CZ-75 FULL AUTO vs. Glock 18: Machine Pistol Accuracy Showdown

In this episode of TFBTV, JamesReeves is at the Sellier & Bellot testing lab in the Czech Republic to pit two of the best machine pistols of all time against each other: It’s the CZ-75 Full Auto versus the Glock 18. The CZ-75 came out in 1975, but the full auto version wasn’t released until the 1990s, meaning that they are very rare; there are only 2 in the Czech Republic. The CZ-75 Full Auto is a heavy 40 ounces with a 1,000 rounds per minute cyclical rate. The Glock 18 is the full auto version of the Glock 17. The Glock 18 is reliable, inexpensive, and has a lightning fast 1100 rounds per minute cyclical rate while being a very trim 22 ounces – faster and lighter than the CZ-75 Full Auto. So which one is better? The answer, today on TFBTV.

Snipe Silently – The New Cadex Defense CDX-SS Seven S.T.A.R.S. Covert

In my neck of the woods, long-range shooting and hunting is anywhere between 100 and 200 yards. Owning a 6.5 Creedmoor for use in this area makes as much sense as owning a snubby revolver chambered in .40 S&W for a CCW. But precision and accuracy are of extreme importance whether you are shooting at 50 yards or 1200 yards. Cadex Defense, known for top-shelf long-range rifles, have just announced the CDX-SS Seven S.T.A.R.S. Covert chambered in 300BLK, 223 Remington, 308 Winchester, or 6.5 CM. The 300BLK and .223 versions are available with 11-inch barrels and longer suppressors.

Maxim Defense Introduces PRS Suppressors

Suppressors for Precision Rifle Series (PRS) shooting is something I’m looking into at the moment, and conveniently Maxim Defense has just released such a solution. Typically suppressors lessen the muzzle flash, noise and recoil while making the gun a little more accurate. Maxim’s new PRS suppressors have a 3-piece MonoKore design with a 1.75” outer diameter, and are made out of grade-5 titanium and 7075-T6 aluminum. The finish is Cerakote / Type-III hard coat anodizing. It’s available for 6.5 and .308 calibers and attaches with a 5/8-24 thread pitch. The suppressor adds 7.25″ to the overall length of the gun, and weighs 10.8 oz. The MSRP of Maxim Defense PRS suppressors is $695.

TFB Behind The Gun Podcast #53: Spencer with HUSH Holsters

Last week we had the opportunity to break the story on an innovative new holster specifically specialized to work with virtually any handgun/suppressor combo as long as it has a TLR1 weapon light attached to it. I was able to get the owner of HUSH Holsters and designer of the HUSH, Spencer, on the podcast to talk about his design, his driving motive behind producing the new holster, and some of his thoughts on what materials and design choices he made to make it work for him and other people who like to shoot suppressed handguns at the range.

SureFire Anti Flash-and-Light – SFA2-556 Flash Hider and Suppressor Mount

Place this one in the ‘it’s not new, but it hasn’t received any press’ column. SureFire muzzle devices, especially their muzzle brakes and three-prong or four-prong flash hiders have been industry leaders for many years. The wide adoption of the SureFire SOCOM series of suppressors across the armed forces has driven the continuous refinement of flash and/or muzzle rise reduction (the WarComp family of muzzle devices combines both flash hiding and muzzle brake characteristics). For those who are more minimalist-minded, SureFire has released the SFA2-556 flash hider and SOCOM suppressor mount.

Inside the TacGas Armory

Located in Salt Lake City, Utah is the production empire known as TacGas.  Founded in 2016 by Jim Staley, they’ve quickly become the go-to production company for both video game studios and defense contractors.  In 2019 Call of Duty Modern Warfare and its counterpart Warzone took the world by storm. Since then TacGas has been Call of Duty’s go-to production company that’s helping bring more realism into the massive franchise.  I had a chance to tour the TacGas facility and sit down with Jim Staley to ask him more about how this process works.  Here’s what I learned.

Meet the HUSH Holster (Holster Universal Suppressed Handgun)

Energetic Arms Announces New and Improved Vox K2 Suppressor

On the heels of their successful mid-length Vox-S suppressor, Energetic Arms announced the compact K version around SHOT Show 2019. With “K” indicating “Kurtz” (which is German for “short”), this compact silencer chopped down about an inch, for those shooters concerned about their gun’s overall length. The K model was also generally well received, as its bigger S-model brother had been. Now Energetic is endeavoring to evolve the series further. They recently issued a press release announcing an updated version, the Vox K2. The K2 update boasts improved performance over its predecessor, measured in weight efficiency – i.e. decibel reduction per ounce of silencer weight. It will still function with a variety of mounts, such as Dead Air’s Key-Mo, SilencerCo’s ASR, Q’s Plan-B, and more, and its .30 cal bore will function with different end caps for either 7.62mm or 5.56mm compatibility and the silicone wipes for which this series has become well-known. Check out Energetic Arms’ announcement below.

TFB Review: A-TEC PMM-6 Pistol Suppressor

This is a review of the A-TEC PMM-6 suppressor, mostly attached to the Glock 45. A-TEC is a Norwegian company, and it may seem odd for an American-focused firearms blog to review something Americans can’t buy. However TFB has readers all over the world, and A-TEC has a strong position in the European suppressor market. For instance, A-TEC and Heckler & Koch recently entered into cooperationin the areas of development and sales“, and the outcome will be very interesting.

POTD: CZ Scorpion SBR by Holt Works Photography

I’m pretty far away from this EVO3, but let me say I’m quite interested in trying it out. The Bushmaster stock does give it the look of an FN SCAR-SC in .300BLK, don’t you think?
