There’s a plethora of fantastic holsters and ammo on the market but there’s a fair amount of poor options as well. Let’s take a closer look at what and what not to carry.

Frontier Armory is a leading source of African firearm parts. In addition to their array of imported parts, they are also creating a US-made reproduction Halbek device. What is a Halbek device, exactly? The legendary Ian McCollum at Forgotten Weapons made a great video explaining what it was and how it worked.

The Civilian Marksmanship Program has an absolute unicorn up for auction, a true Mark 13 Mod 3 sniper rifle. This .300 Win Mag looks like it could tell some GWOT war stories if it could talk. It’s not every day that a gun like this is available to the public, so let’s take a look at this rifle.

Did you ever put All The Money In One Picture? Well here’s a try. The rifle is a Tikka T3x TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor, in a Spuhr SICS chassis painted in a custom Snigel Grey Cerakote. The barrel is suppressed by Ase Utra with a QD mount. Balancing on top we have a Safran Vectronix PLRF25 Laser Range Finder, Pulsar Merger Thermal Binoculars and another Vectronix Terrapin X. The wind meter is from Kestrel.

The full force of the intense summer heat is out this year and I’m looking for almost any way to stave off the sweat before we finally make it to fall. One way I’ve found that works well is to just not go outside and instead take more time to restock and refine my gear and gun selection for following range trips. This summer has been one almost completely dominated by 9mm and 5.56/.223 for me (with the obvious addition of copious amounts of .22LR in my specific case). However, there are always a few odds and ends I’m looking for that I’m really just waiting for the right price on. I’ve included a couple of my personal selections down below as well as recommendations from both our TFB staff and our faithful TFBTV Discord supporters. Case foam for your rifle case?  Yeah, it’s dead.  After spending hundreds of dollars on countless hours cutting and rearranging case foam I finally found an answer to this problem.  Rather than set up a case for foam, I set up my Pelican case for a second soft one inside.  Sort of like Russian nesting dolls but for gun cases.  Let’s dive into how this works, and how you can make this work for you.

With the Independence Day celebration over and your monthly paychecks worth of mag dumps accomplished in celebration of our great nation’s birth, it’s probably time to restock on some ammo and gear, and maybe even pick up a few new guns. There are a lot of hot releases to come later this summer which usually means that the current latest offerings of firearms, and optics will probably start to get deeply discounted as these newer options start hitting the online market. If you want evidence of that, just look at what happened to the price of the Trijicon SRO right before the Holosun 507COMP came out! Rhineland Arms and Global Defense made a splash at SHOT 2023 with their R2000 rifle chassis. That kit builds a reduced-scale WA2000 clone with AR-15 internals. A big brother is now in the works, with a .308 Winchester-size version on the way.
