rifle with the introduction of their new SFAR or Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle. This new .308 AR-pattern rifle is a heavy-hitting option that manages to fit into similar dimensions as conventional AR-556 rifles as well as bringing the total weight of the entire package down to just 6.8 lbs for the 16″ version. With this announcement, Ruger has confirmed that the new Small-Frame Autoloading Rifle is not only being produced as we speak, but units have already begun shipping to their distributors meaning you’ll be able to pick up this hot new rifle from your local Ruger dealer soon. LaRue Tactical from Leander, Texas, has just launched a new bolt-action rifle called Siete. The main caliber is 6.5 Creedmoor with a 23″ barrel length, but thanks to a quick-detachable, free-floating handguard and a quick-change barrel, you will have four more caliber options. The chassis and the action are CNC machined from billet aluminum.

The 5.7x28mm is quite an interesting cartridge. Developed in the 80s at the behest of NATO as an intended replacement for the long-lived 9×19 cartridge, 5.7 promised to have better range, better accuracy, greater capacity firearms, and better terminal performance – even against lightly armored targets. However, almost 40 years later, the 5.7x28mm cartridge is still somewhat obscurity with very few firearms being chambered for it in comparison to 9mm which has seen vast improvements and widespread adoption by law enforcement, military, and civilians. However, despite all this, 5.7x28mm isn’t dead yet and today we’re receiving a new firearm for the hot little cartridge in the form of the new Ruger LC Carbine.

If you’re looking for the best in terms of accuracy out of an AR platform, one of the first things you should take a look at is your barrel. Some barrels are inherently better than others and aside from the type of ammo you’re going to need for it, there are a few other considerations on an AR that will aid in accuracy. However, a properly matched receiver set can also be a boon to accuracy by providing the user with extremely tight tolerances, and a near-perfect fit between the upper and lower. Bergara North America announced their Small Batch custom firearms division back in April of the past year. Shortly after the announcement, they released the first gun of their custom shop, the Sidekick bolt action pistol. The company has now introduced the second firearm in this line, the limited edition M40-ISH bolt-action rifle which is created as a tribute to the US Marine Corps M40 sniper rifle.

The new models include the completely smoothbore TG2S and TR9S, the pistol caliber carbine version of PPK20 SMG dubbed Saiga-PPK20, and the Saiga-AKSU, a civilian Krinkov.

Earlier this year, Caveman LLC introduced a series of crush washers for AR-15s that change to bright colors when the barrel starts to heat up past 131 degrees F (55 degrees C). Caveman states that the intended idea behind their Spark AR-15 Crush Washers is to warn shooters when the barrel is too hot to touch or store, and at which point accuracy might start to decline, thus changing from black to one of four bright colors. The .17HMR is one of my favorite rimfire calibers. The hot 17 caliber rimfire cartridge is both supremely accurate, and light recoiling making it a good step up from .22LR in terms of both inherent accuracy and range. Bear Creek Arsenal is following up the success of their .22WMR AR-15 upper with the release of the new BC-15 17HMR Billet Upper Receiver to give rimfire enthusiasts access to yet another popular rimfire cartridge that they can plink, hunt, or target shoot with by simply slapping it on an AR-15 lower receiver.

During the ARMY 2022 exhibition, Kalashnikov Concern unveiled a number of new firearms, both for the military/LE and civilian markets. Among the new guns are two rifles chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO / .308 Winchester – the AKV-721 and AK-308. Let’s take a look at each of these new firearms.

There’s a limited edition LWRC/OTG IC-A5 Bazooka Green rifle incoming. The setup was featured in the video “Urban Combat Survival CQB and Room Clearing” made by Garand Thumb and Orion Training Group. Manufactured by LWRC, this 5.56 rifle is only going to be available through Louisiana Firearms,  LLC. The price is $2,880.

I’ve been trying to get my hands on one of these for a while and Desert Tech graciously sent me one for testing and review purposes. Today we’ll be checking out the Trek-22 to see what it has to offer rimfire shooters which should give you a good idea of whether or not this is the aftermarket 10/22 product for you.

SCAR go FRT? Yes, it can. We have the technology thanks to Imperial Arms. Nathan P of Imperial Arms was nice enough to send me an updated version of his MTM (Mil-spec Trigger Module) for the SCAR17S. We saw the MTM before along with his virgin SCAR receivers called Cypher X. Well, what makes this new MTM so special? It goes to 11.

Brownells shook up the retro scene when they introduced a modern clone of the original AR-10, called the BRN-10. Kalashnikov USA teamed up with Outlaw Ordnance to create a trio of limited edition AKs – the KR-9S Patriot pistol caliber carbine, the KS-12T Valhalla shotgun and the KR-103 Tanker Green rifle. The Outlaw Ordnance did the custom engravings and Cerakote job on these KUSA guns. Only 100 rifles and shotguns, and 25 PCCs will be made. In this episode of TFBTV, James Reeves is at Zastava USA to discuss the new import of the Zastava M77 rifle. This .308 rifle is very similar to Zastava’s flagship M70 AK-type rifle and almost identical to the Zastava M90 .223 rifle, with a few differences other than the obvious caliber difference. Note that per the video, furniture that works with the M70 and M90 should also work with the M77. Zastava now offers three calibers of AK to the US civilian market, including 5.56/223, and of course 7.62×39.
