TFB Review: SIG CROSS PRS in 6.5 Creedmoor

Designed with precision in mind, SIG’s new CROSS PRS in 6.5 Creedmoor is packed with new features.  Using the existing CROSS chassis, the PRS features a prominent new 24-inch heavy contour barrel underneath a new ARCA-equipped handguard.  I was curious to see how this new longer-barreled variant was, and SIG was kind enough to send over a completely decked-out copy for me to review.

Uintah Precision, a company primarily known for making bolt action AR uppers and complete firearms, has entered the muzzleloader market. However, what they make is not your great-great-grandfather’s muzzleloader. New Sidekick Balance Weight for Long-Range PRS Shooting from Luth-AR

PRS shooters are always looking for ways to improve the weight and balance of their firearms for more optimal results and the folks over Luth-AR have just introduced their new Sidekick Balance Weight for the MBA-1 or MBA-2 buttstock. The Sidekick Balance Weight adds an additional 14.5-oz to the rear of the rifle which could help in offsetting heavier or longer barrels which should result in a more evenly balanced platform.

TFB B-Side Podcast: Is Reloading For You? With the Ultimate Reloader

Reloading is one of those hobbies I never thought I’d actually pick up – even as a firearms owner. However, all it took for me to get addicted to the benchtop hobby was for a good friend of mine to send me a very inexpensive Lee Challenger reloading press kit and from there, the rest was history. Reloading can seem intimidating for the uninitiated, I know I was quite intimidated during my first range trip with my first box of reloaded ammunition, however, 10 years down the road, I’ve not only gained a solid grasp on the concept, but I’ve also dipped into new rabbit holes of information I once again never thought I’d find myself in. Suffice it to say reloading is just as rewarding as it is educational and I personally think that more firearms owners should have at least a basic grasp of the concept. I think these sentiments are shared by our guest today, Gavin, a.k.a the Ultimate Reloader. Gavin runs a YouTube channel and website that specializes in all things reloading, as well as some great informative precision rifle content that has really been a valuable resource to me as a reloader over the years. I’m honored today to have him on the podcast with us to give you guys a bird’s eye view of handloading/reloading so that you can determine for yourself whether or not you’d like to pick it up either as a hobby or as a means to shoot more without vastly increasing the cost of ammunition.

CZ 600 Rifles Under Recall From CZ-USA

CZ-USA has initiated a safety recall for their new CZ 600 rifles that have the capacity for the user to swap barrels. One of the major features of the CZ 600 rifle series was the multi-caliber option within each of the three sizes of receivers, however, CZ-USA’s recall notice advises that if a barrel were improperly installed, the rifle would still be able to fire, which could lead to a catastrophic failure of the rifle. CZ-USA’s full voluntary recall notice can be read below, with a link at the end to check your CZ 600 rifles serial number.

The Rimfire Report: RSM Firearms MINI-50 Ruger 10/22 Conversion Kit

Hello and welcome to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many guns, sports, ammunition, and trends. Last week, we talked about the new Fletcher Rifle Works Bandera OpenTop 11/22 pistol. Since that article was posted, I’ve had the opportunity to take it to the range a few more times and thus far it has held up quite well on the reliability side of things and the pistol really has been a joy to shoot – I will be sad to see it go when I send it back to Mr. Fletcher! In that same vein, part of why I like the 10/22 platform so much is due to the sheer amount of customization options you have on the market for it. I recently stumbled upon a new limited edition conversion kit for the Ruger 10/22 rifles designed by RSM Firearms. Dubbed the MINI-50, this conversion kit takes your standard 10/22 rifle and fits it into a nice new mini Barrett M82A1 skin suit.

Ballistics Visualized For New Gun Owners

There are a lot of new, first-time gun owners out there, and I thought I’d take a moment to make ballistics visualized to help new gun owners with explaining how ballistics work with an easy-to-see and do object lesson. This article isn’t exactly meant for our faithful readers that are already aware of how ballistics work, but they’re certainly free to comment if I’ve missed anything or if they have other suggestions on how they explain the topic. Without further ado, if you’ve recently joined the masses in exercising your right to own firearms and you’d like to know how to get your bullets on target, here are some things to consider.

NEW Quiet: PWS BDE 762 – Bravo Delta Echo Suppressor

Additive manufacturing is taking the suppressor world by storm. When I first wrote about the Delta P Design Brevis II about five years ago, I took a fair amount of heat in the comment section. The main concerns were durability and repairing damaged 3D-printed silencers. I think we can lay the durability issue to rest (they are strong). And modularity is beginning to address the repair possibilities by having the serialized sections separated from the majority of the tubes. The new PWS BDE 762 takes additive modularity to a new level with six additional sections past the serialized blast baffle and mount section. Add in a 1.375 x 24” universal adapter thread pitch and a new contender starts to take shape. All puns in this article are organic, even if they are cringey.

Now Available: 3D-Printed HUXWRX FLOW 556k Rifle Suppressor

A true defensive “fighting” carbine needs to be compact, lightweight, accurate, and reliable to fill its role in the armory. Any equipment added to the carbine’s system should be an important capability of the system without dramatically impacting overall functionality. When it comes to suppressors, I believe that short and light models that are as gas-neutral as possible are the best choice for the AR-15. It seems that the new 3D-printed HUXWRX FLOW 556K has found the sweet spot between suppression and system integration.
