Arm Brace Ban Rule Blocked By Court (For Some People, For Now)

A lawsuit spearheaded by the Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) has secured a preliminary injunction against the ATF arm brace ban. What exactly does that mean? And who does that apply to? This is all still a little unclear, but let’s take a look at this case and what might be on the horizon.

The Curious Case Of The Pin-less Front Sight Base

The AR-15 is undoubtedly the most popular gun in America. Virtually all gun owners have at least used, if not built, multiple of them. Every once in a while, there is one that is a stumper. This is the story of the strangest front sight base I have ever dealt with.

The Rimfire Report: The KelTec P17 Gets the Red Dot Treatment

Hello and welcome to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its many types of guns, ammunition, and shooting sports! This week we’re diving back into another firearm chambered just in 22LR – the KelTec P17, but this time we’re talking about a new addition to the lineup for the P17 that many people have been waiting for – an optics-ready slide. KelTec is known for producing innovative and affordable firearms, and the KelTec P17 is no exception. The P17 is a reliable and fairly accurate pistol chambered in .22 LR that has gained a lot of popularity among shooters mostly for its price of just $199. However, many users wanted to improve the P17’s performance by adding a red dot sight. In response to this demand, KelTec recently released a new P17 replacement slide that includes a factory-installed red dot sight. In this edition of The Rimfire Report, we’ll take a closer look at the evolution of the P17 platform and how well the new slide provides customers with a turnkey solution for those who want to run the P17 with a red dot.

The True Story of the "H&K Social Media Girl"

Social media is the face of the modern corporation. Businesses use it to connect with their target audience, build brand awareness, drive customer engagement, and ultimately generate revenue. In an effort to set themselves apart and resonate with their target audiences, companies have been hiring clever, quick-witted, and modish social media managers, often marketers hired as independent contractors. The absolutely brutal and anonymous Wendy’s social media persona stands out as a great example:

TFB Weekly Web Deals 52: Salute to US Merchant Marines

Hello and welcome to TFB Weekly Web Deals 52! One of the more underrated national holidays observed here in the United States is entirely dedicated to merchant mariners – essentially the men and women who operate ships that cross the gigantic oceans across the globe bringing things like food, industrial equipment, and consumer goods in and out of the country during peacetime. However, merchant mariners can also be called upon by the United States government during times of war to deliver military equipment and vehicles to support US military operations abroad. While maybe not quite as glamorous as other military operations, both government-employed and private civilian merchant mariners are a core part of the Nation’s industry and commerce and today is simply a day to acknowledge those men and women who keep the gears turning. Enjoy this week’s selection of deals for TFB weekly web deals 52.

The Pitfalls Of Gun Culture, Cancel Culture, And Social Media

Both of of my professions revolve around life in the digital world – a place we can communicate, transact, and express ourselves at face-melting speeds. And just like the real world, our virtual lives are both blessed or cursed depending on the prevailing winds. When it comes to firearms, gun owners have pulled together using social media while simultaneously being ostracized by social media companies for representing one side of a polarizing social/political debate. One of the most satisfying aspects of TFB is being able to rise above unproductive partisan discourse in favor of fact-based news, editorials, and reviews that don’t rely on emotional triggers for gaining readers and viewers. However, we are unable to avoid social media altogether because, obviously, we are social media.

The Rimfire Report: The Five Most Affordable Rimfire Pistols Worth Buying

Welcome back to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is all about the rimfire firearm world and its guns, history, ammunition, and shooting sports! Last week we talked about the key differences between 22WMR and 22LR and where each one shines and falls short. As an overall cartridge, 22LR leaves a lot to be desired in the accuracy and power departments but absolutely kills it in comparison to 22WMR when it comes to cost and versatility. Speaking of versatility, I like to be able to train on a budget with the ammunition that I have on hand – which a majority of is often 22LR. The world of rimfire firearms can be an expensive one, but rimfire handguns can also offer an affordable option for those on a budget. Rimfire cartridges are smaller and less powerful than centerfire cartridges, making them less expensive to produce and shoot and the guns are also often similarly less expensive but sometimes just as capable if your goal is training or just a fun afternoon at the range. So today, I’ll be lining up five of my favorite and most affordable rimfire pistols that are actually worth buying.

The Rimfire Report: Comparing 22LR and 22WMR

Hello and welcome to another edition of The Rimfire Report! This ongoing series is about the rimfire firearm world and its many different types of guns, sports, history, and ammunition types. Last week we brought in TFB writer and gunsmith extraordinaire Sam S to talk about fixing his Dad’s old Marlin Model 60 – probably one of the most ubiquitous semi-auto rimfire rifles alongside the Ruger 10/22. My recent experiences with the new Ruger Super Wrangler have brought my mind back to rimfire ammunition comparisons. When it comes to rimfire cartridges, the .22 Long Rifle (22LR) and .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire (22WMR) are two of the most popular choices among hunters, plinkers, and target shooters. Both cartridges have unique strengths and weaknesses, and choosing between them largely depends on your intended use. But is there any specific reason to use one over the other? Today, we will be comparing 22LR and 22WMR, discussing their pros and cons, use cases, and which one might be the best choice for your shooting needs.

TFB Armorer's Bench: Remington Model 10 Handguard Fix

Welcome everyone to the  TFB Armorer’s Bench! As mentioned in the little blurb below, this series will focus on a lot of home armorer and gunsmith activities. In this article, I decided to do a little woodworking. I apologize for the lack of Armorer’s Bench content as of late. It has been tough juggling all the projects I have planned and getting them set up. One such multifaceted project is my Remington Model 10 Trench Gun project. Fear not! I am not destroying a beautiful well working and well-finished Remington Model 10 in order to achieve this. I picked up a real heap of one and got the necessary materials together to make a gun I never thought I’d own. My old soul is absolutely flustered with excitement. Let’s dive right into this Remington Model 10 Handguard Fix!

The Mag Shack – Thousands of Factory Original and Aftermarket Mags

Let’s face it, magazines are a hot-button issue for a number of reasons, and not all of them have to do with the legality or even their capacity. A lot of times magazines can become infamous or famous simply because of their availability, or lack thereof. One notable example is the current availability of FN FAL magazines. 12-15 years ago you could find them on nearly every firearm, gear, or gun classified ad for pretty cheap, probably along with a bunch of ammunition the guy bought with the gun. These days FAL magazines are quite expensive for surplus models and a lot of them are probably banged up and close to the end of their life if not past it. This is why I’m happy to see another competitor in the magazine retailer market – The Mag Shack. The Mag Shack stocks and sells thousands of OEM factory and aftermarket magazines for virtually every type of gun currently being produced, as well as firearms that are no longer produced or are very niche in nature.

There have been a few questions lately about what’s the best system to carry with and what things should be checked regularly if you carry a concealed handgun every day. Let’s take a closer look at what are some important items to consider when carrying.

The revolver was presented to Davis by Robert Adams of London, the co-inventor and manufacturer of these revolvers.
