For #FNFriday here are some Belgian SCARs being used. Just last Tuesday days ago Brussels, the capital of Belgium, was attacked by a suicide bomber. Luckily he sucked at his job. The Belgian Army was seen patrolling the area after the bomber had been neutralized. You can see they were primarily armed with FNH SCARL. Im not sure if these are considered MK16 like the ones the US uses. The MK16 has a shorter barrel.

It looks like Trijicon is releasing a new RMR model that has been revised to addresses many of the concerns with the original model. It appears that the RMR Type 2 will retain all of the features that we know and love with the addition of some new ones as well as refinements that should make it an all around better optic.

To say that firearms optics technology has advanced in the last decade would be an understatement. Sure, it’s all relative – the original jump from iron sights to optical magnification must have seemed to the marksman of the day like peering into the future. But as current technology marches on, the miniaturization of electronics and the optical clarity of lenses grows at an amazing pace. Although, the Trijicon MRO isn’t a new addition to the market, it is rapidly gaining ground on competitors due to it’s solid performance and affordable price point.

TangoDown has developed a slim fit protective cover for the Trijicon Miniature Rifle Optic (MRO). Designed to take the impact of bumps and abrasions, the lightweight polyurethane cover comes in black or FDE but can be dipped or painted with most coverings. For $35, the iO cover is cheap insurance for your pricey optic.

Compared to most industries, the firearms world has been relatively free from the bane and scourge of fake products. So, the headline is slightly misleading – obviously there are options listed here that should be classified as holographic or prismatic sights and not red dots ( we talked about the differences a few months back in the astigmatism informational post). You see, I had hoped to do a lead-off picture where Rudolph’s red nose was the red dot inside the glass and throw in some holographic snowflakes… nevermind. You get the point – the electronic sights listed below are 1X, have illuminated reticles and brightness controls.

As to be expected, Trijicon will introduce a number of new products at the 2017 SHOT Show. These new products include a variety of scopes, optics and pistol sights.
